Thriller

I really enjoy Amir’s books because he gives us great insight into the world of Israel and it’s military and intelligence. I can hardly wait for the sequel to this one and since it seems almost prophetic, I look forward to its fulfillment

I really enjoyed this instalment of the Nir Tavor series. It took me a little longer to read than usually because it really requires full attention, at which I have been lacking lately. I find not having a glossary of words and phrases in Hebrew and Arabic challenging because I cannot remember what they mean after first used and also I don't know how to pronounce the words correctly as I read.
Look forward to reading the next one (just need a few lighter reads before I tackle it!)

Because the author is a Jew living in Israel he gives us the how, the why, and the actual life they live every day in the culture and the world as the power struggles of nations are playing out. We only hear what the media chooses to tell us. The author is also a believer and shows how a Jewish mind reacts to the truth of the Gospel! All of this in a story!!!

Suspense. Intrigue. Mystery. Love. Humour. Joy. Tears. Struggle. Chosen People. God's Hand.

Having previously read "Operation Joktan" I was excited to read this sequel.
It did not disappoint. I rate it even better than the first book.
"By Way of Deception" not only brings the reader a glimpse of what it means to be Jewish and the road many take to come to know Messiah, Jesus Christ, but it also gives us a look inside the workings of the Mossad.
Roll on book #3.
Many thanks Amir & Steve.

I rather enjoyed this second book in the Nir Tavor series. All the technical stuff is interesting in my opinion, and I really liked how it was tracking with real world events. I find it super interesting to learn more about Israeli special forces that I never knew before, though sometimes the slang & Israeli words were hard to track.

Nir Tavor and Nicole le Roux again find themselves involved in a mission by the Mossad. This time they are to stop Iran from becoming nuclear armed.

Excellent story. I have gotten used to the narrator who I didn't like at first.

An enjoyable read. I was just really getting into it and then it came to an abrupt end. Enjoyable story and parallel to what’s happening in current times too.

Picked this up off The Christy Award nomination list. It was different from most of what I read, and I enjoyed it. This is the 2nd one in a trilogy I believe. . .I realized that after being 30% of the way through, so I just finished and plan to read the first one next.

Hard to stomach

I love Amir’s Bible teaching but these fiction thrillers are hard for me to read. They’re too graphic. If you have PTSD please don’t read it.

This was a fun book to read; it was really crazy in some parts and I had no idea how it was going to end. I like how these authors take historical events involving the Mossad and writing stories around them using this team of off-the-wall people to help find solutions to protect Israel from her enemies. I thought the character development was well-done (especially as it involved all of the team members in the first book – the authors were able to develop their characters further in a believable fashion).

The book is not a “non-stop adrenaline rush”, which is fine. It works for this novel. The moments involving action are pretty crazy, but then you have the moments in-between where plans are made and formulated, we see personal and professional interactions develop further, and the underlying tension of “will they be able to succeed or not?” never goes away. These are also the moments we get to know the team a little better, and a couple of the team members are actually taken out of their comfort zones, which was cool as it helped them grow more as characters.

I think one thing I especially like about this book (and the first book) is the focus on Israel and not the United States. The United States of America actually plays second fiddle in these books (if any mention is made at all), and I love it. Not that I or the authors are dissing on the U.S., and the authors do acknowledge the importance of the relationship between Israel and the U.S., but the focus is on Israel and not the U.S., and the U.S. is not the “ENEMY” in these books. I also like how the authors talk about and describe the various relationships Israel has with its Muslim neighbors and how they actually have better relationships with some nations than I realized. That was pretty cool to learn (if true). It is easy to forget that other countries have their own agendas, their own plans, that they have put in motion, and that they will take whatever steps they deem necessary to see such plans completed without compromising the safety of their own government or nation. Too, I sometimes enjoy reading books written by authors that could be said to be based upon or influenced by their own personal experiences.

There are actual real-world events mentioned throughout the book, which was also pretty cool. The authors tell the readers that they craft their stories around actual missions that occurred (or, I suppose, are believed to have involved Mossad agents), and they do a great job of rewriting the events so that their agents can be a part of what transpires in the novel. I did look some of them up because I was “no way! That couldn’t have happened that way!” and it turns out it actually did (or some variation of what was described).

I like how the relationship between Nir and Nicole has developed over the course of the two books. I also like how the agent is struggling with Jesus and does not become a Christian ‘right away’ in this book because of the various issues he has with Christianity versus his Judaism. I thought the authors did a nice job of describing a person who has some profound experiences happen to him (in this case) and the struggles that come afterwards (especially when “making a bargain with God” and then having to figure out how to satisfy their part of the bargain after their life is spared).

The book was a lot of fun to read. It was well-written, it gives the reader an “inside look” into the Israeli mindset (especially when it comes to protecting their country and its inhabitants), and it does not have any foul language in it. It held my attention from start-to-finish, and I had a hard time putting it down. I am glad I took a chance on the first book, and I am glad I enjoyed that first book enough to read this second book written by them. This second book was another enjoyable read, and I will be looking for any future books written by them to read.

Continuing to read this series my friend’s younger brother suggested that I should start, “By Way of Deception” was such a great sequel to “Operation Joktan”!
The writing was much better than the first one and the flow of the story was also much smoother. Some of the dialogue made me cringe much less than the first book and I found myself forgetting that I was even reading sometimes.

Seeing Nir and Nicole back in action and all the conflicts in this story kept me hooked till the end.
I highly recommend this book for someone who wants a story that contains action and suspense but not to where you are completely lost in what is going on in the story. Looking forward to reading the third book in this series!

It was also nice to see multiple examples in this story about how God takes care of us even if we don’t follow him or even believe that he even exists.

…”Who are you?” Nir croaked.
The man just shushed him and put the bottle back to Nir’s lips. This time he drank greedily. As he did, the man pointed at him and said “Jesus, friend. Jesus protect.”…

Outstanding novel!

Look out 007, Nir Tavor has taken your place in the world of espionage and intrigue! BY WAY OF DECEPTION, authors Amir Tsarfati's and Steve Yohn's second book in the "Nir Tavor Mossad Thriller" offer readers an enticing and complex look into lives of a Mossad team doing their best to protect the country of their birth. This fascinating tale takes the reader into the irresistible side of wealth, and the desperation to protect and yet live life to its fullest! The tempting effect of hope plays its card as well. The characters are real, worthy, and alluring; while the conflict is both captivating and convincing. If you reading pleasure leans towards romance or thrillers, BY WAY OF DECEPTION should be your next purchase! 😉

I think the book is entertaining, as well as educational. As Americans, we sometimes like to fancy ourselves supporters of Israel, without the realization of what is real, and what we romanticize in our conscience. I think the authors did a wonderful job of mixing reality with the apprehension of a suspenseful thriller. I will admit that the terms and ethnic language were sometimes hard for me to follow, but that is what made it REAL. I enjoyed and would recommend the book to others. If I had anything critical to say about it, I wasn't captivated about the discussions about the existence of God/Jesus, but I do think it added to the relevance of decisions made by key characters in the book.

Wow! I'm physically shaking!

Amir and Steve will truly open your eyes to the reality of life in Israel and the Middle East in "The Way Of Deception." This is the 2nd book of the Nir Tavor Mossad Series. Though this is fiction, it is anything but! This is what is occurring, that certain leadership does not want us to know.

Nir & Nicole and the Mossad embark on several extreme missions to stop Iran's plans of mass destruction in Israel. They are fighting the clock and sacrificing themselves to save the lives of millions. The danger of the undercover missions draws you right into the arena with the team. You are embarking on a roller-coaster of emotions. Will you, Nir, and Nicole survive?!

This book has been for me one of Spits and Spats. I would start reading and then get distracted. I can say however that Amir & Steve are becoming a great tandem when it comes to thrillers. They remind me of the earlier Joel
Rosenberg novels. I finished this while on Holidays and couldn’t put it down.

This book does include real life events that have happened and I appreciated them adding a sense of realism. I look forward to reading more of this series and I really do appreciate this series. I am looking forward to the next one that is coming out so.

I would recommend reading this if you enjoy Action Thrillers, if you’re a fan of Vince Flynn or Tom Clancy. If you’re a Joel Rosenberg fan you’ll definite enjoy this one.

I really like reading these two books. It is eye opening what the people of Israel must fear daily in their lives.; not knowing when that threat could happen and the nation be gone. I realize that activities like in this book take place not only with Israel but with America also. It is hard to read, but necessary. Christians and Jews are in danger everyday and will be until Jesus comes back. I enjoyed going through Nir's acceptance of Jesus. I will recommed this book to young adults and adults. Looking forward to his next book.

Amir a true man of God

Have read all three books and this one hit the nail on the head. Amirs time in the IDF shines through as does his many contacts both military and political can clearly be seen. As a Christian I recognize the true evil of the Iranian regime and there is no doubt if they develop a nuke they will use it. Israel will be their first target and then here in the USA. We can thank the weak governments of both countries. Knowing that Iran will definitely attack Israel along with Russia and Turkey this may just be what sets it off.

Pain and suffering, innocent and guilty

Amir and Steven have done it again. I didn't really like reading about the torture but sometimes that is what makes people examine their beliefs. I am grateful the total torture wasn't spelled out but the thought pictures were about too much for me. The storyline is one that is difficult to get out of my head. The horror is too realistic. The ending however leaves the reader wanting more.

I have read the first book "Operation Joktan". "By Way of Deception" is a sequel to the first book. Both the books are excellently written. Very engaging. I love the plot and the details in the description. The author has taken care to keep the reader engaging, sharp and focused. Since the plot is set in recent times, it becomes easy for readers to relate to the story. No wonder why the books have made it to the Top 10 Bestsellers. Kudos to the authors.

What will happen to Israel when Iran obtains nuclear capabilities? Are the efforts
made by the Mossad worth the efforts to stop what appears to be inevitable? Then the Christian overtones between the Christian operative within the Mossad and her relationship with the Jewish leader of a Kidon team adds to the tension.
The authors indicate some the events happened with the fictional team inserted into the action.

Thought provoking

Not my favorite. The action is fun but the nonchristian elements are just a bit too edgy for me. And while the main female character goes from modeling lingerie to a Christ follower, it literally happened with no explanation or even comment. One minute she is an angry atheist and the very next chapter she is a Christian. Huh?? I felt like I missed something. And realized that I just really struggled to like either of the main characters. Probably won’t read any of the rest of the series.

Another Winner..!!!!!

The pace is perfect and the tension palpable. It easy to imagine all that is written could very well be true simply by watching World news. And because of that the reader is able to determine real time events in the book. I look forward to the next in the series. I'm rooting for Not and Nicole...

This was an exceptional book from start to finish! The chance this may be the news story in the near future are very high. I bought 8 copies to give to fsmily and friends before I was a third of the way through and now I'll need to buy the first in the series so the reader can fit the story together. Msy God bless all that read this amazing book.

4.5 stars. I rarely give 5 stars to fiction because Charles Martin fiction is a high bar to meet BUT this book. Absolutely timely. It mirrors the events in the news today and is written by a Messianic Jew who lives in Israel and is aware of the techniques of the Mossad. Great thriller fiction that felt like I was reading the headlines in the news. Highly recommend this series.

The perfect thriller

The twists and turns of the plot keep you trapped in the story... You spend your day at work looking forward to getting back to the story and then at night you want time to slow down so you can make the story last longer. A fantastic read! Well done, Amir and Steve. You better be working on the next plot and keeping up the humour!

The second book in the Nir Tavor Mossad Thriller series did not disappoint! It kept me turning the pages way past my bedtime. Amir Tsarfati takes true events and blends them with fictionalized what-ifs to bring real life current events into focus. It all reads and feels so real... because it very well could be!

This was a great follow-up to the first book in the series, ‘Operation Joktan’. This novel was written with so much imagery, employing the reader’s emotions, imagination and attention. I would not be surprised if both books were made into films one day. This book is action packed from beginning to end. I definitely recommend reading this book!

Thrilling read

I really enjoyed everything about this book. It has a lot of suspense in it and truth. It is heartbreaking to see the way people treat each other. It is also amazing to see how much someone can endure when they have a mission to accomplish. My prayer is that the message will continue to go out to anyone who reads this book, and they will understand.

Loving these books! They’re so much fun - interesting and exciting and filled with enough wit and humor, not to mention the ultimate message of salvation sprinkled throughout. I always enjoy Amir’s sense of humor that even comes out in his more serious books about the end times and I enjoy seeing his humor in these books as well. Can’t wait for the third to come out.

These books wipe me out! So intense, so realistic, and so chilling--especially when you consider all that's happening right now in the Middle East.

I love all of the characters and enjoy watching them work together to protect the innocent. And to take out the evil ones that plot and plan destruction.
