GlobaTech #1

D.E.A.D. Till I Die

Even the best of us need help sometimes...

Following on from the devastating events in Deadly Intent, Adrian is trying to stay one step ahead of the people responsible for the most atrocious terrorist attack in human history, while fighting to bring them to justice. But there's only so much he can do on his own.

His best friend, Josh Winters, has spent the last couple of years working his way up the corporate ladder at GlobaTech Industries, the world’s largest private security firm. He takes it upon himself to use the vast amount of resources at his disposal to assist Adrian in his efforts, by putting together a small team, tasked with tracking down a former employee who has evidence to prove Adrian's claims of a conspiracy.

But Josh and his team aren't the only ones after him.

NB: This story takes place in between the events that occur in the Adrian Hell novels, Deadly Intent and A Necessary Kill, although it can still be enjoyed as a stand-alone title. It is a re-envisioning of a novella published under the same name in August 2015, but has changed drastically from its previous incarnation, including an alternative ending.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the advanced reader's copy of this book. The release date of February 14th is significant because it is Adrian Hell's birthday. This book has Adrian Hell in a cameo appearance as it introduces the GlobaTech team of Jericho Stone, Julie Fisher, and Ray Collins. This is their first adventure including the why and how they came together.

If you are sensitive to violence not to mention adult language and situations, perhaps this is not the book for you.

That said, if you enjoy political thrillers with international intrigue then might I suggest reading the Adrian Hell series as well as the GlobaTech series in order. You might not like some of what happens but you'll be glad you took the time to read about these intriguing and unique characters.

Murder, betrayal, suspense, a bit of romance, conspiracy, revenge -- this book has it all!! The book will grip you and is difficult to put down once you start. I highly recommend you settle in with a large cup of your favourite beverage (mine was coffee) as you'll be reading for a while.

Not my first read of this author, and I can certainly guarantee it won't be the last, especially in the series this prequel "spawned."

Settle back, take a deep breath, and enjoy the ride!!!!!

Great start to the series.

Sumner always tells a good story. I have been an Adrian Hell fan since the beginning, and this team was a natural progression to enhance the storyline. Can't wait to start the next book.

Short greatness

A great short story in the Adrian Hell series. This book looks at another point of view other than Adrian's. It's smart and entertaining. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the new characters, Jericho, Julie, and Ray again in the future.

I received a free kindle copy of D.E.A.D. Till I Die: An Action Thriller (GlobaTech Book 1) by James P. Sumner in exchange for a fair review.

I gave this fast paced action thriller five stars.

Jericho Stone was the head of a secret government agency. He was shot by one of his own men.

"Out of the corner of his eye, Jericho saw a sudden movement. He shot a look over to his left & for a split second, saw Black pointing his weapon at him. He frowned, unable to comprehend what was unfolding before him. Then, without warning or hesitation, his second-in-command pulled the trigger. The muzzle flash was bright, & the gunshot loud, echoing all around. To Jericho, it sounded like the noise was cut short halfway through, as the dimly-lit airfield quickly faded to a vast all-consuming darkness."

He woke in a hospital. He wasn't sure what had happened. It was a miracle he was alive. He had been forcibly retired from the secret agency & became an employee of GlobaTech.

If you like suspense filled, action packed books, I highly recommend this globe-trotting one.

Spin off from the Adrian Hell series, following Global Tech. Not what I expected, was expecting more of Josh Winters. This story follows Jericho Stone and his new team, very good book and hopefully will be more.
