Sundered: Book 1 of the Land of the Sun trilogy
Author: Linda Ling

Sundered: Book 1 of the Land of the Sun trilogy by Linda Ling is an amazingly written fantasy book that follows Princess Faelyn.

But this story isn't just about the princess but about the unknown danger to her family. Despite all the odds King Belkrin chose his love and married Sharuva and now she was the queen of Tir'Sunaa. Everything was going well then what would have happened that the queen leaves behind her two children ( the youngest princess fallen ) only with her crown prince to a land that is her husband's enemy. Eighteen years old Princess Faelyn finds that her mother and brother are in danger now? But what is that unknown danger and what will be the next step for the princess Faelyn? How will King Belkrin react to all this and will the princess be able to face all dangers and this family reunite?

You will get answers to all these questions by reading a book. It's a beautiful book. The plot is engaging, and enjoyable which gives you a nice escape from life.

" Sundered " is a very well-read, thoughtful and there's a depth to writing that leaves you with something to chew on. This is a very good start to the series, by the way. This book has so much going on it's packed with a fantastic story and plot. I love Fantasy books and this was everything - gripping, heart-pounding adventure. Very readable, attractive cover, and a good feel in your hands when reading.

I'd recommend the book itself and this particular series to anyone.

The main character of this story is princess Faelyn, whose mother left her when she was very young. Her mother was the commoner turned queen of the kingdom but left everything to live in a rival kingdom. The only thing that she took along was her son and Faelyn's oldest brother. This entire incident is based on a secret that leads to danger. It is Faelyn's journey of saving her mother and brother and reuniting her family that fills the story with twists and turns along with thrill and adventure. There is mystery along with the courage to fight for one's family.

The rivalry between the two kingdoms, one magically advanced while the other technically advanced, and the danger that accompanies it, is palpable. Faelyn is mature beyond her years and the kind of sympathy she shows when the king stumbles while making a major decision is commendable. I loved the character development and the portrayal of strong family values. This ended on a cliffhanger perfect for the second book. Recommended.

Sundered is the first book in the elegantly well-written fantasy series titled The Land of the Sun. This is a story about kingdoms, rivalry, adventure, magic and danger, the glorious amalgamation of rich narrative that ultimately initiate a masterful fantasy journey.

After, the deadly battle separated the continent called The Land of Sun, leading to the west and east side, the four races also saw the split as well. The Myrloc Mountains created a rift to keep both sides destroying each other although many wars were fought. Tir'Sunna (west) is technological advance while Elvarue (east) leans towards magic.

We follow Faelyn, the eighteen year old Princess of Tir'Sunna. Her mother, the former Queen Sharuva took her the firstborn son with her when Faelyn was only eight to the other side, Elvarue. Missing her mother and brother and wondering where they are, she never anticipated a cryptic letter stating that they were in danger.

She wants to learn more about magic, and find her family more than ever but The Declaration of Separation forbids her from delving deeper. But there are secrets that beholds the most dangerous truths and the revelations will come a great price. Will Princess Faelyn be able to save them in time? Her adventurous journey is one that will test the waters of perilous undertakings. Packed with punch and unexpected twists and turns, delve into the world of magic and jeopardy.

The world of fantasy is only complicated when you have a hard time keeping track of events but that is not the case in this book. The author's immensely wonderful writing style was absolutely engaging, keeping everything, whether it's the narration or events in a clear manner. I really enjoyed reading this because there wasn't a dull moment to be found. The protagonist's personality was admirable, the anticipation of shaping suspense and eagerness to unravel the mystery was definitely interesting.

This first book in the trilogy is a game changer for the fantasy adventure genre. I'd highly recommend it to the readers who love a captivating storyline with a cliffhanger that cultivates excitement and enthusiasm.

Love is such a powerful vigour, which is there for everyone to embrace, the kind of unconditional yearning that impels people to take risks for what they believe in.

Those who are in love will go to any insurmountable
lengths for the sake of their near and dear ones and its capability is touted to be the strongest force in the universe.

‘Sundered: Book 1 of the Land of the Sun trilogy’ by author Linda Ling is a beautiful narration of such power of love, that is not just about two individuals, but between the family as a whole.

Against all odds, King Belkryn married a commoner, Sharuva and made her the queen of Tir’Sunaa. Everything seemed to be perfect as they had three beautiful children and a loving marriage.

But fate had other plans and the unthinkable happens when Queen Sharuva abruptly abandoned her throne and left with her first child only back to a land that had open enmity with her husband.

At the beginning, there was this one question that kept nagging me pertaining why the queen would only take one of her child and run away, leaving the other two behind, especially a girl who would need her more.

But then, as the plot progresses, the story unfolds and we get to see so many different aspects and the situations and there is somewhat clarity to the decision that was taken.

This was brilliantly written book and the quest of Faelyn to help her family and all the new discoveries that she made on her journey was a treat to read. Hence I am going to give this FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sundered is the first book in the land of the sun series and it is a fantastic first book that has made me eagerly look forward to the second book. Sundered is a beautiful fantasy fiction novel where we follow the story of eighteen year old Princess Faelyn trying to convince her father to help her mother and brother who are in danger.

The land of the sun is divided into two kingdoms - the magical kingdom Elvarue, and the technologically advanced kingdom Tir'Sunaa. Faelyn's mother the queen returned to her birth place Elvarue with the crown prince when Faelyn was just a child. Now, how will Faelyn help her mother? Will she find answers to her questions and reunite with her family?

This book is captivating, it is magical and it is filled with adventure as well as emotions. The character development is really good along with the story. There are elements of thrill and mystery and of course fantasy making this book a page turner. The world building is really great, I felt the story unfolding before my eyes. The cover art is beautiful. I totally loved reading this book, it was a gripping read and I finished reading it in no time.

Recently,I finished this book which was a mix read for me.For few pages,I was confused about the characters because of the foreign names but sooner I was in the story.

The story revolved around a kingdom and the way in which the story started made the book more intriguing.I was hooked from the start itself.

The suspense and the feeling of lack of mother was written in a very beautiful manner by the author.

This one will be an easy read for anyone who read foreign authors.Though, for beginners I dont think it will be an easy read.

The pace of the story and the narration by the author is done very well by the author.

This is the book one im the series and I can't wait to read its next parts.

The title is catchy. And the cover design is pleasant and attractive.

Overall,a very good book which I truly enjoyed!

🗡 Fanatsy + Adventure
🗡 Touch of romance with brother's best friend
🗡 Strong FMC
🗡 Multiple POVs

First, I love the names (especially Faelyn) in this book. Secondly, the characters and plot were beautifully developed. It was such a great, easy read! I wished there was a little more romance, but the adventures, twists and turns, and multiple POVs definitely kept the plot moving along. This is book one in the series. As of right now, it seems like a setup book for the next two. (If not, I will update after reading the next book). I look forward to reading book two and seeing the growth of these characters!

I would recommend this book to certain people ✨️

This whole year has been tough reading-wise as I've only had a few books that I really LOVED.

Its nice to have another book to add to that list with Sundered by Linda Ling. Five stars!!!

There's a good amount of worldbuilding upfront that took a bit to get into and internalize. But once I met Princess Faelyn and Khare, I was hooked.

I loved Faelyn's strength, impulsivity, and passionate personality - as I am writing a similar FMC for my second book, I found myself feeling inspired by how well Linda brought her character to life!

I think one reason fantasy can be hit-or-miss for me is because I always want my fantasy to be grounded in real problems that I can relate to. Even though there are kingdoms and magic and cool creatures (I loved the Sarpentii), there also are struggles of finding your identity, unpacking family trauma, and fighting for your voice as a female in a world of male leaders.

There were several POV changes and while sometimes I struggle with keeping up, the shifts were seamless. Each new voice brought a new perspective to the story within this vast world.

I loved the resourcefulness yet imperfections of the characters, the careful reveal of mysteries, and the beautifully engrained magic and worldbuilding

Well done Linda and I can't wait to read Forged!!!

Series: The Land of the Sun Trilogy- book #1
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

Could you fight to rescue someone or a group of people when you feel you had been betrayed by the very person asking you for your help?

This book is not only about princess Faelyn and her family but about a great war that caused a rift between two kingdoms- the magical kingdom of Elvarue and the technologically advanced kingdom of Tir'Sunaa. But when a group of people called the Anarchists attack the kingdom of Elvarue, two riders must travel to the kingdom of Tir'Sunaa to ask the High King Belkryn for help because they don't have enough mages and magic to fight against the Anarchists. King Belkryn wants to decline his help because his wife, Queen Sharuva abruptly leaves with her eldest son, running away to the kingdom of Elvarue with no explanation leaving behind the king, her other two children. Yet who other than his daughter, Princess Faeyln convinces him to help. I really enjoyed so many things about this book and the characters. I thought it was so awesome that the Princess would fight so hard to get her father King Belkryn to help the Kingdom of Elvarue even though her mother had abandoned her father and taken her eldest brother with her when she left for Elvarue. Princess Faelyn is both brave and wise beyond her years and wants to prove that she is more than just a royal figurehead. As the story unfolds, we begin to understand why certain people made certain decisions and what the future holds because of those decisions.

This book has such a great set of characters who develop beautifully throughout the story. The characters pull you in and before you know it you are rooting for them to succeed. This storyline shows what can be accomplished when people are willing to risk everything and fight for the ones they love. I can't wait to read more about these characters and see where this story takes them in book two. I HIGHLY recommend this book, it's one of the best fantasy arcs I've read in 2022.

Sundered is a fantastic fantasy book set in a land divided into two kingdoms. Three hundred years ago, the Declaration of Separation came into existence, forbidding humans from crossing the Myrloc Mountains. Thus, the people from the kingdom in the East (Elvarue, where magic is practiced) can't go to the West (to the technologically advanced kingdom of Tir'Sunaa) and vice versa.

When the Queen runs away from Tir'Sunaa with the crown prince, revealing in her letter that she had been there on a mission under the High Priestess of Elvarue, the royal family is torn apart. Ten years pass, and the youngest daughter of the king of Tir'Sunaa grows up to celebrate her eighteenth birthday. Princess Faelyn wants to know why her mother left her and if she is doing well in Elvarue?

She has a lot of questions about her separated family and she seems close to finding her answers when two riders cross over to Tir'Sunaa from Elvarue requesting the king to help them save the high Priestess and the crown prince! Will the King agree to their request? Will Faelyn get the answers she had been seeking?

This book was a mind blowing read for me and I am in love with this series. This first book of The Land of the Sun series has convinced me to read all the other books in this series. The book is so well written that I was hooked from the first page and this book was literally unputdownable for me. From the prologue to the ending, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

The story is very interesting with elements of mystery, adventure, coming of age and there is magic and creatures as well as different races. I loved how the world building is so great and the kingdoms have a history. I really liked Princess Faelyn's character and all the other characters too are very well developed especially that of Khare and even the creatures have their own personality. The story is amazing and there are no dull moments, there is no part of the book that I think should have been left out of it to make it better or more exciting, it is just perfect as it is. Loved this book and I am excited to read the next part!

Book Review
Title – Sundered
Author – Linda Ling
My Ratings – 4.7/5

You guys know how much I enjoy reading book series; the longer the plot, the more exciting and enjoyable it is to read. Recently, I came across a wonderful book series. The Land of the Sun is the series I'm referring to, and this review is of Book 1 of the series, "Sundered" by Linda Ling.
As soon as I began reading the book, I became interested since it is a work of fantasy, and the description of the "land of the sun" piqued my interest right away. The magical kingdom of Elvarue and the technologically advanced kingdom of Tir'Sunaa are bitter adversaries on opposite sides of the continent known as the Land of the Sun.
King Belkryn made Sharuva, a commoner, the queen of Tir'Sunaa after they were married, illustrating the story's core theme of the power of love. They had a devoted marriage and three lovely children, so everything appeared to be ideal. But fate had other ideas, and the unthinkable happened when Queen Sharuva abruptly abdicated her throne and returned to a country where she and her husband had a history of open hostility with her first child only.
The narrative has a great plot, and I can't wait to read the other two books in the trilogy soon because I'm currently immersed in it. I was hooked to my seat the entire time because of the story's twists and turns and the suitable manner it developed. One may easily fall for the story because it was simple to understand.
Overall, the author did a fantastic job. The character development is another aspect of the narrative that I particularly enjoyed; they were vivid, and I like how the story included a strong love element. I fervently urge each of you to pick up a copy of the book to learn more about the story; it's a good read.

Sundered: Book 1 of the Land of the Sun Triology by Linda Ling

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This novel is Book 1 of the Land of the Sun Triology, and tells the gripping story of Faelyn, Princess of Tir'Sunaa, when word comes into their kingdom that her mother & brother are in danger in Elvarue.

The description of the setting & world building is unlike anything I have ever experienced thus far. I binge read this novel within a day and a half. This rich story and character depth & development had me very eager to finish this book to find out what happens! The ending had an element of surprise (of a new type of "being", never before seen!) 4/5 Stars!

Description:

The Land of the Sun is a continent split in two, with the technologically-advanced kingdom of Tir'Sunaa in the west, and their sworn enemies, the magical kingdom of Elvarue in the east.

Ten years ago, the Queen of Tir'Sunaa tore her family and nation apart when she disappeared with her firstborn, the Crown Prince, and returned to the land of her birth, Elvarue.

This is the first installment in the series named "the Land of the Sun" trilogy. The author has penned down the history and introduction to the world and characters involved in this book in a lucid and easygoing manner as this is the first book in the series and it lets the readers understand and correlate themselves with the different characters stated in the plot.
This a fantasy fiction with amazing turns and twists in the plot. The author has penned down a mesmerizing tale of the protagonist who is receives an unknown letter about her close family members.
The book holds in the tale of our protagonist, who has to act quickly and swiftly to protect her close ones but the mission isn't that simple as it looks on face. The narration of the book is kept simple and easy making it easier for a reader to relate with the character's mindset. Plus the other factors and circumstances in the plot are well portraited and each has well highlighted each time. The plot has several characters involved in it and each and every character has been given sufficient scope to contribute to the plot. The language used is lucid. It's definitely worth reading for all the readers.

Great read.

This is the first book of the land of the sun trilogy. Centuries ago, the Fae, Man, Giants and Serpents lived together in peace, but the evil king Cerberus from Man tried to conquer all. The Fae succeeded in defeating them but everything has a price to pay.

The queen of Tirsunaa fled with her eldest child, the crown prince, to the kingdom of her birth, the magical kingdom, Elvarue. But Elvarue is also the enemy kingdom of Tirsunaa. After eighteen years, the queen's only daughter, princess Faelyn, receives a scary message that her mother and brother are in danger. What will she do? Can she save her family? Or is there another motive behind this?

The prologue is so intriguing and so apt for the kid's imagination. Not only kids but the readers who love to read fantasy will enjoy this. I enjoyed the read. It reminded me of my childhood, how we as children love to read these fantasy stories.

A perfect read for the imaginations of our younger generation.

This book, Sundered written by Linda Ling is a fantasy novel. It is the first book of the trilogy The Land of Sun. I love reading fantasies just because these books will take the readers to a magical world ! This is also one such story and it satisfied me highly !

King Belkrin marries his love of the life, Sharuva. She is the queen of the Kingdom Tir'Sunaa. They lived happily until one day when the queen moved away with her elder son (The Crown Prince) leaving behind her other two children. She settles down in Elvarue, a land which is an enemy kingdom to her husband. Almost after 18 years, the queen's only daughter, Princess Faelyn receives a shocking message that her mother and brother are in danger. Whether her mother and brother are saved? What happens next forms the rest of the story !

The plot was so interesting and I enjoyed reading this beautiful fantasy story ! This book would be a right choice for fantasy lovers !

How in the Sun's name could this book hook me from just the prologue! The more chapters I read, the more I craved to persume, reluctant to pause tracking this exhilirating journey, starting from Tir'Sunaa and reaching Elvarue, which was not at all a journey full of roses but ultimately worth the struggle.

The world-building is more than just captivating. The prose is refined, and the way the story was narrated ensures that no details are left out, that the reader can grasp it all. The depiction of characters, too, was blemishless.

Faelyn is a combination of brick and feather — she was rebellious, obstinate and brave, yet she was compassionate and caring beyond all bounds. She was always curious, rather taking risks than being left behind in the shadows. I loved her bond with Lydia, who seemed more like her best friend than just her handmaiden. I also admired Faelyn's relationship with Faevros, who had always been a brother she could rely on.

When Faelyn confessed her attraction to Khare not so long after the story began, I thought they'd encounter more incidents on the journey together than they actually did. There were barely scenes built for only them two, and it mostly went no farther than normal conversations.

The journey to Elvarue was longer than I expected — I thought more events would take place in Elvarue itself than on the journey to the land, but looking back, none of the events was in vain. I can already anticipate what the second book would be about — perhaps a new adventure for the sake of saving Winyx, the poor fairy captured by the duplicitous Elf.

It is remarkable that the technology evolving in Tir'Sunaa and granting it the power it possesses is just a drop in our ocean, and I couldn't agree more that this techology is our magical wand as natural human-beings, perhaps even more powerful than genuine magic, for even the land of Mages seeked aid from the land of Man.

Thrilled is a little word to describe how eager I am to follow up with Faelyn's coming adventure... This book turned out far better than I expected, indeed.

Wow.✨

Faelyn, the princess of Tir'Sunaa has just turned eighteen and all she wants is to know about her mother and her elder brother who got separated from her ten years ago. The kingdom of Tir'Sunaa is considered the shining epitome of civilization, no one is allowed to go from Tir'Sunaa to the magical kingdom of Elvarue and no one can come from Elvarue to Tir'Sunaa.

Something happened ten years ago that broke the royal family of Tir'Sunaa. The king was heartbroken when he found out that the girl he fell in love with and married, making her the Queen of Tir'Sunaa is from Elvarue. He couldn't forgive her for this deceit and it was worse as she had run away with the crown prince to Elvarue. Now many years later, Faelyn is obsessed with Elvarue and wants to know about the land and the magic but most of all about her mother and her brother.

Sundered is the first book in the land of the sun trilogy. When I started reading this book, I had this feeling that this book is going to be amazing because even the prologue was so interesting and made me curious to know more and every great fantasy starts with a map, so does this one. I was right, this book didn't disappoint me at all and even exceeded my expectations.

First of all, I loved the character of Princess Faelyn, from her beautiful name to her versatile and shining personality, she is a perfect protagonist. She is a tomboy but can be graceful and bewitching when required. Secondly, I really liked the imaginative and adventurous story with many layers. Thirdly, it is a great fantasy book with an amazing world building, I say this because this book easily makes you a part of its world.

The cover art makes much more sense now that I have read the book and I admire it so much. Reading this book was a beautiful experience, I was so immersed in it that I lost the track of time. If you are looking for a new fantasy series that you can devour, go ahead with this one, you won't regret it.

This is the first book in an exciting new series - The Land Of The Sun Trilogy.

The Land of the Sun is split into two sections - Tir'Sunaa in the west who are technologically advanced and the magical Elvarue in the east.
Long sworn enemies since the Queen of Tir'Sunaa fled with her son to her homeland in the east.

When the princess hears that her mother and brother are in mortal danger, she has to embark on a perilous journey to try and save and Reunite her family.

I found this quite a quick and easy read given it's a fantasy book.
Maybe being aimed at a YA audience and being broken down into the three books, allowed this to be presented in a shorter form than usual for this genre.

The writing style flowed beautifully with a good amount of world building woven into the character introduction and storyline.

The descriptive writing certainly makes for a vivid image of the settings and made me feel totally immersed in the drama and action of the mission itself.

A really great start to this series and an enjoyable read - I'm looking forward to seeing where the journey takes us in book 2.

Thank you to the author and Hazel’s Booktours for sharing a copy of this book with me in exchange for an honest review !!

A brand new fantasy book with romance, mystery, magic and war and some of the tropes we all love. The world is compelling and constantly shifting with species and people.
It didn’t take me a lot to get into it, especially considering the fact that the author put a general prologue of the world building and history at the very beginning of the book
Fighting, found family, relationships and prophecies… all leading to an inevitable war that sooner or later our characters will have to face !! So many new people and friends to make in this atmosphere that I found amazing for a fantasy !!
The ending left me more than a little bit curious about the future these characters will have to face!!!

Reading the blurb and reviews of the book, you might think that you have understood the story to a great extent, but it is not. The book is even more spectacular than the blurb. This is a amazingly written book on the fantasy world, very different from the stories you might have read by now. It's full of adventure and a mystery-packed story that follows princess faelyn family and her family. First time reading this author and definitely will continue. Good from beginning to end because the twist and turns in the book had my head spinning. The plot was great it feels like the story was over way too soon. one more thing that I would like to appreciate is the imagination power of the author, the way she created this world is appreciable. There wasn't a page that didn't hold your complete attention. There is a lot in the book that will make this book memorable for you.

I loved this book ❤

The first volume of the Land of the Sun trilogy is titled Sundered. I was eager to read this book because of the trilogy's name. And it didn't let me down. I was utterly drawn into the novel.

Kingships and kingdoms are essential to the plot. The narration of the narrative is exquisite, and it was immaculate from the first page to the last. I had already entered the rollercoaster ride due to twists and turns turns. The language is pretty advanced.

Those searching for a quick read will need to focus very hard to understand everything in this book. The story plot and characters are introduced in the first book. You must clear your thoughts before starting this book, in order to follow the story's pacing.

The book began as an idea some 10-12 years ago. I completed two-thirds of the rough draft and encountered massive writer's block due to life circumstances. That writer's block only unplugged in 2020, in part due to restrictions from COVID-19, and in part due to my kids, who demanded I complete Faelyn's story. And I did. This is the first book in the trilogy series, and I have so much more to tell. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I've enjoyed writing it and seeing it in the pages of an actual book.
