My patch brothers left me to rot in the hands of our enemy. They didn’t bother to make sure I was dead before they buried an empty box in remembrance of me.
I’ve been tortured, brainwashed, and broken in every way possible by René. He intends to turn me into an animal. A primal beast, his to command.
When a routine prison transfer turns into an escape opportunity, I take it.
I run until I can’t anymore.
My body finally gives out on a large farm and when I wake, there’s a beautiful woman standing over me.
She runs and like the animal I am, I capture her.
I can’t trust her to keep me being here a secret, I can’t trust anything but my instincts.
Now with the fear of being captured weighing heavy on my mind, I have to decide if I can go back to the life I once had or if I’m going to complete the mission René groomed me for, getting rid of my so-called brothers once and for all.
Rae is a daydreamer, nurse, bookworm, nature enthusiast, wife, momma, animal activist and an optimist. She has lived her entire life in NYC and loves to travel with her family. She believes that sweets should have a larger piece of the nutritional pyramid and that Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of the best TV shows ever invented. When she is not working as a nurse in her community, she can either be found reading, writing, or taking a walk while listening to music. She has been writing books in her mind for as long as she can remember but decided that maybe there were others out in the world that would find joy in the words she would put down on the page.
Wow poor Clay how I have waited to see the outcome of his kidnapping. Who wouldnt be as tortured as he is after all his suffered..how is there anything that the club can say or do to make any of this right he was literally forgotten about. Having suffered torture at the hands of Rene and becoming a Gladiator for some high powered sickos he befriends fellow Gladiator Ansel who shares stories of his farm and younger sister Faylynn who becomes Clays only salvation as he goes through his days just hoping that he may be free to finally find the beauty he sees in his dreams. This book had me in tears how poor Faylynn searched so hard for her brother and this chance meet with Clay finally brings her some closure aswell as comfort in the arms of Clay which I think they both need. Definitely did not disappoint with this book.
The story would be good if it weren't for so many errors. Rae B. Lake gave a character the name Ansel and she misspelled it several times in the book. There were a bunch of misplaced quotation marks. I've read several of her books, and it's the same trainwreck every time. Even though I want to know what is going to happen next, I think that I'm done. I'm sure the readers would be willing to wait a little longer for release if it meant that the books were written better.
Thought to be dead, Clay was no longer the man his MC thought he was. After being taken by Rene and Mr. Giles, he was turned into an animal. He was brainwashed to believe that his MC left him and didn’t care about him. During this time, he met another man, Ansel who took Clay under his wing to show him how to survive. Clay was one of the best there was. To get through everything, Ansel would tell Clay about his sister, Faylynn and how good she was. Clay is finally able to escape the clutches of Rene and Mr. Giles, but how will he be? He runs to the only place he thinks he will be safe – Faylynn’s. Faylynn has problems of her own – she’s been looking for her brother for 3 years and no one wants to help her. She has a crazy guy continuing to think he can do whatever he wants with her and will not take no for an answer. When Clay and Faylynn’s paths cross, what will happen? Will Clay continue to go after Archer and the brothers of the MC?
Drama, betrayal, vengeance, brainwashing, anger, anxiety, patience, and frustration made it very hard for me to put this down until I finished it. I really hope there is more to this series. I love this author and cannot wait to see what comes out next! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved the book but I was disappointed with the ending. I really wanted to see Clay find his brothers and figure out what happened even though they had some fighting to do it.
Clay: A Wings of Diablo MC -New Orleans Chapter Book 7) by Rae B. Lake is not for the faint of heart, it is dark, raw, gritty and emotional. Clay's story is heart wrenching as you witness all of the pain and horrific horrors this man had to go through in order to survive.
Left behind by his brothers, told they didn't care about searching for him he now learns they think he is dead. Now Clay has no hope of escaping his prison as he is tortured and beaten into submission for two years. Now she tells him he needs to seek out his brothers and learn the truth. Once he is reunited with his brothers, the truth is revealed but Clay still needs his revenge on both men as he tells Archer everything he knows. Will they be successful in getting Rene? Will Clay and Faylynn find happiness together? With all of the drama and chaos that surrounds the Wings of Diablo MC, will they finally end this threat? Can't wait for the next book in the series to learn the fate of everyone involved.
Clay is an emotional and jam packed story. It was too short and left me wanting more! There were alot of grammatical errors but you were still able to get the gist of the story. Clay was last seen alive when Archer,Clay and the rest of his brothers were trying to rescue their women who were kidnapped. They thought he was killed and had to earn to carry on without him. Clay was kidnapped, brainwashed, tortured and trained to be a "feral killer" by Rene for 2 long years. Rene was able to brainwash Clay into thinking he was left on purpose and is being trained to kill Archer and the rest of his WOD. The goal is to kill or be killed! He slowly looses himself. He befriended a foe named Ansel who constantly spoke about his sister Faylene and the farm. During a transfer he and Ansel tried to escape but unfortunately Ansel was killed. Clay was able to escape and found his way to Faelyn and the farm. Through love and kindness she was able to brake down his walls slowly. He actively searched for a way to get revenge against his old mc. He overhears a conversation between Archer and learns that Rene may have lied to him. He still hears Rene in his head telling him they are traitors and need to die! Faelyn is able to convince him to meet up with his brothers and learn the truth. Upon learning the truth he reunites and vows to get his revenge against Rene and any threat against them. Through it all Faelyn is the one beside him who helps Clay learn to find himself. Will Clay and Faelyn get their hea? Will they be successful in finding and killing Rene ? Are there more threats against WOD MC- New Orleans? Stay tuned!.

Clay is one of the most intriguing books in the Wings of Diablo Louisiana series. It is book number seven (7) and is totally awesome. These are not standalone books and are very engaging with compelling characters that we love from the previous books in the series. This particular chapter of the WoD is my favorite as they are good guys who are imperfectly perfect. They do the right thing the wrong way, and Clay is no exception. He does the right thing the wrong way in exponentially terrifying and understandably horrifying ways. It is incredible that he finds a woman who can understand and Center him in Ainsel's sister. She is strong, intelligent, hardworking, and a complete badass. She understands what Clay needs and gives it to him in spades. She is the reason he can come back to the WoD. With tons of action, hard fast romance, suspense, a little MC action, characters that engage you and keep you reading, and lots of family vibes, this book is fantastic!
The fight against the bad guys in this series is not over. Giles remains out there somewhere, and they need to find him as Nico and Clay are both still at risk, as is everyone they love. I can hardly wait for the next book in this series.

This series continues to amaze it’s readers and the emotional journey of these men and the women they love will continue to unfold in their epic stories for redemption, revenge, and happiness!
Clay has literal been through hell and back. His world has imploded and he’s been so lost within his head that he can’t figure out what way to go now that he has escaped. Faelynn has been searching for her brother Ansel since he vanished and she has hoped that one day she would receive closure. When Clay shows up at the farm she is terrified but also intrigued by this broken man. When she learns about his connection to Ansel she knows she can’t leave him. She needs to make him while again and with the help of The Wings she knows she can bring him back from the darkness.
Their story is dark and dangerous but the commitment and love for each other will make them overcome any barrier they face. This story is intense and will leave your heart breaking for Clay and his struggles but The Wings don’t give up on their families and they won’t give up on Clay. Their fight isn’t over yet but as long as they are together there is nothing they can’t overcome. Happy Reading!!
Tortured and brainwashed, Clay spots and opportunity to escape and takes it without hesitation. He heads for the one place that has been his spark of hope since before he lost his friend in the hell he’d been living in. Stumbling upon Faelynn, he is torn between fear of being caught and returned to his jailers and the hope that he might actually be free. Bonding through the loss of her brother and his friend, Faelynn sees the man and the beast inside of Clay, but it doesn’t scare her. She doesn’t know how but she just knows he won’t hurt her. She becomes his guiding light as he battles against the orders he was given before he escaped.
Will Clay find his way back to his brothers and the MC? Will he ever be able to make peace with the things he has been forced to do while in captivity? Is there really a future for him and Faelynn or will she run when she sees just how much of an animal he can be?
This is the 7th and final book of the Wings of Diablo series. There’s a lot,of action which I like. The story was about Clay. Left behind, his brothers thinks he’s dead but he’s brainwashed into thinking they him. Clay is tortured and beaten for two years. He’s been programmed to hate his NC who think he’s dead. Finally another prisoner helps him become a fighter. The story was overwhelmingly heartbreak ending and the beginning was difficult but once he’s free it get’s better. It’s hard to review a book favourably, even an arc that was not proofed at all. We expect some errors and are happy to help but this was particularly bad. No one, wants to be constantly taken from their read with missing words, bad grammar, unfinished sentences or sentences that don’t make sense ☹️.

This is the seventh book in this incredible series, and this is Clay and Faylynn’s journey. Clay has been tortured, brainwashed, and broken while he is help captive, but he has a saviour is Ansel, who took him under his wing and taught him how to survive. When Clay gets a chance to escape, he takes it, and runs to a farm which Ansel would tell him about, and his sister who lives there. Can Clay and Faylynn heal each other? Will Clay contact his brothers in the MC who he has been led to believe gave up on him? This is a well written story which has secrets, trust, survival, family, drama, betrayal, vengeance, emotions, romance, twists, danger, suspense, intrigue, and love, which leads to a riveting and addictive page turner. A dark MC romance read! I been waiting for Clay’s story and is was so worth the wait. He was a member of the Wings of Diablo - New Orleans Chapter MC and he was thought to be dead until another member saw him alive. He was tortured and learned to survive the hell that he was force to endure and found a comrade in Ansel. When he got the chance to escape he ran to the one place that he deemed safe and finds Faylynn, Ansel’s sister. Will he finally find peace or will the voice in his mind keep him going after the club that was once his family? One click to find out in this gritty, emotional, heartbreaking and action packed addition to the series that doesn’t disappoint and I can’t wait for more.
Heed the trigger warnings for this book, it deals with some tough topics. Clay had been taken by the enemies of the MC and his death faked. The MC believed he was dead and Clay was put into Gladiator fights. Forced to fight for his life, Clay shuts down and loses his mind. While in the pits his only companion and friend is Ansel. Ansel tells him stories about his home on the ranch and his sister, Faelynn. When Clay is rescued/escaped he goes to Faelynn and she is able to help him put his mind back together. Eventually he is able to forgive his MC brothers and start putting his life back together. This is a dark romance and that can be difficult to read at times.

I love the Wings of Diablo - New Orleans series, you are glued to your book from start to finish. I felt very sorry for Clay and everything he had to go through, the trauma he suffered in prison. The structure and storyline are well described, the only thing I regretted that the ending was so abrupt you actually have an open ending and also a lot of questions of does he take revenge on his old MC brothers and does he find the sister? But also where did he go after the bus he was being transported in had an accident and he escaped because of it. But beyond those questions, I love Rae B Lake's books and hope there's a sequel to Clay's fare and whether he carries on with his revenge.

Clay is a member of the Wings of Diablo MC - New Orleans Chapter and he is caught and told that his brothers don't care that he's caught and they leave him. Rene is a sick person and starts to use mind games against Clay to kill the other members of the MC he belonged to. He spends two years fighting like an animal. Clay meets Faylynn when he saves her but she can tell that he's more animal than person. Will she be able to help Clay through the voices that keep telling him to kill Archer? Clay is reunited with his MC and he learns the truth. Will he be able to take out Rene? Can he heal enough to be happy with Faylynn? What an action pack story. Great book.

This is Book 7 in the Wings of Diablo-New Orleans Chapter Series and my first read by this author, and I must say that I quite enjoyed the storyline and the characters. It is an emotional romance between Clay and Faelynn. These flawed characters and the gripping storyline make for an interesting read. It is a thrill ride full of danger, suspense, violence, steam, and an abundance of action, enemies, twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. An engaging page turner. It can be read as a standalone but you enhance your reading pleasure if you read the other books in the series.

I don't usually leave reviews but I feel the need to, this book kept me on my toes and made me bite my nails down. We had some issues in the beginning but with patients and a little wait it was worth every nail I lost hehe 😃 What can I say this book is the best I've read, I fell in love with clay and fae from the beginning. The way the book is written and the way Rae writes it's like You're there in the story experiencing everything. The anger, anxiety and frustration you go through to get to the happily ever after feels real. I can't wait to read more books by Rae. Thank you xx
I have been waiting on this book for what feels like forever—since finding out Clay was still alive. We are along for the ride as he endures tortures, abuses, and brainwashing. The only thing keeping him going was his friend, fellow prisoner Ansel, and Ansel’s stories of his sister Faelynn and their farm. I like how Faelynn is able to read him pretty quickly. She can get through to him when he goes feral. He really is feral. Two years in captivity made him that. I really like how she tau to him to bring out that side of him so he can let loose—because it is something he needs. Very yummy.

I have been waiting for this story, nd for the most part it didn't disappoint. Clay: A Wings of Diablo MC -New Orleans Chapter Book 7) by Rae B. Lake is not for the faint of heart, it is dark, raw, gritty and emotional. Tortured and brainwashed, Clay spots and opportunity to escape and takes it without hesitation. He heads for the one place that has been his spark of hope since before he lost his friend in the hell he’d been living in, home to Faelyn his "friends" sister. Bonding through the loss of her brother and his friend, Faelynn sees the man and the beast inside of Clay, but it doesn’t scare her.
Not my favorite of the series, but OK. The story was about Clay. Left behind, his brothers think he’s dead but he’s been tortured and brainwashed for 2 years and believes his MC left him and knew he was alive. Now with his mind so warped, he escapes but wants revenge. I have to agree with the other reviewers about the lack of editing. When you except an ARC, you expect a certain amount of that, but this was a lot. Hard to get through. Since it's on Kindle Unlimited, I will probably give it another try.

I’m always ready for a Wings book. The characters always show what family is and should be, either by blood or by loyalty. Clay has been to hell and back and physiologically tortured, beaten and used to fight in games of life and death. When he finally gets a chance to break free he does and finds his home with Faylynn, his fight mates baby sister. They both are tired of being forced to do things they don’t want to. When Clay is finally ready to go home to the Clubhouse, he takes Faylynn with him, and she is holding him tethered to the real world. Together they come to terms with his mental sickness and forge a future together.
If you don’t like darker twisted MC books this isn’t for you but if you are like me, I thrive on this type of book this is one you want to read. Clay paid the price for rescuing some old ladies but that price was astronomical. The things he had to do to survive was beyond imagination. During his captivity he learned of another man’s sister and the home that they shared. This became Clay’s hope for home.
The Wings of Diablo MC New Orleans is a go to MC series for me. I always look forward to the next book to come from this author.
This was a really good book! We've been wondering for a while what's been going on with Clay, and what he's had to endure is crazy! Archer feels guilty, but Clay has been "programmed" to do Rupert Giles' bidding.
Faelynn has been searching for her brother for years, now this Wildman says he knew him. Can she believe him and the wild tale he tells? Great characters, plenty of action and drama for everyone, but make sure you read the trigger warnings.

Clay help the girls get away from Rene, he made it look like Clay was eaten by an alligator. In reality he was tortured, broken and brainwashed, turned into animal, to kill his brothers. If it was not for Ansel, he probably never would have survived captivity. Hearing about Ansel's sister seems to calm him.
When he finally is able to escape he makes his way to Ansel's farm to find her. Will there need to be someone to needed to protect her from him?.

Clay suffers at the hands of Rene, his brothers believe him to be dead, and as the years go on Clay wishes he was. Of not for another prisoner who gives hope and tells Clay of his sister Faelynn and their farm, but when Clay gets the chance to escape, he never imagined it would bring him to Faelynn. But he has a tough choice ahead, which path will Clay take? Engaging emotional dark and more.

This was a dark, dark MC romance. It was the first book in the series that I’ve read but it worked as a standalone. The story was definitely not for the faint hearted, it was graphic and violent but it wasn’t just that. It had so much more to offer. I was simply captivated by the story and I couldn’t put it down. Clay and Faelynn had a though time getting together but it was worth it.

Clay was taken and tortured but when he has a chance to escape, he takes it. He runs and ends up on a farm, when he sees Faelynn. He takes her captive because he can’t trust her. Is he able to go back to his old life with his MC or will he carry out the mission Rene brainwashed him to complete? Fast-paced with loads of drama, emotion and action. Great characters with plenty of depth and an entertaining story. I liked it.
