Brody Bennet’s brother Ethan was killed in prison. In a random coincidence, the daughter of the man that sent Ethan to prison is sitting across from him in a meeting.

Brody is faced with a decision.

He never got the chance to get retribution against the lawyer who sent his brother to his death.

But…

Maybe he can get retribution against the daughter.

Brody puts his plan into motion, but gets tangled in his own web, drawn to Calie more than any other woman, ever.

Will he be able to go through with his retribution plans? Or can he let vengeance go for a chance at love?

Calanthe Kemp doesn’t understand the antagonism she feels rolling off the muscular former Marine. She’s never seen him before, but there’s some familiarity in his gaze, like he knows her.

There’s also a carnal want in his gaze that takes her off guard.

She’s very careful with her relationships, but just once… maybe she can break out of her country-club set and go for a bad boy.

He’s leaving in a day anyway, so what’s the harm in having a one-night stand?

Really enjoyed this book, found it a quick read! The love scenes were beautifully written, the storyline was engrossing, only issue I had was the Insta love (and this is personally just my opinion) if you are ok with Insta love then you’ll love this book.

Brody really did not come off good at the start. When it was mentioned about his bother and Calanthe's father it made sense why he was such an ass, didn't excuse his behavior, but at least you understood why. I was surprised that Brody was able to get past that to even start something with Calanthe at the restaurant, let alone sleep with her.

I thought they were good together, but you knew the past would come up. I just didn't expect it to happen like it did, but the more I think about it, I like that it went like that. It really made Brody realize he really liked Calanthe and with his actions after, Brody was able to show Calanthe that he really liked her and wanted more. It made her making the change all the more believable. So nice to see that both of them took a chance for love.

Revenge doesn't always go as planned. Sometimes it can lead you to something you didn't know you needed. Brody Bennet is about to join LNF in Ohio but first, he has a score with a beautiful lawyer. Calanthe Kemp's father was a lawyer who destroyed Brody's family. Her father did not always walk on the right side of his oath to uphold the law. Brody sets out for revenge but fate has other plans for these two.

This book is a novella that will start the Columbus Lost and Found group. I enjoyed getting to know Brody and Calanthe. Because the story took place mainly in Colorado, we got to see Shannon and John and two other LNF couples albeit briefly. This had all the angst and heart of the original LNF series with new characters to fall in love with. I can't wait to read what comes next for the Columbus crew and the men and women they will fall in love with.

Slow burn is a new book in the Columbus Branch of Lost and Found by J M Madden. It is a fast paced enemies to lovers story. Brody is a new employee at the main office to sign paperwork. He sees the daughter of the man that convicted his brother, and he is a real jerk to her. His anger makes him really nasty. He finds himself attracted to her though. That makes him mad. Calanthe doesn’t understand why he is being so rude. When they run in to each other again sparks fly, but he still has revenge on his mind. Fortunately he redeemed himself fairly fast. He still has a huge road to recovery when it comes to Calanthe. Can their one night stand be anything more than retaliation? Once you get through that stage, their love story turns sweet and sensitive. I’m excited to see a new generation of Lost and Found books.

Slow Burn is a fabulous contemporary romance by J.M. Madden. Ms. Madden has once again drawn me into a story and held me captive until the end. This well-written book is loaded with a fantastic cast of characters, gotta love those L&F guys! Brody can't wait to get out of Colorado, where his worst memories live and get back to Ohio. When he discovers Calanthe is the daughter of the man that put his brother in prison, he thinks about revenge. This book is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Slow Burn is part of the Lost and Found Series-Columbus but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.

I read a print copy of this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

As always J.M. Madden does not disappoint. This beginning to a new series has left me wanting more. I love the way her stories read like regular people finding their way to what life holds for them. They are comfortable stories that make you feel like you are catching up with family you haven't heard from for a while. I can't wait to see how this series grows. I do believe this Ohio group of LNF is going to be as loved and endearing as the original Colorado group is. It was good to see how love that starts off on the wrong foot can end up being just what they never knew they needed. Well worth the time and money to begin this new adventure.

A meeting at the Lost and Found headquarters to sign contracts for the new branch sets the stage for this book. When Brody Bennet meets Calanthe Kemp he is overwhelmed with need for revenge for her father’s sins against his family. But his retribution backfires, leaving Calanthe emotionally wounded and him scrambling for forgiveness. But what future can they have with her in Colorado and him in Ohio?

There are glimpses of much loved characters from the Denver LNF and I can’t wait to read new books from Lost and Found - Columbus. I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.

Wow! Holy hotness! For a Lost and Found series novella this was extra spicy. A one night stand with a twist and a future. Brody is starting a new job working with the Columbus Ohio branch of LNF, maybe we’ll see him in future books. Calanthe is the lawyer the group uses for contracts, but she has a connection to Brody too. The LNF series has many books and can read as standalones, although many characters appear in cameos. I received my copy early and have written my review freely.

This was a great intro to the LNF Columbus books. I can't wait to get intonthis new series! Brody and Calanthe meet under some pretty shocking circumstances. The attraction between them is undeniable, but Brody struggles to balance that attraction with his need for revenge. As pieces of their past unravel, Brody is able to see the truth, and luckily for him, Calanthe is able to forgive. This was a sweet story with plenty of appearances by the original LNF guys. I really enjoyed it.

Very enjoyable! I love Madden so bought Slow Burn without looking at more than the description. It was shorter than I expected, and because the longer LNF books have been romantic suspense, I was surprised when it turned out to be romance. I could have been disappointed, but I genuinely enjoy Madden’s writing style and am always happy to revisit LNF characters. The plot kept my interest high, and I love that Madden’s drama doesn’t turn cringy.

REVENGE THAT TURNS INTO SOMETHING ELSE

I like that Slow Burn is a departure from the high action, fast paced stories in most of the LNF series. As the title implies, this book smolders for a while before it flames hot, a sexy, hot romance that sizzles.
Slow Burn is a fantastic read. Highly recommend.

Make it right

Calanthe should have popped him upside his head. Seriously though, once the chip was gone Brody rating went up on my like meter. The attraction was there but the hateful past is what through a monkey wrench in them being together without fault.

I guess all good reads needs an obstacle or two.

Sometimes revenge isn't sweet as Brody soon learns. Calanthe is the daughter of the man who caused his family pain and his hatred and pain is so strong that he seeks revenge against her, but what happens when he comes to his senses? Madden gives us a story with strong characters and great story line while also giving us visits from some of our favorite LNF characters. Absolutely entertaining.

Not a slow burn storyline but a freaking awesome one.

Revenge doesn’t always work like we plan and sometimes you’re hit with the assumption you made was wrong.

Faced paced with an amazing couple and a few cameos from much loved LNF characters.

Such a good book! I loved how rough and crude Brody and the lovely Calanthe make an unlikely, but perfect pair. It was wonderful to see some familiar faces again and I am really looking forward to the next one!

Brody the brooding book boyfriend. He didn’t want to fall in love with the so called enemy but she didn’t make it easy for him to hate her. And when he fell….he fell hard. This book is about giving chances and going after what you want! Madden always brings the romance and heat!

Great read! This one is simply a romance tale done right. I loved the characters (although, I had some doubts at first) and the author brings out their best for a HEA. Enjoy!

Not like the rest of the series

This book was ok for a love story, but I greatly missed the action and suspense that is in the novels before it.

Slow Burn

I have never been unhappy about any of J.M.'s books. I have been a long long time fan of the Lost and Found series. From John and Shannon up til now.

I didn’t care for this book at all. Too much F word. Why can’t books be written without that offensive word nearly on every page? I skimmed over a lot of it. Very disappointed.

Brody Bennet’s brother Ethan was railroaded for a crime he did not commit and was killed in prison. The prosecutor has since died but Brody has now met the daughter, Calanthe Kemp. Should he use her for revenge?

Fantastic book

I'd looked forward to reading about the new LNF office in Columbus and Brody's story didn't disappoint. It was easy to understand the back story with his brother and of course learn about Calanthe Kemp's connection to his death. He'll have to decide as she is the lawyer for both the Denver and Columbus offices of Lost and Found Investigations and may have to work with her occasionally.

This was a short but sweet book and I can't wait to read more about the veterans who'll be part of the LNF agency in Ohio.
