"Come on, Skye. One last hurrah.” In the small lake town of Whitefield, Georgia, music addict & avid rom-com watcher, Skye Williams, and her best friend, Becca, decide to live out their one last hurrah by creating a bucket list. Seventeen tasks to complete before summer comes to an end... simple enough, right? They must host a 4th of July party, crash a wedding, graffiti some walls, and above all--have their best summer yet.
Some unexpected things come into play, such as a near swan attack and Becca’s older brother, Brody, returning from college. Skye & Brody’s rekindled friendship threatens to become something more as the summer goes on and the list is getting checked off one by one.
In One Last Hurrah, you'll experience friendship—both old and new—laughter, a giant plastic rooster, plenty of ice cream & coffee to go around, life from new heights, dance parties, days on the lake, and fireworks... maybe even in more ways than one.
I can’t believe this was written by a teenage debut author! It was cute and fun and I had the best time reading it - I couldn’t put it down! It was definitely one of those “one more chapter” books for me!
I feel like Skye and I are kindred spirits. One Last Hurrah had all my fave pop culture references TayTay (Folklore is my fave album), Camp Rock & the JoBros, the Proposal, Miley Cyrus Party in the USA…I just loved every single minute of it. Not to mention my two favourite tropes friends to lovers and best friend’s brother.
I highly recommend reading One Last Hurrah, you won’t regret it!
I loved all the characters so much , the fact it had a playlist after each chapter and different quotes as well!
After reading this book I was like” when is it my turn”🥲😭. But the different activities they had to do for their summer list kept me intrigued and wanting to know more .💞 definitely a comfort read that I will read again . <3
Haley!!! As you’re best friend I am so beyond proud of you!!! This book is absolutely amazing and I would read it more than once over and over again since it is that good! This book is everything I imagined it to be and more❤️❤️
OMG! this book is an amazing little summer rom con and omg i loved it. i read it practically a day, i bought this as a signed copy and i don’t regret it at all! i will be buying her next book, head over broken heels, after my book buying ban is over 😭
Perfect summer feel-good read! As her debut novel, Haley’s ability to truly capture small town best friends is perfect! Definitely makes me want to make a bucket list and maybe even crash a wedding. This is going to be perfect for my junior high book club.
I feel like this book is definitely for a younger audience. It's more like elementary or middle school, but that still doesn't take away from how cute this book is.
I read this book in one setting, and it was absolutely adorable in every way! As the first book published by the author, Haley Brown did an wonderful job of making the reader feel like they were immersed in the adventures of the characters as they finished their summer bucket list and “one last hurrah” together!
This was such a fun and lighthearted book 🌤️ The story follows Skye and Becca, best friends for years who wanted to spend the summer making memories together before the start of college. The reader follows along the story with personalized playlists/doodles marking the beginning of each chapter, while the end includes a visual of the written checklist that the girls continue to complete through the book 💗 The formatting of the story sets up each chapter to focus as the summer crew completes a new section of the bucket list, so reading it almost felt like watching a TV sitcom – while every chapter was a continuation of the story, they felt individualized as they jumped throughout various parts of the summer. This was such a fun way to read along, and I loved how each section of the bucket list got its own special story to tie everything together!
I also LOVE childhood friends to lovers, which is exactly what the main romantic plot focused on! While the story as a whole was about friends, summer vacation, and living life to the fullest, I found myself rooting for Skye and her best friend’s brother Brody since the start. Their chemistry was undeniable, and it was adorable to see how their personalities and friendship blossomed into the cutest relationship.
Overall, if you’re looking for a book that brings you all of the summertime vibes, this one is for you!
This was such a cute romance. I loved that the author included playlists for each chapter and included cut little drawings throughout the book. I really liked the dynamic between all the characters and I definitely recommend this book. It had references to Taylor Swift and Harry Styles and quite a few other artists. Read this book.
This book got me out of a huge reading slump and I read it in one sitting!!! It was so fun and I couldn’t put it down. I loved all the movie quotes, pop culture references and playlists. A Great Summer read!!!
If you need a happy pick me up read this book is perfect!!! I love that her best friend isn't mad or upset that she is in love with her brother. It was a perfect cute summer! 😀

I absolutely loved this book. It is one of my first teen-romance stories and was every thing I could hope and more. There are a lot of parallels to the kissing booth movies which helped me set a lot of mental images up. As a girl raised in the south I found the story to be very relatable, with many slangs or phrases commonly used down here. The characters are very relatable to the point that you can see yourself as one or more of them. There are also many funny moments in this book that kept me laughing hysterically. I 100% recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
Was a super cute summer read, I feel like it is definitely geared more towards middle school/high school age kids. Being in my mid 20s I just really struggled to stay interested the whole duration of the book.
A fun little summery read. Having read the author’s other two books first, you can really see how much she’s grown S a writer. Her style is very easy going, conversational, and conversational.
Although this is a very YA book, it was a nice quick entertaining read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I wanted to read more indie books this year so when I saw this book pop up on my fyp I knew I had to buy it!! This story was so cute and definitely got me in the mood for spring/summer 🫶 I love the best friends brother trope and this book was no exception! I’ve been reading a lot of spicy books lately (in my opinion) so this book being no spice only fluff was much needed!! I graduated from high school two years ago and i can definitely relate to having no plans after high school and being the introvert friend meanwhile my best friends are extroverts and moved away for college so this book makes me hopeful that we can make the most of our time together again and have some fun trying something new!! If you like the fluffy small town best friends brother trope with a hint of Taylor Swift and some popular movie quotes I highly recommend this book!

hated: ‧₊˚playlist for EACH chapter - jsut over the top ‧₊˚the writing style ‧₊˚the characters
overall review: ‧₊˚this was too middle school to me, i just didn’t really vibe with it. the writing style and the characters both kind of fell flat for me. i felt like the plot was just not there- there was no conflict nor resolution. i probably would’ve loved this in middle school just not now.
