A lot has changed for Cid. A lot has happened. He has friends. A new home. A new family. Things lost and things gained. Precious things. But the best is yet to come. A wedding and tom foolery. Cid is getting married.
I love this genre so I decided give the series a chance when it came out as a complete set. I binged through it. Honestly, it was ok but CID, the main character, constantly frustrated me. He carried a grudge for much too long and he did stupid things a seasoned veteran wouldn’t typically do. One of the most likable characters, the old elder, seemed to be vilified entirely too much. I loved the relationship he and the mc had but it all turned to crap in a ridiculous way. I don’t highly recommend this novel but if you’re really into the genre and have some free time, there are worse things to read out there. The litrpg title is a bit of a stretch since it was hardly used as a vehicle beyond the first book. By the final book, the series was basically a light novel, which is also a genre I enjoy. Anyway, happy reading.
I hate to say it. I really do. I enjoyed the first two books in the series, but this one lacked all the qualities that made them fun. There was no farming. No slice of life. It read more like a high school level fantasy novel than anything else. The amount of second-hand embarrassment I felt from Cid alone almost made me put the book down multiple times.
The battles made no sense whatsoever. The progression and characters didn’t make sense. In fact, most of the characters weren’t believable at all. I skimmed the last several chapters just because reading it was too difficult.
I’m leaving three stars, only due to how much I enjoyed the first two. But this one? It’s a two.
Cid requires just the simple life after guard career will it ever come to pass .
Cid retired to Haven for the simple an quiet life but something always seems to interrupt his simple quiet life .Necromancers attacking the village after the Mana Cavern . Forced to become a Magic Knight given constable duties partroling the village . Undead attacking Hearthstone sent to help solve problems facing city .during all that he found love as well to Maggie .recommend reading excellent series .
A very easy story to read. The plot was so different from most fantasy that I have read before.I admit to being fed up with so much sex and foul language in so many books today, that it was a great to read this series. I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys light, pleasant stories.
I liked this book. I've moved away from straight up adventuring stories because nobody has an original thought, they think they can cover a weak plotline with gratuitous cursing. This story had good characters, flowing plots, good villains that weren't overpowered and human frailties and strengths. Exciting but relaxing read. Thank you.
I loved this book! It kept me glued to my Kendal and I enjoyed it tremendously. I admired the resolutions for Lyle and Wilber. The battle with the undead was great, but the way the townsfolk came to the rescue was beyond cool! The ending was very "feel good" and pleasant. Highly recommended!
Mana Harvest 3: A Cozy Fantasy Adventure (Sword to Ploughshare Saga), my sixteenth read from author Wolfe Locke. A captivating, page-turning, well-written read. “I received a free copy of this book and now I'm voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I always look forward to the next work from him. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
So fun! I too love the Maggie character. I love how you wrote characters that were strong and able to stand on their own but together they were more powerful than standing alone. I also loved the wedding scene, great descriptions.
So far this has been an enjoyable series- but the author definitely stepped it up for this volume. Not sure this is the finale, or just the end of an arc. But either way, I’m good with it.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters continue to be interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next if there is more to come. This is definitely worth reading.
If your looking for just a simple trilogy that has a little fantasy and romance you will love it. It’s got enough side stories to make it fun and keep you interested!
A very good book that had about everything including plenty of intrigue, action, magic, harrowing fights, and romance. I hope there is another book in this series.
I loved this series, and the interactions between the characters. I especially loved the mentioned of the Adventure Rest, a little nod to Shatter Fist.
But it really picked up toward the end. It was pretty good and I appreciate that he didn’t close the door for a spin-off or sequel if something came to mind.
