If I’ve said it once in my life, I’ve said nine thousand times. ‘Stay away from your best friend’s sister!’ It worked for a while, until a college party. When that ended in disaster, I nearly had it tattooed on my forehead. We kept our distance after that, but I never filled that Avery shaped hole in my heart. Then my ‘brother from another mother’ tells me she’s here to take her position in the family company, and in she sweeps looking better than any of the fantasies I’ve had over the years. Fantastic. Cue the mantra. I don’t know why I think it’d work now. Avery isn’t someone you can ignore. She’s the world’s greatest distraction.
At one point, Luke was my everything. Our time together in college changed me on a molecular level and I was so sure we were destined to be that couple people wished they could be. Then reality slapped me in the face and my everything turned into a steaming pile of nothing. Fast forward two years, and all those Luke shaped molecules turn into Luke-haters. Now, he’s everything I hate in men. The top of my dating checklist says “Not Luke.” I don’t know why I think cannon balling back into his life is a good idea. At first, I just wanted to prove myself to him, and take my place at the company. But Luke’s a gorgeous distraction I don’t need, one I’m not sure my heart can handle.
This is the third book in The Bosshole Files Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a slow burn second chance romance for Avery and Luke. Avery's brother Owen has made it his mission to keep his friends from dating his sister Avery. Luke and Avery slipped around and secretly dated in college and it didn't end well. Hurt by their breakup, Luke came her standard for what she didn't want in men. While Luke never got Avery off his mind. Things heat up when she comes to work at her families company where Luke also works. Love slowly brings Avery and Luke back together. The book is an easy read that can easily be read in one sitting. The back and forth banter is humorous and often immature. The characters are likable and fun. Overall this was a fun read that I enjoyed. I read a free arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
Avery has just finished college and is joining the business that she and her older brother and 2 of his friends had inherited from their families. Lucas/Luke, 3 years older, is a co-owner and Avery and Lucas had secretly been intimate during college but Lucas broke up with her after they took over the company because he was afraid of upsetting her brother, his best friend, and he realized business had to be his first priority for now. Now, Avery wanted to prove to everyone that she belonged in the business and Lucas is assigned to train her. Avery intentionally tries to annoy Lucas and there is lots going on with the other company owners and their girlfriends. Will Lucas and Avery be able to work together and hide the feelings they still have for each other?
I thoroughly enjoyed this story of former lovers who broke up because of family and business who are now forced to work together. The characters from other books in this series reappear and it was fun to see them again but it was not necessary to read their stories to enjoy this book. The author did a great job explaining why Lucas felt he had to break up with Avery in college because he thought that was the right thing to do at the time. They still had feelings and their conversations and bantering were humorous and fun to read. The ending for their story was perfect.

This could be a second chance romance for Avery and Luke, but someone will have to take the first step. Avery seems to have done that when she comes to the company she has ownership in and steps into her place to work there. She and Luke had dated secretly for a year in college. But her brother, Owen, had made it clear he did not want his friends to date his sister. Owen was Luke’s best friend, so he was in an uncomfortable position and he broke off his and Avery’s relationship.
Hurting from her loss of the love of her life, Avery became the epitome of all things bad in a man. Since Luke still loved her, can they begin to rebuild a new relationship? Will they face Owen and get that settled so they can be happy? Or has Avery really had enough and be ready to walk away from Luke?
With so many possibilities, you should grab your copy and see if love is in their future or it’s too late to pick up the pieces. There is so much to like about this book. Humor alone keeps me very happy, even with their silly banter. The characters remain likable and fun, and you’ll find yourself cheering them on.
I really enjoyed this story. Avery and Lucas were in a relationship when they were young but they have to break up because of Avery's brother who is also Lucas' best friend. There were parts that were really emotional and others that were funny. If you like slow-pace stories then give it a try. Even though i'm not a fan of second chance books i really liked it.
*Spoiler*
In the 19-20 chapter Avery gets drunk and asks from Luke to sleep in his arms. To make sure that she won't get the wrong idea that he took advantage of her, she, herself, suggests that Luke records her saying that but they don't record when she told him to sleep in his boxers. Let me tell, when she wakes up the dialogue is so funny and like Luke predicted she was pissed at him: “And why are you only in boxers? Please tell me nothing happened between us.” “I knew I should’ve gotten that on camera too.” I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book in the Bosshole Files series shows us that a second chance can happen even against the odds. Avery is the little sister of Owen and the love Luke has never gotten over. They were never supposed to be together. When they finally were, he left her heartbroken. She is back now, at the company and irresistible to him. Avery has hardened her heart or so she thinks. She might not want to love him but she still does. That does not mean that he will not have to work for her trust. These two were always meant to be together and fate shows them that. Their story has many different emotions from the characters. The complications were once greater than the future rewards, not any longer

Another fantastic book in the series! Avery starts working at the firm she is partner for, and whilst she can’t wait she really doesn’t want to work with Luke, her brothers best friend. Unbeknown to her brother, Avery and Luke had a relationship a few years prior but Luke chose his company and friend over her. Devastated, Avery has never gotten over it and never forgiven him but after he begs her forgiveness, she gives him another chance, only to end up in the exact same position again! I love the humour in the book, there were parts that had me laughing out loud. I loved the characters, and loved how whilst this book was Avery and Luke’s story it still involved all the other characters. Loved it! Would love more in this series.

Cute, funny second chance romance. Avery and Lucas dated in secret in college, but split up when he left to take over his share of the company with her brother, Owen and their friend Parker. Avery is now back on the scene to take here share of the company leaving Lucas fighting his attraction for the woman he’s loved as long as he’s known her. Owen and Parker had some remarkably immature behaviour for being part owners of a company which felt unnecessary and unrealistic at times. Felt Avery and Lucas were believable characters; the hurt, fear, insecurities, angst and love for each other were well written. Overall an enjoyable read.

I was dying to get my hands on this book after finishing Owen’s book!
I loved Avery! She was everything that I hoped for from Owen’s little sister! My heart hurt at reading how heartbroken she was after things ended with Lucas. But, I loved that she didn’t cave the second time around! Lucas was that character that I wanted to strangle one minute then reach out and give him a hug the next. I really wanted him to man up without being pushed to own up to everything with Owen. He didn’t learn from his mistake the first time, and that was a but disappointing. Owen stole the show, for me, in this book. Maybe because I fell head over heels after reading his story, but it might be that he’s just completely off the rails! And it’s so flipping hysterical!!! I’m so sad to see the end of this series. I’m hoping that Ms. MacQueen finds a way to continue with the bossholes!

This book was full of larger than life characters, crazy situations, and the one that got away. I spent almost the entire book giggling and thoroughly enjoyed the banter and chemistry between the characters.
But I have to admit that I wasn't thrilled with the way the relationship between Luke and Avery progressed at times. I can totally understand her frustration that it seemed as if he was trying to hide her. He never asked what her opinion was, it was only what he felt he had to lose and that's how things needed to proceed. That disappointed me because it happened more than once.
Overall it was a good book. I loved Owen, Parker, Logan, and Carrie and think that once things got resolved, it made the story a whole lot more enjoyable.

Avery Powell is Owen’s little sister and has come back home to help run the company. Lucas Coleman is one of Owen’s best friends. He gets to teach Avery all about the company. There’s just one little problem - Avery and Lucas dated in college and Owen doesn’t know. Lucas felt he had to choose between Avery and the business. He broke up with her just before he, Owen and Parker took over the company from their fathers. I liked how Avery and Lucas decided to be friends as exes. They still loved each other but Avery was afraid Lucas would hurt her again. It was nice being with Logan, Parker, Owen and Carrie again. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I highly recommend it.

I can't say it enough, I LOVE these Bossholes and their women! I don't think I can pick a favorite bosshole though, because each one has their own amazing traits! With that being said however I think Lucas is definitely a top contender for a top favorite book boyfriend! He is so genuine with his feelings, he's put between a rock and a hard place. Unsure of where his loyalties should lay, the girl he can't remember not loving or his best friend that's like a brother to him. This amazing authors talents for drawing her readers into her characters story is surreal. Each time I read one of her books I'm astounded all over again. I can't recommend her works of art enough, you won't be disappointed!
Avery and Lucus have history of a couple of different types. He is best friends with her brother and feels like the she should be off-limits. However, when they were in college they had a thing that did not go well and ended badly. Fast forward to the present when Avery has come to join the family business and she has to work with him and they both are still feeling the after effects of their attraction to one another with all of the complications still in force. Avery and Lucas' slow burn emotional second chance was a delightful read.

Hopefully this is not the end of bossholes, I love these books. They are witty and fun and always I am wondering what will happen. There are so many parts of this story that I just wanted to know what happens, I could not put it down. What will Owen do to Luke this is just a great story. I laughed and I was drawn into the action. This series is a must read. I was drawn into the characters, one minute I liked some characters and next minute I was not happy with the way the acted. I felt like I was part of the story watching it unfold. Great series and this is a wonderful book.

This series has been so fun but this one takes the cake! I couldn’t help giggling my way through and there were some real laugh out loud moments - especially when Owen and Avery starts talking to each other, or when there are girl’s nights or pretty much when Owen is around! This was such a cute story though I really felt for both Luke and Avery (though I wish Luke would be more decisive). This was thoroughly entertaining.
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
The gang is back and this time one of the boys is in deep. It's now Luke's turn to mess up again after his top regret comes back in his life. Avery being no stranger to any of the guys being Owen's younger sister. The tension is thick but worth it. Hilarious, especially when they're all together with their women. I have a special love for Owen and am so glad he plays a big role in this story or the withdrawals would have been a nightmare. All bossholes now coupled and accounted for AMEN!! This series is the first of Kristens I have read. I will be reading more of her books in the future. Great characters that can't help but make you smile. Rom-com at its best. You will not be disappointed. He sure to read the whole series

This is Avery and Lukes story. These two are in love with each other but a past and fear keep them apart. Avery has loved him forever, even knowing her brother, Luke's best friend, would never approve, she said nothing. That is until they secretly date for a year. He was a senior in college and her a freshman. but luke ends it and breaks both their hearts. Neither one has every told a sole about there relationship. Fast toward to present day. Avery comes to work with her brother and two partners. She makes the fourth. These two are tossed together and the sparks fly, well punches, and shoes and a head butt. Their story is so cute you smile while reading, but want to choke Luke for being him. I loved the characters, the family dynamics, the friendship. Picked this book up and read in one sitting.

Humor and second chance 4.5 It's a good second chance, quite funny. The rejection, at first, between Lucas and Avery is sometimes a bit strong in my opinion, but the transition to change Avery's mind is well written, tender, funny (especially thanks to the secondary characters of the series, who are quite surprising, eccentric and hilarious around them) It’s a very good closing for this series I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I was hooked on the loved & hate relationship with Avery & Luke. I couldn’t put the book down and completed reading the book in one sitting. I love how all of Kristen’s characters are intertwined in her books. You get an extra glimpse into their story once you’ve done reading their book. This book had a little bit of everything from love, hate, family, friends and some spice.
A second chance romance that will keep a smile on your face. It's well written, pulls you in and holds your interest and gives you some moments where you can't help but snicker and maybe even laugh out loud. The characters are fun, engaging and you enjoy getting to know them.

They dated in secret years ago, he's her brother's best friend and they're all business partners. What a recipe right? Avery was a likable character and I rooted for her, Luke I had a hard time with how he behaved and treated her.

Wonderful! A second chance romance between Avery and Luke set within the Bossholes series that is funny, captivating, and sexy sweet in the pure genuineness of it! I cannot say enough about this series. These books are great!

I was instantly hooked. I love that it made me laugh out loud, feel so bad for both Avery and Lucas, and let me reconnect with Parker, Logan, Owen, and Carrie. I enjoyed it so much. I was looking forward to the release and it did not disappoint!!
Avery and Luke get their story and also a chance to explore their love again later in life. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
DISTRACTING THE BOSSHOLE is hilarious. Owen, Parker and Lucas continue their mostly immature banter while miraculously running a company together. Owen’s sister arrives to work there since she is a 1/4 part owner. Owen has kept guys from dating his sister every chance he gets. Lucas and Avery dated in secret and it didn’t end well.
Many questions will be answered as you read this book. Will Owen punch Lucas’ lights out for dating his sister? What is “shark week”? Who has inverted nips? Does Avery go out with Chad and Kevin?
It’s a bit of a slow burn second chance romance, and I read it from start to finish in one sitting. It is the last of a three books series, and can be read as a stand alone, but you will have a lot more fun starting with the first story because these guys are crazy funny.

Lucas has loved Avery all his life and once he had her he made the worst decision of his life. He broke Avery's heart. Years down the road can he win the love of his life back without fu**ing it up again. I loved this entire series. I haven't laughed so hard while reading in a long time.
