Another clear touchdown @PeyStormAuthor! I absolutely knew I would love Dax and Belle’s story and you did not disappoint, even a little bit. Dax is exactly the man I’ve always wished to meet one day. Yeah, yeah, I live in a romance induced fairy tale, but you know what? I don’t care, because there ARE happily ever after’s and I never believe it more than when I’m immersed in your heavenly writing. Belle is quirky, witty, intelligent, and her love for Xavier, Grams, Punkin’, and her close knit friends make her a character with depth, fierce determination, and exactly the type of woman I enjoy in my books. This story touched my heart, with Dax feeling inferior to Belle’s high powered career, yet not letting it stop him, because THIS girl, she's something special. She’s just the woman to make him see all that he is. And together – Hells Belles, someone get me a fan, because their heat is scorching! And Peyton, I don’t know if we met in a former life, but you seem to write things that I relate to and sometimes bring tears to my eyes. I had no parents by the age of 12, but was also fortunate enough to be raised by my own Gran. Thank you for reminding me to stop and remember some very wonderful memories – and to Look Up. I’m not going to lie and say that I “hope” I know who might star in your next book. We’ll see if I’m right! Love this book to pieces. Thank you again for letting me into your world.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book with every promise to rate it honestly. The opinions expressed here are solely my own.
Hells Belles is the delightfully steamy second book in the Ocean Falls Trilogy. Belle and Dax are everything and their love story did not disappoint! Belle is still the feisty, headstrong, intelligent career-minded woman we loved in the first book. In this book, we learn so much more about the sexy, brooding, loner, Dax. He’s an accomplished sports agent, but we get a glimpse into his more romantic and tender side when it comes to his attraction to Belle. I just really loved this couple. Loyal to family and friends, ambitious and successful, these two are just such great characters. I read this book in one day - couldn’t put it down. Anxiously awaiting Book 3!
Wasn’t bad wasn’t great. There wasn’t really anything to write home about Belle and Dax’s story tbh. If I’m even being honest I thought it was very flat and at times boring. It was drawn out for literally no reason and yes Belle had standards but she was being so closed off to Dax. Like I got the end and was perplexed if love was in the same room as us.
I understand they were both new to whatever they had going on, and it was rather unconventional how they went about doing things, but they made it seem like they found a cure for cancer. Like it’s not unheard of if you don’t want children, and marriage isn’t your thing; but it would’ve been nice if they weren’t always brushing things under the rug or pocketing certain topics to “discuss” (which were all blurted at the end mind you).
Belle and Dax were definitely better as side characters instead of having their own book because their plot was rather weak. Kind of fell off after the first book, which is sad seeing as I was looking forward to reading it.
The chemistry between Dax and Belle! I didn't want this story to end. It wasn't just the spice that reeled me in. The way the characters interacted, their thoughts, and the delicate dance between the two as they discovered what could be together all made for a good story. Yes, I would recommend reading this wonderfully written book.
