Texting The CEO, Book 2 of the Text Me You Love Me series, was about 42-year-old Felix Franklin, the CEO of his newspaper company, and 20-year-old Fiona Smith, an assistant to an assistant at Felix's company, and wanna-be fashion designer.
Fiona had a crush on Felix, so when the opportunity arose for her to get his private phone number, she couldn't resist. After her roommate and BFF found out she had it, Rachel encouraged Fiona to message him, which she finally did, but without telling him anything more than her first name.
After some time had passed with the two of them texting, Fiona sent him a message saying they shouldn't be doing it, to which he gruffly agreed. Hurt and heartbroken, Fiona responded a little childishly, and they stopped texting. However, Felix couldn't forget her so, when he told his critically ill mother about her, his mom encouraged him to find her. Felix hired a company to trace Fiona's phone and when he had all of her information, he went to her place in search of her in person.
This was a somewhat fun, and yet, sad story to read. There were moments of angst and drama, but there was plenty of humor to round it out. But there was a hint of melancholy in it as well due to certain subject matters.
Unfortunately, the story felt quite juvenile with a 42-year-old man acting more like a 15-year-old boy. He seemed stunted in his actions and words, which was a bit of a disappointment. The 20-year-old FMC seemed even younger at times as well. Which was why I only gave this book a two-star rating.
