Life is an endless journey of perpetual healing, growth, and realizations. Holding Space for the Sun, Jamal Cadoura’s 5th book articulates these themes beautifully.
Cadoura draws off his own experiences, taking you through the lows of heartbreak and failure to the highs of inner evolution and light. He became the voice he always felt he needed to hear. This book masterfully interweaves prose filled with encouragement, light-heartedness, and positivity, with meaningful experiences and reminders that will guide you toward your most authentic self. Cadoura will ignite and reawaken parts of you you’ve long forgotten. Prepare to let go of your deepest pain, remember your worth, and embrace everything you deserve.
Giving your all to the ones who reciprocate. The ones who are willing to match your efforts.
The book is perfect for someone who just went through a heartbreak. A very painful one the author encourage us to believe in love, to know our self worth, don’t know when to stop loving someone because we don’t belong together, and how to love someone.
There are a lot of encouragements in this book about facing challenges in your life, conquering your trauma, and that you are worth of someone’s love. a lot of encouragement for us to try to do your things because it creates a change. A change is not always easy, but it can make us a better person. No need to be afraid of changes because you only have to leave yourself, believe in your capabilities. You’re not a failure just because something didn’t work out. You are so brave for giving your all, even though you know you could get hurt. That’s why you are worthy and why you should never give up.
Not only telling us to try new things, believe in love, and the author also tell us that it’s OK to bids farewell to someone if we don’t share the same frequency. Sometimes you’re the one who bids farewell. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Be proud that you’re strong enough, and selfless enough, to do what’s right, even if it entails breaking your own heart. Often times we are the villain in another person’s story.
A beautiful book. Finished it and immediately started back at the beginning.
This reads almost like poetry, with each "chapter" only being a page or two. I now read one chapter each morning when I first wake up to set the tone for the day.
This book is a loving reminder that you are enough, that heartbreak happens, and an inspiring take on finding true, fulfilling love.
Jamal Cadoura's "Holding Space for the Sun" is the closest thing I have ever found to a hug in word form.
Every page continues to coat the reader's heart in happiness and peace. Cadoura doesn't achieve this by being sappy or superfluous, no. He achieves it by being genuine and real. He acknowledges how hard life can be, the difficulties of finding love, and the struggle to validate oneself. Yet, in every single situation, he manages to point out the hope.
One of my favorite things about this book is how it treats love and vulnerability. It does not mock those with kind hearts, it empowers them. It shows time and time again how being vulnerable, kind and loving is a strength, not merely something to be stomped out. Cadoura recognizes that as vulnerable people, we are often hurt and taken advantage of more by others. Still, he recognizes that is simply a consequence of being a kind person.
My mom bought this book for me on a whim in a book store, and I could not be more thankful she did. I will never stop recommending this book, because it has messages that everyone needs to hear.
If you just went through a break up, this book is for you. If you are happily (or unhappily) in a relationship, this book is for you. If you need a pick-me-up, this book is for you. If you want relationship advice, this book is for you. If you keep settling for less than you deserve, this book is for you. If you are an overthinker, this book is for you.
In short, this book is for everyone.
Do not delay reading this little book filled with infinite nuggets of truth. I am telling you right now, it will change your outlook on life, love and most importantly: yourself.
I have read this book 3 times now and each time, it gives me a new perspective and helps me grow a little. I would highly recommend everyone to read this book. It truly does feel like a warm hug once you finish the book. It’s not long and can be finished within a day and is the most helpful self-help book I have ever read
