When the Mandalorian finds out his prey is a child of a mysterious race, a foundling just like he once was, his life changes forever. Wanted by other bounty hunters and by what remains of the Galactic Empire, the infant forces the lone warrior to travel from planet to planet until running is no longer an option.
The comicbook adaptation of the hit Disney+ The Mandalorian series, Season One. Suitable for readers aged 8+, also includes extra features on characters and backstory.

The Mandalorian TV show is one of my absolute favourites, however this graphic novel was more just a brief overview of everything that happened in Season 1, rather than an in depth graphic novel. However, this was done so briefly that sometimes the scenes that were cut made this make less sense than it needed.
The artwork was great and it’s a great piece to add to my Mandalorian / Baby Grogu collection but it’s definitely not a gripping, amazing read like the show.
A good quick read that covers all the important points of The Mandalorian season 1.
If I had one complaint it is that it was too rushed. A number of action scenes were left out of the book to make sure they got all the story points. So I do understand why this was done. Having said that the important battles are in the book.
I would definitely but season two in the same format, but I would be happier with a bigger page count to more action panels can be kept in.
3 ⭐️ It was basically just a summary of the show but I’m not sure what else I was expecting it to be? 🤷♀️ the animation style was cute and mando was still hot sooo no complaints from me!
Can't recommend to read it if you watched the series already. Intense and important moments only got like 2 Panels, big parts of the story are shortened (the whole season got like 70 pages). Other then that the story is 1:1 from the series, so nothing new in there.
The version I’m reviewing is based on the complete series (seasons 1,2 and 3) of the Disney+ TV show.
Unlike other graphic novels and mangas (see my other reviews) this is the most condensed version, cutting out many scenes from the show. It is mainly The Mandalorian and hardly any stories or antidotes from Grogu. The book is targeted towards younger readers (found in the children’s book section).
If you have never watched the TV show, then don’t read this novel. So many scenes were cut out that it was a bit jarring. Since Disney have given them the rights and they have cut so many scenes, I was hoping they would include the last 3 episodes from the Book of Boba Fett to explain the reunion between Din Djarin and Grogu. But no, it was just one picture frame with the statement from the armour that he is Mandalorian no more, a few lines about them rejoining together and it starts at season 3. I was hoping since they cut out so many scenes for all the season 1 and 2 chapters that they can do the same for that part of the story into this book.
Anyway, the stars are for the artists only. I just wish the storyboard designers had fix that Boba Fett episodes issue, but that wasn’t the case. There is true bias in my review because I had watched the show. I would like to hear from readers who haven’t watched the show and their thoughts on this novel.
A good adaptation for young children, but not for anyone else. I do like the artwork in this much better than the graphic novel adaptations of the films. I also think I like the art in this better than the Marvel comic adaptation. That being said, this doesn't add anything to the story other than putting it in a format young readers can enjoy.
I really enjoyed this new delve into the Star Wars universe and the story of the struggle of the Mandalorian identity after the siege of Mandalor a definite read!
Nice and quick read. Felt like an interesting summary of "The Mandalorian" tv series. Might not be interesting for someone who watched the series already, but for me, as Star Wars fan, I really enjoyed it. Who doesn't love the little Grogu.
