Jerry McNeal #7

Wicked Winds

Rate this book
In this seventh installment of the Jerry McNeal Series, Jerry and Gunter travel to Salem, Massachusetts to track down yet another victim of the Hash Mark Killer.

Finding a ghost in a city known for its haunted past isn’t hard – finding the precise spirit they are looking for proves to be slightly more difficult. Once discovered, they must begin the tricky task of convincing the woman she truly is dead.

If things aren’t challenging enough, Jerry’s intuition has him questioning his own personal safety as he and Gunter are now on Mario Fabel’s stomping grounds.

While Fabel has not threatened him, it doesn’t take special powers to know there is more to the man than meets the eye.
Will Jerry and his ghostly K-9 partner be able to slip in and out of the area undetected, or will the man with a reach deeper than his pockets find them and make Jerry an offer he cannot refuse?

Former Trooper Bud Light

I really believe this author has a sponsorship from Budweiser because anyone in this series who drinks beer drinks Bud Light. It could be this author has no knowledge of good beer and she watched a commercial for Bud and thought that was the only kind of beer on the market. This series is easy reading about a very average trooper who sees and speaks to ghosts, but is accompanied by a very smart dog ghost who keeps him safe. The main character has a bad habit of rubbing his head when he is in a difficult situation that he has a hard time handling or understanding, which is a most of the time.

Protecting others in many ways

Jerry and Gunter face some more obstacles on their path to finding the serial killer and bringing closure to the victims. This time it is Fabel and another source that takes a while to figure out. The information from the new duo following Jerry is fascinating as it shows that there are others like Jerry and there is a government component available to help. Granny makes several appearances and so does a new victim, who unfortunately didn’t know she was dead. Fabel and Jerry reach an understanding and Gunter was entertaining and protective as ever. This was a quick and enjoyable read!

Can't stop reading!

Great story about former Marine and PA Stste Trooper, Jerry McNeal and his K-9 partner, Gunter, who happens to be a ghost. Jerry and Gunter continue there quest to help the spirits left behind by a serial killer, and to bring closure to them and their families by finding out their stories and where they are buried. This time, they go to Salem, MA, where there are spirits galore! Not only that, Jerry must deal with live humans who may want to harm him. Go, Jerry and Gunter! I'm rooting for you!

Another great read!!

I can't get enough of these books! I'm going to be heartbroken when I get to the last one! This time Jerry and Gunter come to Salem to find another victim who's body has never been found and along the way Jerry finds out who Fred and Barney really are, and has a run in with Fabel! Also finds out that his good buddy and old boss, Seltzer, could be in danger of losing his job because of covering for Jerry on numerous occasions, and Jerry may have to make a career decision to keep his old friend and boss, safe!

Wow!

Mrs Burton does it again. This series has been a wild ride with enough spirits to go around. It seems Salem, Mass. has been known for their ghost stories and Jerry got to hear and see a few of them this time around. But he has a job to do and trying to outsmart those watching him and finding the victim has led him in many directions and even his grandmother came to help him with this one. So onward and into the next story.

Love It!!

Jerry and Gunter are such a fabulous twosome. Gunter is one great dog. I wish my dog listened half as well. I know, it's a book and you can make him do whatever. Rosie is a stinker of a ghost although she's not the main character this this time. This time it more about the people trying to get Jerry. But with Gunter by his side no one is going to get too close. Fantastic job! Thank you so much.

love the main characters but….

I’m binge reading this series and there’s a couple of phrases that repeat so often that it is a distraction from what is, otherwise, a great series. Jerry, the main character, “rolls his neck” or “passes his hand over his head” it seems like a every two pages! I wish I kept count but it’s often enough to be annoying. I’m surprised an editor or proofreader didn’t bring it to the author’s attention. Otherwise, a good series.

Jerry and his ghostly K9 companion/partner head to Salem to try to track down what they now call the Hash Mark Killer, because he carves a line on his chest like a hash mark for each of his victims. When he finds the victim, he must notify her that she is dead. He has a run in with a man named Fabel, and while the man hasn't threatened him, there is something there that concerns Jerry. Jerry uses his skill and the help of his ghost K9 partner to set things right.

Continuing to enjoy Jerry and Gunter on their quest to find a serial killer and hoping to help the ghosts of his victims find peace. This time he is challenged big time by a shadow government group wanting to know what Jerry is up to and the "criminal" Fabel who wants the killer because of Fabel's sister's death. Hard to find a ghost when so many other people are getting in the way.

The ghosts want the killer stoped as does Jerry and his ghostly partner!

Salem! A place where innocent people were killed as witches! A woman was murdered there, not a witch! A man who can talk to ghosts! Lovely series so now I have to wait for the next one!😐 If you are reading this series? Happy waiting for bk. 8!

Addictive.

You should know that when you start reading this series it's like someone just handed you a bag of your favorite potato chips and they're so good that you just can't stop eating them. I read the first 6 books within 2 or 3 days and then I had to wait so lonnng for this one. All I can say is please hurry! I need more Jerry and Gunter!

Wicked Winds by Sherry A. Burton

This is Book 7 in the Jerry McNeal series. Wow, number 7, and I am still want to see where Jerry McNeal and Gunter are heading. I love the interaction between the two. For someone who has never liked dogs, these two are quite the team. Read on and see what case they get mixed up next. I'm sure am looking forward to it!

Wonderful Series

This book along with all the first books of the series is great fun, very entertaining and delightful. You wouldn't think a book about a serial killer could be as entertaining and interesting, but the books are. Take the time to read the first one and you will be glad as long as you have a sense of humor, enjoy the spirit the books provide.

Hard to put down

So far, I have read 7 books of this series, and I'm not looking forward to the next few books. Not because the stories are bad but because I enjoy every page, every word. Ms. Sherry, you know how to grab your readers and never let go. Please keep writing about these characters.

zThese are quick books to read and smile

At first I was frustrated because there never seemed to be a solid ending. Now, I just consider each book another couple of days in Jerry and Gunther’s lives trying to find a killer, helping spirits get peace. They are actually fun reading.

I am continuing to enjoy psychic Jerry and Gunter, the ghost K-9 police dog, as they help a number of ghosts as well as the living whose lives are touched by said ghosts find some peace and solace. A number of laugh out loud moments to be found in this series as both human and dog negotiate their own relationship

Shepherds rule

These books should be made into a TV series. It would definitely be hit! My last Shepherd was Max and was my fishing buddy and before him was Riggs. Now after saying no more because it takes a piece of my heart when I have to say goodbye. We now have Kodi Lee and he even sleeps like Gunter. Love him just like all the others.
Books are definitely great reads!

Another great book. Jerry is offered a job by the 'men in black' but hasn't as yet made up his mind whether to take it.
Rosie had been told that she is dead and now living as a ghost in Salem, so what does she do, take a job in the village of Salem ghosts, scaring the sightseers. What could be better?

The Jerry McNeal series book 7

I Love the main story plot with Jerry and his ghost dog, many times the things that happen between Jerry and Gunter make me laugh out loud. But, also the small stories of people he meets on his travels are just as entertaining. Like Fred and Barney!! Looking forward to book 8 and Jerry heading to Mystic, Connecticut looking for a missing niece.

silly

Although I really enjoy this series, I found parts of this one to be just silly. Not because of ghosts and spirits but probably I expected some of the activities to be less…..I don’t know, maybe far fetched? I’ll continue with the series because I like the theme, and I like the characters.

Score!!

MS Burton scored another hit!! This series is one of the most enjoyable and entertaining that I have read in a long time. Even though it is about paranormal and ghosts the story just flows so naturally. I absolutely recommend this series, I can't wait for the next one.

If you ever owned and loved a dog....

I love how this series just flows together
if you read them in order.

The stories are great and I can just see my old friend (Sebastian a King German Shepherd) acting just like Gunter.

I didn't see it coming.

A little too easy to find the ghost/ body but a nice set up to continue the quest without repeating the same pattern. Ready for the next move. Onward to Connecticut.
