Control dinosaurs. Tame women. Rule the world.

With Victor’s new home secured, the tribe begins the process of building out their new fort. What should be a simple task is complicated by a nearby group of both peaceful and hostile survivors, and Victor soon finds himself preparing his tribe of beautiful women to directly battle their most powerful opponent ever.

Disclaimer: This book has ravaging dinosaurs, a lot of cursing, extreme violence, and a harem of exotic alien women. The novel is not meant for people under the age of 18.

For the sake of this review, let's compare each of the books in this series to a pretty tasty sandwich. There's nothing wrong with a good sandwich... in fact, some sandwiches can be great. However, sandwiches aren't really a complete meal on their own. They're more of a light lunch, and while they are tasty, they won't keep you satisfied for long. Soon you'll either be wanting another sandwich, or something more substantial.

When this series was producing a book a month, it was kind of like reaching for another sandwich to stave off that hunger and being satisfied with what you got. However, with a near 18-month gap between novels, suddenly I'm no longer a peckish reader looking for a sandwich, I'm a starving man looking for a hearty, nutritious, three-course meal only to be delivered yet another sandwich. After all this time, it doesn't really matter how tasty that sandwich is, it's not enough to satisfy my hunger.

This book was disappointing for exactly this reason. Instead of moving the plot forward in any substantive way, this was yet another shuffling step of plot progression rather than the giant leap that this series desperately needed. I won't go so far as to call it filler, but it is really familiar to what we have already read in this series. Victor is yet again trying to secure a base for himself and his women, he will have yet more dinosaur fights with no stakes because we all know he will succeed, and of course, his harem will grow a little further.

I'm not saying this book is bad, because it's not. It's always fun to be back in this world with Victor, his wives and of course his dinosaurs, but at some point, I want to see this series start to go somewhere new, and this book doesn't deliver on that. This might have been fine back in the good old days when this series was more like episodes of a tv-show, the goal of each one being only to entertain you long enough to want to come back next month, but after so long, I still feel like this story is just getting started and it's showing no signs of progressing any further.

The crazy thing is there's still so much ground to cover. At some point Victor needs to finish building his base, then secure his footing in his area, then deal with the giant tribe that has been teased to us for so long, then secure his destiny as king of dinosaur land... oh, and while we're at it, let's not forget the alien race that kicked all this off in the first place. We still don't know who they are, why they brought these people together, and what larger story this is a part of. What I'm saying is that even if the story progression upped the pace from the shuffling of an arthritic old woman to the flat-out sprinting of Usain Bolt, we still would have plenty of books ahead of us and this series wouldn't be ending any time soon.

Ultimately, I've gobbled down my sandwich and it barely touched the sides, but I'm still a hungry man waiting for my dinner. For that reason, I can't give this one more than 3-stars as I settle in to wait for the next course.

Just couldn't find the groove on this one
I think this one was on me. I had a lot of other stuff going on, and every time I picked this book back up I just wasn't in the mood for it.
It's been over a year since I read book #7 and I was struggling to remember who all these people were. Wile Victor had a lot less trouble with the bay guys this time, I felt like we'd done this 'Kill the big meanie' song and dance all before. I snoozed through the Dino fights and skipped the sex scenes.

Once again, I'm 90% sure that this was my head not being in the game, but it took me 20 days to read this because most days I just wasn't into it. I bet you that when I reread the whole series non-stop I'll love this book just as much as the rest, but... for today I'm glad it's behind me.
(still looking forward to Monster Empire 3)

I’m a fan on the Tamer series, but the storyline has fallen into a rut. I’m looking forward to the story evolving and the aliens explaining what’s going on. I’ve never been a fan of the whole harem thing and the overly detailed sex is something I just skip over. The adult situations are important I realize; however, that’s not why I read these books. For me, implied is more effective than spending time and numerous pages describing sex acts which add nothing to the characters and story.
There is however, lots of action and the dinosaurs are entertaining. I enjoy Victor’s tribe and the struggles building their camp and expanding their territory.

Another fun book in the Tamer series. Enjoyable in the fast movement and constant action of the previous Tamer series as we continue to follow Victor on his exploits in Dinosaur land.
In this book, we find new tribes, continue to establish the new fort, add new dinosaurs to the herd and add a new tribe member to Victor’s Eye-Q list. The book has a nice mix of exploration and adventure with a strategic component to take on the new tribes. We even get to see Jinx and Bruce get some extra attention in the story.
Like I have said before, these books deliver exactly what they promise. A fun, fast paced adventure with dinosaurs, powered individual and beautiful women. If you want more, you may be disappointed but in that is what you are looking for, you will be well rewarded.
I can’t wait to see what the next book had in store.

- Overall a really good read. One of the best among it's genre. Reading alongside the audiobook is definitely the best experience.
- From the beginning, I realized immediately I've missed this series. Fight scenes right from the first chapters put me right back into why I loved this series. Im more used to traditional fantasy creatures, since this is more scifi it's a bit cooler and different.
- The audiobook does really well in conveying emotions, even in narration mode. I feel this series is very high quality. Quirks and cadence of different characters could only come through with the audio and it adds tremendously to the reading experience.
- After almost a year of finishing the last book, this book does really well in reintroducing the numerous characters in a seamless way. I get reminded of all their abilities and many of how each character looked as well.
- I love that Victor uses his smarts to out wit a normally impossible opponent rather than the MC always getting stronger and the threat become meaningless.
- The sex scene was amazing too. The way this author writes is what I like. It makes me want to check out his other books
- A knitpick I have is that Victor kept wondering too often of "How fucking crazy his life was" multiple times throughout the first few chapters and over the book. I also feel that it's at the point of there being too many girls and not enough time to flesh them out. This book did not get to the people I wanted to know more about.

Another good book in this series.
It could still have some less sex scenes, as I want more of the story. With only about 3 chapters of the whole book beeing used, its alright. The biggest problem with it was through, that the book started with 2 chapters like this. This made it a bit hard to start or rather quickly read through them, to get to the actual story.
The story parts themself were nice. We meet some new people, we killed some old and new people. We also got some new dinos into the team including some foreshadowing, at leas I hope so. There were also some new people added to the tribe and this time even some men, so not all men are bad :)
Last but not least, we have got somewhat solid proof on how to improve abilitys, which might lead to interesting developments, if the author so wills

So It begins. Victor, king of Dinoland and his tribe go once again into the breach as they tame new dinosaurs, level up their EyeQ, make new friends, kill the baddies and ehem "enjoy his life with his mates." The cliff hanger at the end is great and leaves me wishing the next book was out already.

Victor and his tribe begin settling into their new location. New, powerful allies are made, along with new enemies. By the end the tribe is a little bigger, the area is a bit safer, and the mystery behind this strange world is a lot bigger.

I know what I'm getting into when reading these so I shouldn't be disappointed that it delivers. But... This one just seemed to be coasting on the previous books. I wish it had progressed the story more but that was not in the cards. Not a bad book in the series just not a great one.

The fight at the end was great but the rest of the book could have used more like that.

3.5 to maybe 4 stars, I do like this series but this one may have been a little weak compared to the other books.
