Shige has landed a costarring role on a TV drama with Tatara, a veteran actor who happens to know of his secret relationship with fellow actor Shin. And because of Shige’s lack of confidence in his own acting skills, Tatara issues him an ultimatum—either make this role his signature performance or stop dragging Shin down and end their relationship. Shige has a hard time accepting that other men also care about Shin, but he knows he must do whatever it takes to stand by Shin’s side as his equal!

Everyone is falling under Shin's spell and I understand why. He is such a sweetheart and all he wants to do is keep acting and keep his man happy. I'm glad that he's getting more diverse roles. Shige is just as creepy and jealous as usual. That claiming scene was 🔥. I loved the dialogue and the facial expressions they made. This was my second favorite volume. 4.5 stars

This volume is probably my least favorite of the series so far. In this one Shige punishes Shin for having another guy make a pass at him. And I didn't think it was justified at all. Shige has progressively gotten meaner as the story goes. It's disappointing to me. I hope the next volume has some groveling from Shige, because he needs to. I'm sad I didn't like this more.

These volumes are too short!

Shin is so so cute and Shige was pretty mean and petty this volume. It's funny that they've both gotten roles that are similar to their true selves although I don't think Shige has realized it yet. Shige's is more of an exaggeration to his true self, but I think he could pull off immoral asshole. Just a little stuck in his princely type-cast.

I really have no clue where this is going to go. This isn't a series I'm in love with or anything, but I'm always looking forward to updates.

They were sooo cute as high schoolers. So wholesome and sweet. Now look at them LOL. This volume is extremely short and good chunk of it is sex so it makes it go by even faster.

Shige could totally pull off this role if he didn't overthink it so much. He's just too nervous to shed this fake personality he's been holding onto his whole life. He's so worried about being a shitty actor when he just needs to act like his normal self. Be a little sadistic and hate Tatara.

This was just meh. Like it felt repetitive from the last volume. Everyone is just in the main couple's business and everyone is like I MUST PROTECT SHIN. We'll see if I continue or not.

I really like Shin. I like his interactions with other characters and his passion for acting. Shige isn’t great. He is just so possessive and weird, I hope he starts chilling out soon.

Impossible no pensar en Embracing Love, Vol. 1 per la dinàmica de dos actors que en certa manera són rivals, però aquesta sèrie és molt més wholesome i gens complicada ^^' Es tracta de dos actors que projecten una imatge completament diferent de com són en realitat i que fins ara han estat encasellats en un mateix tipus de rol (el morè fent de malvat i el ros fent de príncep). Són parella des de l'institut, viuen junts, es recolzen i s'admiren mútuament, però han de dur la relació en secret perquè al Japó la indústria de l'entreteniment funciona així. Tot i que no hi ha gaire acció i el drama que s'entreveu és mínim i es resol de seguida, anem veient una evolució de personatges tant en l'àmbit personal com professional. Ta bé :3

This volume kept switching around where in time it was telling the story from, and while that would have been confusing early on in this series I think it was a great way to show how the past is influencing the present. The characters are still growing in confidence and Passion as well as commitment to each other and I and I absolutely adore how everyone seems to want to protect and it was adopt Shin. I suspect hes going to end up surprising them by the end of the series. He's shy and sensitive, and not very good at showing that, but it doesn't mean hes defenseless.

I'm still not sure if really enjoy this series or not. I do like the characters and the storyline. However I feel like it just got random sometimes which makes me lose which character they are talking about or talking to. But I will continue to read the rest of the series I do have because I do like the characters.

Un tome white pour une histoire en train de devenir plus sombre. Entre la carrière de Shige qui se complique et la jalousie qui le taraude, ce dernier n’est pas la vie facile.

Sachimo continue d’explorer le monde du spectacle avec ses deux héros acteurs terriblement attachants. On aime les voir évoluer comme acteur, subir la pression, tenter de s’améliorer participer à des tournages et apprendre toujours apprendre. Le mélange avec leur vie personnelle se fait à merveille grâce à une autrice qui manie le slow burn comme personne.

J’ai beaucoup aimé la profondeur prise par l’histoire dans ce tome. J’avais peur que l’arrivée de Tatara bouleverse un peu trop rapidement la dynamique des deux héros. Finalement l’autrice a choisi un tempo plus lent qui prend son temps et qui est bénéfique ici. On prend peu à peu conscience de la profondeur des sentiments de Shige, son manque d’assurance et la jalousie qui en découle. On se rend compte aussi doucement de la force de Shin derrière son look de jeune timide. Cette inversion des rôles est savoureuse.

Pour autant, leur romance n’est pas un long fleuve tranquille. L’expression que de la frustration de Shige dans leur quotidien à deux est quand même de plus en plus problématique. Son côté Dr Jekyll et Mr Hyde me pose problème et question, de même que la passivité de Shin quand cela arrive. Je trouve dommageable qu’il ne réagisse qu’après coup à ce comportement à interroger et discuter. Heureusement qu’on sent une affection profonde entre eux et que l’autrice nous décrit leur couple comme une relation où chacun peut compter sur l’autre pour l’aider et l’épauler. Ça lui fait prendre une autre dimension.

En tout cas, j’ai beaucoup aimé voir l’alliance entre leurs sentiments qui grandissent et se concrétisent, et leur vie professionnelle qui prend un nouveau tournant. Je trouve intéressant que celui qui a débuté un premier soit en galère mais cherche à changer les choses et à évoluer dans une autre direction, et j’aime que le second cherche à le rattraper et donne tout pour ça. Leurs projets respectifs donnent envie ! C’est agréable aussi de les voir entourer, aider à la fois par leurs managers et soutenus discrètement par leurs amis. Ça montre combien ce sont des hommes attachants, honnêtes et travailleurs.

Avec son diptyque, Black or White nous fait tantôt passer du côté d’une relation et d’une carrière lumineuse, tantôt dans les côtés plus sombres de chacune. A chaque fois, l’autrice nous touche par l’émotion qu’elle insuffle dans ses deux personnages, Shin et Shige, des hommes encore en train de se chercher aussi bien sentimentalement que professionnellement. Avec une dynamique qui relance bien la série, le redouté triangle amoureux joue bien son rôle ici !

These two actors are both in the filming industry as actors. It's not an industry to be jealous and possessive. These two have a lot to work out that way.

This volume is more drama about their acting careers. Both of them are getting busy and more and more people are finding out about their relationship. I do wonder if their relationship will go public. What will happen then.

One career is going up and one is sort of crashing, or could crash. There are lots of drama points here. There is lots more drama to be had. I am interested where it's going.

While everyone does seem to want to protect Shin, it seems Tatara might have some other hidden motivations that at least a few of those around him have picked up on. Shige is struggling while Shin seems to be hitting his stride, though he still lacks confidence in himself. Can these two really pull it together and find their own confidence, both in their own careers and together, before it's too late?

3.5. This reads so freaking fast, and objectively it's not amazing but it has tropes and elements that I enjoy. It's more entertaining to me than I thought a series like this would be, and I look forward to the next volume.
