1=dnf / why bother?; 2=not to my taste; 3=A good story; 4=I liked it a lot; 5=a favorite must-read!
Ivy Pembroke overhears the family butler plotting her demise after admitting to killing her twin brother, Ivan. The now extremely wealthy heiress escapes by train putting her in the company of Darius Jones, a cowboy headed home to Baker City, Oregon, to care for his ailing mother. A fantastic story full of secrets, mysteries, an evil uncle, laughs, and a visit from "friends." The characters are well developed, and the appearance of the Calloway sisters (Dear Mr. Comforts) is delightful. Anything written by Kit Morgan is read-worthy. Enjoy!
If you have not read anything by Ms. Morgan before, I recommend starting with The Call (trust me!). If you choose, read the next two books in the Time Masters series but when you get to Time Masters 4: First Assignment, read His Prairie Princess, then Her Prairie Knight. His Prairie Duchess and Time Masters 4: First Assignment are "companion" stories.

Ivy by Kit Morgan is a great story! I read it in one sitting, because I couldn't put it down. Ivy is barely eighteen and a rich young lady. But the sudden death of her twin brother causes her to flee her home and hop a train west where she meets Darius, who is returning to his hometown to care for his ill mother. Though she knows she shouldn't trust Darius for he he may be one of many who had a hand in her brother's demise, Ivy can't help but be drawn to Darius' kind heart and smile, to his sincerity in wanting to help her.
Ivy and Darius make for a great couple. While riding the rails with them, it was great fun watching Ivy settle her nerves long enough to take a chance on Darius' compelling nature. He truly is hero in his devotion to his mother and his willingness to protect someone he just met. What really captured my interest was the mystery surrounding Ivy's brother, as Miss Morgan penned a wonderful tale in the 'whodunit' category. Most times, I thought I knew, but there were subtle instances where I thought perhaps I was wrong. An all-around great story that kept me turning the pages until I reached the end.

what my brother is dead!
He was just fine last night and why can’t I see him? I hate being told to go to my room and wait. I must figure out what is going on. I must have fallen asleep but now I want answers. I want to see my brother and settle up his desire of being cremated and the service. What do you mean he’s gone? Where did you send his body and where is Uncle Charles? Again to my room bother, I’m going to have to get out and find where they sent my brother. As I was sneaking out I heard voices and thought that Uncle was back, so I headed in the direction of the voices. Only to overhear that I was going to be next to loose my life. I quickly gather some of my stuff and some money, now to get away as far as possible…

This is Book #7 in the Love Train series and is a sweet and heartwarming story with some humor thrown in. This is Ivy Pembrooke and Darius Jones' story. Ivy, after her brother was murdered and she was due a large inheritance, overheard her uncle plotting to kill her to gain her inheritance, decided to run away. Darius who was on his way to care for his ill mother, met Ivy on the train they both were traveling on. He soon realized Ivy may be in danger and offered to protect her. Mr and Mrs Jones
I love Ivy and Darius's journey of self discovery, whilst running from danger they discover so much about themselves, their hopes, their fears and their unexpected feelings for the other. Whilst dangerous it is also a sweet and heartwarming book and I really enjoyed that most of the book takes place on the 1216....so lots of Henry and Willie too! Although we missed Scruffy on this trip.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Adventurous!!
This story kept me enthralled the whole time I was reading it. It is running for her life after her train brother is killed. She's not sure who she can trust, bit Darius become her protecter. There's danger, intrigue, and romance in this story. Everything I loved in the books I read.

Excellent Read!
Kit Morgan does it again with a exciting and thrilling story full of secrets, murder, adventure, excitement, trains, and romance! Ivy and Darius are exceptional characters who are thrown together by a need for survival. The secrets Ivy withholds may very well be the ending of them both. I was so drawn to this story! Great series!!

This was an adventure story about Ivy. She overheard her butler, Mr. Johnson, telling someone in her house, “ now that he had taken care of her brother, he would get rid of her, then they would have it all . Ivy packed two small bags and slipped out of the house, boarded a train for San Fransisco. Along the way she met a gentleman who wanted to help her. Great story, enjoy.

Wonderful
I enjoyed Ivy's story from the beginning to the end. Murder, suspense and romance all rolled up together. A handsome cowboy and characters from other stories of Clear Creek, Oregon was splendid. Just like seeing old friends. Simply great storytelling.

Really good story. Ivy runs for her life when she overhears he plot to kill her. On the run she gets on board the train for the farthest she can go…San Francisco. The cowboy sitting next to her, Darius, becomes her protector and the adventure starts! Enjoyable read.

What a fun story.
I liked Ivy & Darius very much. Having characters from other Kit Morgan books show up was fun. The plot was engrossing.

With all the resources available now, I would have a hard time accepting that my uncle had killed my twin brother and wanted me dead. I can only imagine how hard it would have been for a gently raised young lady in 1879 to cope with such a realization. Kit Morgan always brings interesting story lines and well-developed characters to her stories. It was good to visit again with Henry and Willie.
