With the birth of their daughter, a new era is ushered in for the supernatural world, but not everyone is prepared to accept the terms. Archaic beliefs threaten to derail everything they’ve fought to protect.
War looms on all sides as Sloane’s army grows in ways they never could have imagined. In order to take on her sister, Emery must learn to embrace the darkness she’s come to fear, even if the price could be her soul.
With their enemies closing in and the fates demanding action, August and Emery must choose between the bond they share and the kingdom they’ve sworn to protect.
War waits for no one.
This is the epic conclusion to the Culling of Blood and Magic Series.
What an amazing conclusion to this series! There was so much in this series, adventure, fated mates, found family, plot twists, spice, vampires, witches, fae, and so much more! I loved August and Emery’s story and I could not get enough of them. I’m so glad I had all three books to binge. I loved these characters and their journey. I laughed and cried for them. My heart ached and I felt for these characters. This was such a fantastic trilogy!
Like anytime a good series ends, it’s like saying goodbye to good friends and family. I am going to miss them all!!! Definitely read the first three books in the series otherwise you will be lost. But with witches and magic, vampires, wolves, fae, Gods and a heavy serving of spice🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, this booked checked all my boxes. The characters were well written and developed already by this last book, but still grew so much by the ending. I wasn’t expecting the tears, but there is a big sacrifice towards the end I didn’t see coming and how the tears fell. I can think of only a few books that have moved me to tears, so wasn’t expecting it but it was truly a moving and beautiful moment. There was spice 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and passion, twists and turns, and relief with a side of heartache. I am truly going to miss this “family” but can’t wait for alllllll the books to come in this world. This series seems to be setting up for several spin offs and I.AM.HERE.FOR.IT 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🖤🖤🖤 We got our happily ever after and enough hints for the upcoming series that I will be counting down until they are here. I read the first three books and was asked to be an ARC reader for this last one and leave this with honest thoughts and opinions. K.M was new to me as an author before I started this series, but will be reading anything and everything that come out. Thank you for giving us a place to turn to and lose our mind and hearts in. I’ve loved this journey 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

This is the third book in The Culling of Blood and Magic series. It cannot be read as a stand-alone. If you’re interested in reading them they’re all on KU!
The fated mates trope is one of my favorites. I’ve loved the dynamic between August and Emery since the very beginning. K.M. Rives has done an amazing job with the world building to the point that I feel like I’m there.
Read this series if you like: ▪️fated mates ▪️witches, vampire and fae ▪️found family
"For us, there will never be any other way. You. Are. Mine. Just as I am yours. I will fight till my dying breath for this. You and me. Together. United.”

I think the first two books will always be my favorite. Thank you so much @kmrivesauthor for giving me the opportunity to read your arc. August and Emery are goals.

I hope it's not the end though of this paranormal world because even though the ending wrapped beautifully. I had so many thoughts, emotions, and questions about things I feel like were never explained fully. But OMG Callum!!!! Whyyy!!!! I wanted to cry. Also, thank you for not keeping them separated longer than you did but damn that was brutal haha.
I love how we got to see Emery become a badass and August become a hot lovesick puppy.👌 very hot

This is the last book in the series and it was absolutely amazing!! I didn't expect to love this series so much but I really do! It just has everything! - Fated mates - Adventure - Vampires/witches/werewolves/Fae/Hybrids - Found family - Plot twists - A war - Spice I could keep going but these are the most important things I think? In this book there are so many hard moments and the characters have to go through even more then before but in the end they come out stronger and it's just a beautiful journey. I really hope that there will be more books in this world because I want to read them all!!! I also want to thank the author for giving me this opportunity to arc read this book and take me on this amazing journey with her stories. I already added the physical books to my whislist because I need these on my shelves! 🤩
NOOOO IT CANT BE OVER! My review for book 1 said I was not a paranormal romance reader but I was CRAVING this last book and I need more August and Emery. I could also see this being an amazing movie trilogy so I need @Netflix (or preferably @Passionflix so we get all August's and Emery's spicy time!!) to get on that! I laughed, I cried and my heart ached for what these characters went through in this last book. Seeing Emery become who she was supposed to be was such a thrill and I definitely was cheering hard for her. I can't wait to read more about the other characters we met through the trilogy. This is an ARC review.
Such an amazing end to this series. I loved Emery and Augusts story! It was full of love, lust, heartbreak, and adventure. Seeing them grow together even stronger than you could’ve hoped for and celebrating with their wins in becoming King and Queen. K.M. was able to create an amazing world with the vampires, witches, fae, wolves, and hybrids. She sucked me in and I cried and laughed and felt the lust between the characters as if I was them.
This was a great conclusion to this sexy exciting series. Suspenseful and action packed.
Emery and August Nicholson have been trough some trying time throughout this three books. With the birth of there child on the horizon they are finally together and not at odds anymore. But evil doesn’t want Her to be happy.
He extended his hand to his mate, and when she reached him and placed her hand in his, August pulled her into his lap and nuzzled his nose into his favorite spot on her neck. I’ve missed you, little witch.
This story was sad at times and edgy. In the end I hope that there will be spin-offs because I really enjoyed this world and want the other characters to get there HEA also.
I have absolutely loved this series, and the culmination of all the storylines and plots is no different. This doesn’t lack spice, and there is plenty sprinkled throughout the book. The Battle Royale was well written and had some very satisfying conclusions to some characters. Add in some surprising new characters and I was hooked. I can’t wait to read some of the stories about side characters to stay in the universe a bit long.
Emery knows her evil twin is still out there, but they can’t find her. She can’t practice and train her magic while she’s pregnant, and she’s about to pop any minute. When Sloan finally decides to show up, August trades her life for his and become her prisoner with a magical vow. So know Emery is a single mom of a newborn, Queen of a kingdom that is fighting a war and warrior trying to hone her magic skills to end this once and for all. That’s all.
I’m torn on how to review this. I loved the first books so much but this one, like the last is nothing but whining. Poor Emery. She doesn’t wanna give in to the darkness. Like Emery she has a mate who can’t lose her again so he makes rash decisions. Poor Emery too much is riding in her while everyone is getting tortured. Poor Emery. She knows WHAT she needs to do. She knows August and Ansel and tons of others are being tortured / k!113d yet she refuses to do what the gods and everyone else is telling her she needs to do. This book would have been 75% shorter if she had some turmoil yes, but finally gotten to it. I had to continuously stop because i grew disinterested. As much as i loved the beginning and all the characters, i refuse to read anymore because i fear it would be the same.
"I will follow you into the dark. I will be your light.” I don't think 5 stars are enough for this — any book that makes me cry deserves more. The United is the epic conclusion to an epic love story, one that defies all odds, fate, and the gods themselves. I'm going to miss everyone like they're real people.
This book cannot be read as a standalone, and I would recommend reading the others because it’s worth it. All of them are on KU, by the way.
"While I still want to slay dragons in your name and lay siege to their hoards, more than that, I want to stand at your side while you lay waste to your own demons." I feel like I’ve shared enough about August and Emery in the other books in this series, but I can’t help myself. I’m going to do it differently, though, and show you with some quotes how they can be both swoony and playful, and so hot together. It’s a dream couple, really.
"I am going to wreck you, so no matter how much the darkness pulls at you in the heat of battle, you remember who you belong to." "I wouldn’t have it any other way." August is every bit the king, except with Emery. Emery is every bit his queen, if not officially, and 100% his. From previous books, you’ll know she’s carrying his child. From previous books, you’ll know the situation they’re facing, and how easily things can go south when magic is involved. Get ready for a bumpy ride.
"While I still want to slay dragons in your name and lay siege to their hoards, more than that, I want to stand at your side while you lay waste to your own demons." It’s time for the final battle for their happiness, and for their realm. August and Emery, and their mate bond, are front and center in this story, but there’s so much more going on. New characters who will draw you in, a new realm to explore, new friendships and allegiances, and loss. And that loss was a hard pill to swallow for me.
"You broke because it was me, because you never stood a chance at resisting me. You are mine and I am yours. But if you don’t get on that bed and let me fuck you, then we might have issues." There were a lot of times when I thought—man, can’t these guys catch a break? It’s one thing after the other, and while the world around them seems to be crumbling down, they won’t let it. The strength they need is within each other. That doesn’t make either of them weak, just…mates. They complement each other in every possible way.
"I should spank your pretty ass for that." "Don’t worry, I’ll teach you the art of groveling," "As long as you’re on your knees, I’ll allow it," Even though many of their moments are stolen ones because of what they’re up against, they’re hotter than ever. Their mate bond allows them to know each other inside out. Can you imagine having someone who knows exactly how turned on you are all the time, who wants to keep you that way, and can’t get enough of it? Yeah, and there are perks to him being a vampire, by the way!
"They were choosing to be together. A happily ever after that they willingly had to fight for every day." You’ll get all the other characters too. Malcolm (yes, still my favorite!), Callum, the wolves, the witches, the hybrids (and oh, I love Draven and Flora!). The fae. If they want not only to survive but to thrive, they must fight together for the future they deserve.
"This tight pussy is mine, forever. This body is mine to claim. And you, little witch, are my queen until our dying breaths." I wanted to be a part of it. I wanted to rip the villain’s head off, and I wanted to hug a few of the characters. There was a time when I couldn’t help myself and I just cried. KM Rives is really amazing at painting the picture: you see it, but more importantly, you feel like you’re there. You feel like this is your fight too, and you wish you had some magic of your own or some sharp fangs to enter the fray.
"As long as I’m with you, I’ll accept whatever comes our way." "This is our beginning, little witch." "No, this is our happily ever after." August and Emery have been fated mates from the start. Even when she feared him and didn’t want to be with him or be part of his Culling. Even when he hated witches, and when he hated her. Even when he wasn’t himself, and she was struggling to find herself. Even when they got separated. This should have been so much easier. It wasn’t. They’re better off for it. And, even though some of it broke my heart, so am I.
(A special thank you to the author for the chance to read this ARC, and another for the chance to line edit/proofread this book. It was a humbling experience, and I’m so grateful for it.)
This is what they were fighting for. Moments like this. The uneventful evenings with his hybrid daughter. Her future and the future of all mates and their children.
The United is the fourth novel in the new adult fantasy series, A Culling of Blood and Magic and the third (and final) novel in the story of Emery and August. Continuing off after the events of the last novel the two mates have a lot on the shoulders with the birth of their daughter, a looming war, and upheaval of a new era. In the culmination of these lovers' journey they must decide between duty and love to protect not only their friends but the world as they know it.
Emery and August continued to grab my heart and pull on it not just in the sweetness of their love but also the depths of emotions they go through during their journey. Their love truly goes through the wringer and I felt it was well written and approached. We get the time to really see them together with their beautiful baby before diving into the heart of the plot. Emery grapples with the darkness and I thought it provided an interesting twist balancing dark and light not just as opposing sides but within a person. August was just the biggest cinnamon role and I lived for it. He goes through the moment of having to decide between the good of his people and Emery and while some of his decisions did drive me insane I still really felt for him.
This book does contain spice but it doesn't overwhelm the story. I found it was well placed between the story but there was one scene that I struggled to get into because it had this layer of dub-con (closest I can say without a spoiler so read the blocked section for detail ).
"There will never be a time I don't want to **** you. Your body was made for me, and I plan to remind you of that every chance I get. Now, slide up onto the table so I can ravage your body..."
In terms of plot and world, I felt the story was pretty well done. There is a balance between character building and plot movement between the first and second half of the book. I felt the first half gave us the time to see these character fully realize themselves and their place in the world. In the second half we see the war come together. There is loss and reality to this story that helped enforce this fantasy world as something tangible and immersive. No one is truly safe and so you treasure the steps into the story. I appreciated that element of risk brought on as a result. I will say there is a lull in the 50-60% as the characters are in a kind of limbo on what to do next but it doesn't stay that way too long. I found the ending really apt for the series and there is definitely more to explore going forward but the journey for Emery and August comes to a close.
Overall I felt The United was an excellent conclusion to the journey of these two characters. We get the beauty of their romance but also an intriguing story that opens up the world really wide in the adventure. I loved the realism to the fantasy and am intrigued in seeing what happens next. There are a few character (cough cough Callum cough cough) that I would love the see get their own story and the ending makes me hopeful! This is definitely a series to check out if you love supernatural wars and fated mates with a good amount of spice!
The United by K.M. Rives is the third in the Culling of Blood and Magic Series and was definitely epic! After dealing with thinking her sister was dead and having to take her place, then later finding out she’s alive and now having to fight her, there’s so much for Emery to process! Between her new family and the kingdom, she has to find a balance as she is a witch who was taught to hate the very person and kingdom she loves. War is imminent and so is Sloane.
This is it! We have come to the conclusion of this wild paranormal romance! IF you have not read the previous novels in the series, I recommend you stop reading this and go read the first two as well as the side story! The titles are below. Okay, now, let’s go!
Overall I feel satisfied with the conclusion of August and Emery’s love story. It was kind of what I expected, but also not. There’s so much to take in and so little time to process, but it was great. I really enjoyed this series and would love to see more of the side story!
If you love a good steamy paranormal romance that has elements of fated mates and found family in the mix, then this is definitely for you! It is definitely an adult level story, so be advised.
The United by K.M. Rives Book Review 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First I want to say I big thank you to K.M. Rives for sending me an arc of this wonderful book. This book destroyed me in the best possible way, heck this entire series wrecked me emotionally. Rives, you outdid yourself, I loved the other books but this one, this is going to be a book that will stand to be in my all-time favorites list. The world-building of this series, the character depth, and the love story are some of the best I have read in a while. It is so easy to get sucked in and feel like you are right there beside the characters through their journey. August and Emery are a top-tier enemies-to-lovers couple, one that will make you cry, and scream through their whole journey in the series. I'm not exaggerating that I fully had to walk away from the book because I was sobbing so hard. It takes a lot for a book to make me cry, I'm not super emotional and I certainly don't cry with books all that often. I can count on one hand how many books made me cry, full-on sobbing, and this was one of them. Besides August and Emery, all the characters in this book I guarantee you will love. I'm trying not to spoil anything for not only this book but for the others in the series so I’m leaving out names. I love the other prominent characters in this book, and I would like to humbly request a book about my favorite guard dog and the best second in the world. I'm not ashamed to beg for those two, I happily ate all the little crumbs we got through the books. And those two aren't the only ones I want to see more of, but I don't want to spoil things so I will end it here. If you're in the mood for an epic fantasy series with fated mates, high spice, found family, plot twists, and vampires/witches/wolves, then check out A Culling of Blood and Magic Series. Do check the trigger warnings for this series and the tropes. The United comes out this Tuesday, December 6.
I cannot express to you all how surprised I am that more people aren’t talking about this series! It’s got so much to love: Magic, romance, witches, vampires, wolf shifters. And let me tell you, she is 🌶️spicy🌶️
KM Rives writing absolutely sucked me in, and I devoured the first book in this series in about two days. From there, the adventure just kept coming. August & Emery have such a beautiful & complicated relationship. I loved watching their push & pull in the first 2 books, and their tension came to an amazing crest that then turned I to unyielding companionship & love in this last novel.
Rives created SUCH a cool world, one that feels like we’ve only just scratched the surface of in terms of world building, but it was done so artfully & left a ton of space for future books set in the same universe. The magic was cinematic (especially in that last battle scene 🤯). Rives has a way of writing imagery & detail that paints the most vivid picture, & action that keeps you on the edge of your seat. To top it all off, there is a beautiful found family in this series that feels so cozy, while everyone is still distinct & unique & imperfect.
Quite literally my only critiques of this series are that the pregnancy trope went on a bit too long for my liking (which is wholly a personal preference) & that some of the conflicts/motivations of some of the characters didn’t feel fully explored, leaving me feeling the itch of seeking something *more*. That being said, Rives improved this so distinctly throughout the series, & it didn’t pull me out of the story or lessen my experience in any huge way.
All of this said, KM Rives is an author to WATCH. This story had the perfect balance of magic, romance, adventure & high stakes, with beautiful writing and endearing characters. A million thanks to the author for supplying me with an eArc in exchange for an honest review💕
This was a beautiful ending to a story filled with many twists and turns and shocking moments!
We pick up in the midst of war between the light and the dark, right where The Intended ended. And this story just kept on gaining momentum after each mountain these characters climbed.
August and Emery were faced with the greatest battle yet, and I was not at all disappointed by their growth and strength throughout their entire path. Even through their heartbreak, I was hopeful of their HEA and ached for it just as badly as them.
I was intrigued by the new characters who entered the story, and the many new developments that came along with them. Although, some of it was a bit confusing and not fleshed out deeply enough for me to really get grounded in their storyline.
Which makes me hope that maybe there is more to some of our beloved characters journeys because I felt some of their storylines were left with some unanswered questions and not enough explanations.
With that said, our little trio of mates were left with the best possible ending! Especially August’s last idea, I mean, how else can you say perfection?
I thoroughly enjoyed all the action that led up to the finale between The Light and The Dark. And maybe even teared up a bit at certain parts in the end (I’m looking at you Callum).
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure into this paranormal world and can’t wait to see what @kmrivesauthor comes up with next!!
You’ll enjoy this series if you like: 🏰Fated mates 🏰Paranormal species 🏰Adventure 🏰Found family 🏰Spice 🏰War 🏰Political intrigue 🏰Touch her and die
This is a series that will forever hold a special place in my heart. The journey K.M Rives brings you on is one you will never forget.
The United the final book in A Culling of Blood and Magic series. It’s action packed with twist and turns that absolutely broke me but also warmed my soul and kept me on the edge. I laughed, completely bawled my eyes out with a smile on my face. The world building in this book is phenomenal, from the moment you start, you’re sucked into this world.
The character growth *chefs kiss* Emery is one badass queen that definitely deserves the world. And August, the sexy vampire who would do anything for Emery. The struggle these two went through together was a up hill battle but it only strengthened the bond between them.
The smut scenes will forever live in my head rent free!! The piano scene!! GODDAMN , Rives was trying to kill me with that one!
The side characters bring so much to this story! The found family trope is so well written in this series, and I hope K.M Rives isn’t done with these characters and gives them their own books!
The ending had to be one of the most beautiful and perfect ending I’ve ever read. It fit so perfectly with these characters and although I’m sad to see Emery and August story end. I’m satisfied with the ending Rives gave them!
I recommend this series to anyone who loves a hot enemies to lovers, fated mates, found family and delicious smut!!
Thank you to K.M Rives for giving me the opportunity to ARC read! This is series will forever remain one of my favourites
In the weeks following Sloane’s last attack, August and Emery take time to regroup.
Their bond is as strong as ever and they’re trying to unite the factions to strengthen their forces, but there’s still a lot of resistance from the nobles.
But when Emery has the baby and Sloane launches yet another attack - this time complete with monstrous abominations - they have to retreat to save what’s left of their people.
How will they survive this when Sloane seems unstoppable?
Gaaah so many conflicting emotions!
Both August and Emery frustrated me so much at times. August just blindly agreeing to Sloane’s terms to save Emery and their baby. Yes, it was wonderfully noble and stemmed from a place of immense love, but so much could’ve gone very wrong. And Emery was so scared to lose herself to the dark which was understandable. But she and those training her acknowledged so many times that she had to use all her magicks to defeat Sloane. And yet she wasted so much time resisting.
For some reason there was one line that Sloane never crossed in her torture, and I’m honestly unsure why because I don’t believe she actually had boundaries of any kind. She was the epitome of awful.
I love August and Emery’s undying love for each other. Absolutely nothing Sloane or anyone else might do to them would ever change that. Even if they needed reminders themselves.
Their baby, Lina, was adorable and seemed to be just what they needed to help unite the different factions under their rule. Because everyone fell in love with the baby. She was light and laughter and unending gummy smiles.
There were so many parties and species(?) involved by the end, and although I understand the reason for the additions, I’m just not sure it was all entirely…necessary? It just felt a little too complicated at times.
And one other minor point was that the time difference thing seemed to change depending on the needs of the story. But that could just be how I interpreted it.
Honestly there was so much going on in the book. The action, world building, incredible imagery, terrifying new monsters, host of new characters, and more in-depth backstory was all wrapped up in a beautiful message of true love conquers all.
I know I haven’t rated it as high as the other books in the series but I just enjoyed them more. And although August and Emery’s story is done, the series isn’t over. There are just so many characters that can be explored in this universe too!
ARC kindly provided in exchange for my honest review.
Let me just start by saying these books are one of my favourite series ever! This is now a finished series but in order to read this book you will need to read the 3 previous books - book 3 hybrid moon rising is a side story and a standalone but it does cover bits that will make sense in other books and should be read between books 1 and 2. We start start after book 2 - The Intended. Emery and August are trying to sort through the mess of what happened at the end of the previous book, they have been through ALOT of ups and downs and are facing the trials and consequences of previous actions that have lead them to where they are currently. I won’t go in to details as I don’t want to ruin the book by giving away spoilers but it’s nice to see a villain who isn’t a pansy and is a actual villain who’s wrongdoings are unforgivable ( really hoping for a ‘bye, bye, bitch’ moment) but there’s also so many twists and turns and for once they aren’t predictable.
You will definitely need tissues for the ending, it was a bitter sweet ending but at the same time somewhat sad! Well done on your first series of books K.M Rives it was a awesome read and so well written! Can’t wait to read more from you! All in all amazing book! 5/5 stars - plot line and world building amazing!⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice level 5/5- permanent wet patch 😂 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
She broke our hearts in The Intended and she continues to do so in The United.
That's not to say she doesn't put us all back together, but my goodness, Rives has game when it comes to twisting a reader's emotions.
Emery and August have endured betrayal, loss, and sorrow only to face the destruction of their Kingdom at the hand of Emery's sister. To save the family they love, a sacrifice is made that rips not only them, but the Realms and us apart as well.
The story is played out across the Realms, seen and unseen, known and unknown. The fate of all rests in the balance, all in the hands of one little witch of light and dark who doesn't understand her magic, and doubts her ability to wield such power. These wicked games between good and evil, dark and light, are all played out on the knife edge of sanity and the shifting gray of loyalties.
I don't recommend an all nighter when you read this book, it's too involved. The threads woven throughout this series are coming together quickly, a rush read will have you missing all the delicious details.
As for how it all turns out, you didn't think I'd spill the goods, did you? Get your reading nest cozy, stock up on your favorite book snacks and drinks, settle in, and enjoy.
Finally this series about Emery and August story comes to an end!
The epic battle is finally here where Emery and the gang team up to defeat her evil twin sister, Sloane who wants to rule the world in darkness. There’s so many unexpected new comers here like the Fae and Gods who also help along the way.
Emery and August went through a lot in this book, it tested their strength as a couple with the obstacles which keeps coming up their way. However, I have to say Emery kinda change a bit in this book. She’s not the badass and sassy female I like from the first book. She’s being immature, afraid and clingy during the middle part of the story.
Callum is my favorite character from the beginning till’ the end, I feel like he deserved better to be honest.
The ending is wrapped up nicely but I think there’s a chance if the author wants to expand the series to feature another couple or future couples set in this universe.
Overall as a series this is a pretty good one. For those paranormal romance lovers that like found family, forbidden love and fated mates with lots of spicy scenes then go ahead and check this series out.
Actual Rating: 3.5⭐

I received this review copy for free from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!
First off, thank you @kmrivesauthor for sending this beautiful ARC!
Secondly! This was bittersweet. Alas, all good things must come to and end. That’s how i felt while reading Emery and August’s final journey. Seeing how far they’ve come, how much they’ve grown, how much they’ve love and friendship grew from something terrifying into something beautiful. And we continue to see them grow, we see them accept one another into their new roles, we see so much that ince you reach the end it’ll leave you so full and yet so empty. UGH! When i first read the series i didn’t know what i was getting into, and seeing everything conclude left me feeling so much 😩.
The title of this book is true to it’s name. A full circle moment. The perfect ending. A united front. I loved that even though this story concluded it opens the possibility for more, so much more and i am here for it!
☑️Fated Mates ☑️Enemies to lovers ☑️Found family ☑️Witchling discovering her magic ☑️Swoon worthy side characters ☑️Vampire, werewolves and demons, OH MY! ☑️Magical war
The United, the earth shattering conclusion to Emery and August’s story, releases December 6! You do NOT want to miss out on this one!
I really liked the series initially but by this book it felt hard to push through versus the "page turner" it started as. I was greatly annoyed by stagnation of August and Emery characters couldn't stop comparing it to the Fae Chronicles series by Amelia Hutchins. Where Amelia Hutchins pushes herself and her readers to feel every emotion and always dives deep for the best story I kind of felt like K.M Rives stops at safe.
Spoiler Alert
An example of this was when August didn't kill his father after he threatened Emery and his child. Keeping him alive longer felt safe. He was used for a couple more chapters but killing him off then would've forced the author to push past that and created another dynamic of August. I can't see Ryder from Fae Chronicles let anybody who is a threat to his family live. And that's why I can read Fae Chronicles several times a year but will only read this series once. One series stays with you and becomes the standard while the other is just another supernatural book with a heroine with great power that doubts herself literally every page. This book just made me want to read Fae Chronicles again.
So The United is simply put, AMAZING! It’s just so so good! This book has so many ups and downs for Emery and August that I just had to know how things would turn out. It was really hard to put it down! I seriously love August and Emery and they’ve grown so much in the first couple books and they still had more growing to do in this one. I also love the found family they have and how strong the bond is between their group. This book takes place on earth but also in the different Realms, so that added worldbuilding was really cool and I loved learning more about the Fae. And there are some epic battles in this book, and I mean epic! The wholesaler supernatural world is at stake! Which means the whole world because no way Sloane will stop at just the supernaturals. This book really has it all. Action, romance, spice, magic, witches, fae, vampires and more! I can’t recommend this series enough if you love paranormal romance. It is so good!!
I received an ARC from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Woah. What a wild ride this book was! Just like with the first two books in the series, I loved this one! Once again, this book was bursting with all the happenings. Some of them were heartbreaking. Some of them were filled with so much happiness it almost made me tear up. I took my time with the read and savored every bit of it. I struggled to put it down! Being three books in I've really grown some strong attachments to so many of the characters! There are so many loveable ones and I've enjoyed every second of this adventure with them. I'm sad that this is the end of August and Emerys story, but I'm also super excited to explore the perspectives of some of the other characters! Plus, I'm sure we'll still be seeing lots of August and Emery.
If you're looking for an addicting new series to read, and you're a fan of paranormal fantasy romance, vampires, witches, werewolves, fae, and royalty with some spice and darkness sprinkled in and/or if this series just sounds like one you'd enjoy, I'd definitely recommend giving it a read sometime!
This book was a phenomenal ending to the amazing story of August and Emery. I laughed, I cried, and I felt the love of family and the beauty of their mate bond. I truly felt like I was right there in their magical world experiencing the pain of the separation of the fated mates and family members…the evils of a wayward god and Sloane’s darkness, the grief of a bond lost, the beauty of its return mixed with the bittersweet loss of a close family member, and finally the happily ever after the August, Emery, the beautiful daughter, and their family and friends deserve💕 This series has been an amazing thrill ride of life, love, family, and the strength of bonded mates that stop at nothing to make their world a better place for everyone in their realm. A truly magical adventure that is a definite must read !

Overall i really liked this series and it had some really great characters that i really got attached too. I weirdly liked some of the side characters more than the main characters but there were few i hated, only Jessi and Sloane who you are supposed to hate. The ending was quite heartwarming and the final battle really made Emery a badass which i enjoyed. Theres a large amount of smut in this series which i also appreciated.
The only down side for me was that this series, particularly the last book, couldve used another round of edits. While the typos and missing words didn't take away from the story i did have to double take on a few sentances so it took longer to read. Also, you could make a drinking gamr out of this series for every time someone tips their head back to laugh or Emery gets a case of drunk bees.
This is the final book in A Culling Of Blood and Magic series! And I WAS NOT PREPARED 😭 I loved having so many different POV's in this one. It really added to the story. Especially Callums. My emotions for him were all over the place! When you start this one, you kind of have an idea of what's going to happen based on the first 2 books, right? Well. You'll be wrong. 100% wrong with the plot twists that happen. This was a beautifully written conclusion to Emery's and August's story. And I'm really hoping we get more books in this world? Maybe with some of the family as MC's? 👀🤞 Thank you for letting me recieve this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Forever grateful.
WOW. KM Rives def knew how to close out Emery and August’s story 😍 I have hope there’s going to be a spin-off with a certain, selfless hybrid 🥺
I will say this book did start off a bit slow for me. I was having a bit of a hard time with the conflict between August and Emery because after book 2 they want to argue still? But it did pick up for me during a really rough time in the book and ugh. I swear August and Emery were never going to catch a break 🥲 but the development of Emery throughout just this book alone was immense. She’s one of the strongest FMC I’ve probably ever read about.
The entire series was pretty much leading to that ending and KM Rives did not disappoint. Had the perfect balance 😉 Highly recommend.
The United is the last book in this epic fantasy series. The book was so well written and character arcs were immaculately developed. The world that KM Rives built for this series is absolutely spectacular. The book has magic, friendship, love, heartbreak. She made me feel all the feels. And feel like I was living in that world.
So many of my favourite tropes are in this book. Enemies to lovers Friends to lovers Destiny Alpha heroes Emotional scars Secret identity and so many more! Be ready lots of heartbreak, Epics friendships and some amazing smut to seal the deal.
I can’t wait to meet some of these characters in the future books set in the world.
