Tragedy. Love. Betrayal.

Those three things have turned me into the monster I am today.

How does a man who has everything he could ever need lose it all in the blink of an eye?

Trusting the wrong people, that’s how.

Now, they call me the devil.

They say I’m heartless, ruthless and full of evil but I wasn’t always this way.

Shattered Bonds is book 2.5 in The Reapers of Havoc MC series and must be read after Savage Hearts. This is a short novella of Gabriel’s story. Love him or hate him, his past made him the monster we all crave.

Poignant

So emotionally moving and a tear-jerker, this short story recounts Gabriel’s life up until his wife’s death and his MC history. It answers a lot of whys in the Sons-Reapers MC rivalry. Gabe continues to deals with the trauma of his past but now with a captive, supportive audience in Angel. His little monster, as he so affectionately calls her, gives the validation and understanding he thought he would never receive.

This story makes the previous book two even more heart-rendering. Rather fast pace (thank you) and told through memories, I experienced Gabe’s rocky life and his change from lighthearted to the devil he became. Written directly from past to present might have been a better flow, but perhaps we would have missed out on all the consolation and empathy Angel gave him through reminiscing.

I enjoyed his story. It put a spin on everything I had read in books one and two, giving credence to keeping an open mind and character redemption: There is always more than what appears on the surface.

As I say each time, we all have different opinions so my review may or may not be the same as yours and that's completely okay.
This definitely helped me understand Gabe as a person and why he is how he is. It's definitely not long but it helps a whole lot for us as readers who've met Gabe in the other books to understand his background now and what makes him, HIM.
I won't say it's anything great or mind-blowing but it does help to understand Gabe and King a bit better.

I am emotionally wrung out! The introduction to Gabe in the first book made me want to pull my hair out with his treatment of Angel. Then you get to book 2 and things come to light and your like well maybe there is a reason for his actions! Then this book, it totally destroyed me! My heart hurts for this character, like literally I was weeping for him and his pain and all the trauma he has endured in his life! I was ready to pick up my gear and go to WAR with him over what King has done to his life and all that he has lost! This was a short but very needed insight to what makes Gabe who he is and gives the series purpose. I am emotionally bound to this series now as I have to see that Gabe gets his just dies and I sure hope he gets the girl as well and she gets all her men! I am praying to the book release Gods that they help to hurry the 3rd book along! AMAZING prequel to help understand the basis for a characters actions! Loved it!

Shattered Bonds by Ashlee M Edmonds is a short novella of Gabriel's story. This is book 2.5 in The Reapers of Havoc MC series and should be read after Savage Hearts.

This is Ashlee's debut series, and she keeps knocking it out of the park. I was so excited when she announced she would be doing a novella of Gabe's past and she did not disappoint. I loved getting this insight into him.

I can't wait for the final book in the series Vengeful Minds to be released on June 30, 2022.

I would recommend this series if you like dark romances, reverse harem romances, motorcycle club romances, or romantic suspense.

Gabe Revealed

Ms. Ashlee, thank you for writing Gabe’s story. Unveiling the true monster of the series in this way was so impactful without taking away from Angel and her men. Allowing Gabe to be seen not just as the Devil, despite the evil he has done, I think is important but doing it in the context of the full series would have detracted from that story. You brilliantly wrote Gabe to be relatable without making him completely forgivable in the immediate. He is redeemable and salvageable depending on how the rest of the series unfolds but without his story being told, I’m not sure he could’ve gotten there. Having Angel being willing to continue hearing him continues to build her character outside of her harem. I truly loved this story for all its tragic, heartbreaking beauty. Can’t wait to see what happens next with Gabe and Angel!

A Prequel for the Reapers of Havoc Series!🎉

I already loved the man in Reapers! Getting a look into the mind of Gabe and learning his story before he became the man we know now made me fall even more head over heels for the man🤍🤍🤍

Gabe’s story will break your heart and have you cheering for the man by the end of it! Because there is sure to be a storm brewing y’all and I’m rooting for Daddy Gabe all the way!

Ashlee, this story was told in only the way you can do! As a reader I crave the push & pull, the feeling of wanting more & more and that’s exactly how you made me feel reading Gabe’s story.

This book, had me grabbing the tissues. My heart felt like it was being ripped out of my chest for Gabe with all the pain, trauma and loss he has endured in his life. I wanted to rip King apart myself just to take some of his pain away. It also helps us have a better understanding of his interactions with Angel. I'm so happy I found Ashlee and even though she's a new author and I consider myself a veteran reader I highly recommend you check the out her other books. She pulls you into the stories from the very beginning, then keeps you on the edge of you seat until the very end all the while wanting the next book in the series asap.

I’ve always been team Gabe and after reading this I’m rooting for him even more. How can so many bad things happen to one person? How could he survive all of this? I so hope he gets a happy ending, even after everything he’s done, he deserves it more than anyone else. Hopefully he will have a HEA with Angel, she is really good for him.
Ashlee’s done a great job with telling his story. I was a bit afraid she will go back in time and Gabe will “live through” his earlier years while we are watching, but I didn’t need to be worried. The story was told beautifully with Angel as his support. But now I’m more sad than before about what had to happen at the end of Savage hearts.

Gabes story is a tearjerker!!

Shattered Bonds is a prequel to the Reapers of Havoc series. It tells the story of how Gabe came to be the man he is now.

I startes off not a big fan of Gabe in book #1 of The Reapers, then in book 2, he kinda grew on me, now after reading this, I can't blame him for how he acted, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next Reapers book!!

Ashlee did such an amazing job with Gabes story, you guys need to read this book!!!

I have always loved Gabe, I did not think it was possible to love him any more… but I do. I really, really do. Daddy Gabe, always. His story was emotional and heartbreaking, so many times I wanted to hug him and hold him tight. I also did not think I could hate King any more than I did, but I do. I was so happy that Ashlee decided to write Gabe’s story and give him his own book. The length of the book, the details, how it was written and delivered was absolutely perfect. ❤️💔

A prequel to the Reapers of Havoc series that tells the story of Gabe. I really liked getting to know the back side of the why, the circumstances and situations that made Gabe who he is. This book defenitely delivers a punch laying it all out. I mean you wouldn't really get Gabe clearly, the bigger picture of him until you read this one. It's an addictive, fast paced page turner that is written well. A must read.

Shattered Bonds is a short novella about Gabriel’s background and why he is the way he is. He is telling his story to Angel so she has a better understanding of why he has become the monster everyone knows him as. His story broke my heart and made me actually love him even more…we all know I love the bad guys!

This is a quick little novella that I read in a little over an hour and shouldn’t be read until after you’ve read the first two books of the series.

Wow, this was a fantastic read that hooked me from the very beginning and did not let me go until the last page was read. It moves along at a really great speed which made for an enjoyable read. The characters are amazing and you feel as though you are there with them and no matter what happens you cannot help but love them. This book needs to be read, there is no doubt about .

Shattered Bonds is a short, emotional prequel.
In this book we are told Gabe’s emotional story from when he was a child to the present. And this was a very emotional story. You will feel anger, sadness and despair and what Gabe has gone through in life to the betrayal from King.
If you are following this amazing series than you should definitely check out this book!

A brilliant and emotional insight into Gabe the man, although an anti-hero in this series this prequel provides the structure for everything that follows.
Well written and captivating, I cannot wait for the series to continue, it is a truly inspirational debut series by this author.

This novella was really eye opening . Gabriel’s story has a lot of heartache from boyhood to present. Losing family , friends , his lady. Those are tough things to tell your new girl about . And still want revenge from the one that has caused him the most hurt.

This book made me want to cry

Gabriel is not the villain.

I do not care what he has done that paints him as the devil.

He truly isn’t.

He lost his best friend. All because of King is someone who is the most narcissistic character I have ever read. He was jealous and petty and he reminds me of when Meredith Grey from Grey’s Anatomy tells Derek “Pick me. Choose me. Love me.” He’s the epitome of that phrase.

King is by far the worst villain in this story and hell I’d help Gabe too.

I understand now even if he doesn’t why he’s so drawn to Angel. Angel is literally Gloria just a younger version. In a way it’s like he got his wife back by meeting this girl who his son and best friends are in love with.

Like Angel said it in the last book he let her embrace her darkness when everybody else wanted her to stay away from for it.

They both gave each other something that they so desperately needed. And it’s honestly sad that no one can see that they do need each other.

She needs him just as much as her guys need her and he needs her just as much as she needs all five of them.

I honestly don’t see her ending up with all five of them but I hope the guys can understand her need for wanting to be there for Gabriel.

Hopefully Dante can bridge the divide between him and his dad. I really hope Gabriel gets his revenge because he deserves it.

And King he deserves every thing that is coming to him and then some.

100000000000000000000000000000000000000/5

PS if it wasn’t known I absolutely love Gabriel now because now I understand him better and he’s not the person everybody makes him out to be.

Even the Devil Has a Past Full of Tragedy

I’m a product of my environment. Chaos and ruin follow me around every corner. My life has been one fucking tragedy after another. Every time I start to see the light at the end of the tunnel, a little sunshine to brighten my dark days, another damn storm cloud comes rolling in. But I’ve never let it defeat me.

I’m a survivor.

The good, the bad, and the ugly has turned me into the man I am today. The man this town fears and loathes all in the same breath. People like to forget the past, but not me, I live there.

This world had beaten and broken me down time and time again before I decided to take control of my own destiny. The people in this town have tried to suck my will to live right out of me, but never again. Enough was enough, I finally decided that my life, my fate, would only be chosen by me.

The tragedies I’ve endured may have molded me into the devil everyone in this town loves to hate. If they only knew my story, my struggle, and my side of things. I wasn't always this soulless. I had hopes and dreams that weren't fueled by my constant need for revenge. But with every loss, every betrayal, the darkness would creep further in until there was nothing left but a shell of the man I used to be.

Maybe people would think differently of me if they knew the sorrow that I’ve felt in life. That death has been more constant and more reliable than any person ever was to me. At least with death, I know what to expect.

Gabes story

I may understand his side of the story but what i won't understand is how Angel can be with her guys dad and expect it to work. 1st the age gap gross. Second would you want to watch your father groping all over your girl I think not. I get that people have relationships all the time that are older which maybe isn't so bad but considering her age nope gross. That is perv ped area. I just idk it wasn't a bad story until Gabe got involved. Now this is my opinion only. You may like age gaps. If you do than this story is good for you. I have a personal trigger when it cones to older freaks. I was molested by my own grandfather ik its not the same but its still feels the same older man taken advantage of a young women barely of age. But if that's your cup of tea then this is for you. Enjoy. That's why I gave it 4 stars because ik people don't mind it. And I liked everything else about it just not the guys father in the picture
