Fire essence flows through the kingdom. But it isn’t the only kind of essence.
Desire to understand his strange essence pushes Rob. He’s left his village, but now he’ll need to leave the kingdom and all that is familiar for him to get the answers he craves.
What he finds leads him to question if his essence is corrupted. With an essence like his, how will he ever master it enough to evolve?
As the icy Spread pushes toward the Borderlands, the only way for Rob to find his answers is out in the Spread—but doing so may cost him everything.
Dragon Touched is book 3 in an exciting new progression fantasy series!
Omg I loved book three for sure. Rob is building on the knowledge of his power which I will say as saved his and Serena a few times but it's still a work in progress and the progress begins in book 4 bye bye for now
If not for my principle of never DNF'ing anything, I would have really, really, really just chucked this one anywhere or the nearest bin.... By the Underworld's throne, never had I read a book that is about bickering, constant bickering, the concept of essence and how you can control, where it is from, how to acquire it, THIS IS ALREADY BOOK 3!!!! No changes whatsoever....still a concept... Oh right the books are just 200+ pages, for a normal novel this might be a fourth of the journey but really just constant back and forth, this was a progression.... the only thing that progresses in my opinion was my feeling of throwing away this book...............
Decent story line but so poorly written and edited.
I've read Holmberg before so thought I would get a decently written story. How very disappointing to get such a sloppy mess. This smacks of a let's just throw something out there will we ride on our laurels for a bit. The poor writing and editing get in the way of what could be a good story. I made it through book 3 but I am done now since it hasn't improved. Do better Michaelson and Holmberg. Be respectful of the craft, yourselves and your readers.
I can't believe I'm on the 3rd book already, I picked up the 1st book and literally cannot put this series down. It's been a long time since something's grabbed my attention this quickly definitely must have in anyone's library. The characters are easy to identify with and the story line just draws you in.
While the story is unique and entertaining, the authors need a new editor. It is distracting to the story to have to stop and re-read sentences over a time or two for intent.
To be fair, I’m not a magic and sorcery fan. If done well, which most authors don’t, and fits in…I’m good. Book one was okay but I was ready to stop about a third of the way into book two. Two subplots(a sprite and the queen’s thinking of the MC) and Amazon KU kept me going.
Skimmed rest of books two and three with no progress on either subplots. Done. The notion of three major characters going on an ‘adventure’ with no weapons, equipment or planning was too much.
If you like super hero magic type plot, maybe you’ll like. This was just too wordy and flat out boring for me.
This is just straight up bad writing. Every paragraph of this book is just the previous paragraph rearranged. Not to mention, that there was zero proofreading of the book. “I need to find answers they might have them” “I’ll go out there and might find some answers” “maybe he has answers” “maybe if I push outward I’ll have answers” “I pushed outwards, are the answers coming” “the spread, the spread oh and did I mention the spread, it might have answers”. If you want to read a 300 page run on sentence that could have been one chapter with the same amount information, since there was literally no information or plot to even conceive in this book.
Addictive series, exciting, tense and entertaining!!!!
Congratulations to D.K. Holmberg and Dan Michaelson for this amazing series. Ibt’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book!
It's all about the essence and Rob is still learning his. His entry into the frosty land yields some answers but even more questions. He is not loved except by his special team. This is a young man in search of answers, but will this frosty world yield the answers or just danger and maybe even death?
In his attempt to find out what his power is Rob goes to an area where frost is overtaking everything. He finds that there was much more going on than was suspected at first. The next part of his quest to find out more about himself should prove to be quite interesting.
So far this series hasn't failed to keep me reading...it is compelling, exciting and a new type of dragon tale..the newness keeps me reading and wanting to know what is going to happen next!
The saga continues. Rob and friends go to the borderlands. There is an ice spread pushing to the borderlands. Rob must go into the ice spread to get answers to his quest. Story get more complex but still captures the reader's interest.
A nice quick read. Characters are good. Needs a better editor but not as bad as some. Still disruptive when your into he story. Definitely a good read. Off to number 4.
The story keeps you engaged through out. The characters are wonderful . There is plenty of action. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
A good series fast paced and entertaining. However you need to get a new proof reader as the amount of missing words, wrong words, half words and grammatical errors is shocking for a published book. Hence only three stars
Could not finish due to the glaring editing mistakes throughout the series and book thus far. After reading a well written and edited book, coming back to this series is too much work.
In the Borderlands, Rob and Serena meet Boris the Everthorn in a life essence town who trains Rob in his new abilities helping him progress to Dragon Touched.
Footnote: 1) There are many editing errors: missing, wrong and extra words, etc.
Fave scenes: Rob sliding down the path, Griffin stopping Boris attacking Rob, meeting Maggie and the Icenoceros.
