But betrayal threatens to break her completely. When she wakes in an unknown room, chained to a wall, her plans collapse around her.
The men sent to stop her must now do whatever it takes to save her. With trust crumbling and everything on the line, Conan, Ezra and Darius are determined to get her back.
SECRETS HIDDEN IN THE DARKNESS MUST COME TO LIGHT EVENTUALLY. BUT THE TRUTH MAY RUIN THEM ALL.
This book contains potentially triggering content and a list of trigger warnings is provided at the beginning of the book, please read with care. This is a fantasy "why choose" novel, meaning that the main character does not have to choose between the love interests. There is a HEA.

This book was a perfect completion to the duology. It started right where book 1 ended. Rory is kidnapped by her partner’s ex. Conan, Ezra and Darius does what needs to be done to bring back their love. Throughout the book you witness their strength and vulnerabilities compliment and help each other grow for the better of their group. Rory never had a coven but she did find her family. The spice is 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽. Highly recommended reading this book!
Sexy, sinful and delicious - what more could you want from a dark fantasy reverse harem?
Revenge & Roses is the second and final book in the Revenge Duet. Picking up where book one left off, we’re thrown straight into the aftermath of the cliffhanger, and oh lord is it exciting…
The characters are so well-written and I can’t pick a favourite (Darius shh don’t tell them it’s you), there’s endless character development throughout the two books and the way that it impacts the relationships felt so real. Rory is still a badass and her reluctance to let herself go soft for the guys was so funny, she’s surprisingly relatable considering I’m not a dark witch on a revenge mission surrounded by sexy mystics (to my absolute dismay).
Of course, I can’t mention the sexy mystics without talking about the sex (so much sex). It's kinky and fun, but dark and emotionally raw at times. With MM/MF/MMF/MMFM, the author gives us it all!. Chapters 12-13 are definitely up there with my favourites 🔪🥵🩸
For me, the pacing was perfect. Fast but not rushed, the author managed to keep the story moving but still had time for all of the aforementioned kinkiness. There’s also plenty of dark humour throughout to keep you turning the pages in between all of the darkness.
This is a fun, fairly quick read with lots of the tropes/themes I love to see. I can’t wait to find out what happens in Honey & Hellfire when it releases (book one in a connected duet), I’m excited to find out more about Grace!
Revenge & Roses is out now! With lots of action from our bisexual boys and being written by a bisexual author, this is a great book to add to your Pride month reading list (in my bisexual opinion). Start with book one, Thieves and Thorns, which is available on Kindle Unlimited!
(ARC review - I received a free copy of this book from the author)
Umm, okay, so… wait. Wait. Yes, okay, yes. Hi. Wow. This book was spicyyyyy. This series opened up something new in my brain. Don’t think I’ll try it but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like it.
Rory’s story continues, picking up where we left off in Thieves and Thorns. I was scared for Darius for a moment there, but he is the most loyal demon I have met, even when he is on the brink of losing his little thief. Conan’s story was more than my little heart could handle, I just wanted to give him a hug (and let him dominate me). And Obviously I’d keep Ezra as my resident pup around the house.
I love how Rory grew into herself. She had had such an amazing development in the first book but seeing her in this book, how she finally opened up to the boys and got even stronger for it, I couldn’t be more proud of her. She is strong and independent and doesn’t need a man. But that doesn’t mean she should have one… or three.
Thank you Scarlet for an amazing read. I look forward to your future books, definitely Grace's story.
Beware of any trigger warnings, but if you don’t have any problem with them and like a bit, a lot, of kink, this is the book for you.
I honestly loved this book it was a great way to end the duet. The degrdation and praise kinks were magnificent. I love all the characters they are great i think my favorite is Conan but theyre all amazing. This book had a really good story and the spice was so good. I highly recommend this book for anyone that loves Reverse Harems, degredation, praise, demons, wolves and witches.
Revenge & Roses is the second book in the Revenge Duology. It picks up right where book 1 left off and we’re thrown right into action! Rory is just as sassy and fierce but also learning that it’s okay to let people in sometimes - I love that growth for her! She’s never had a coven before but that doesn’t mean she can’t have family ♥️
The boys! Conan, Ezra and Darius 😍 they’ll do anything for Rory, including going straight to hell and back for her (LITERALLY!). I constantly go back and forth on which guy is my favorite but if Rory doesn’t have to choose why should I?!
I really enjoyed the balance between the plot and the spice. THE SPICE. The words I have couldn’t possibly do it justice so I’ll just say that it’s some of the best I’ve read! 🥵
I cannot recommend this book enough. If you haven’t read the first book (Thieves and Thorns), what are you waiting for?! You don’t want to miss out on this delicious duology.

The first 25% was really good, but unfortunately it dropped so much after that and I got bored. Actually, I think all aspects are really good, but somehow this series doesn't really give me much.
❛ 'I have never for a single [redacted] second doubted your strength,' I told her, wrapping an arm around her waist and tugging her close. She didn't soften into me, but she didn't pull away again either. 'But you don't have to be strong all the time, hellhound. You are allowed to be scared, to cry, to just... be.' ❜
I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of Revenge and Roses in exchange for an honest review.
5 STARS ✨
The conclusion for the duet is finally here, and it was definitely worth the wait! Badass Rory is back with her boys Darius, Conan and Ezra. It starts right where the first book ended and is just as spicy and enthralling as book one. Once again, Scarlet has balanced spice, humour and plot excellently and Revenge and Roses deserves all of the praise. The writing was fantastic and it is easy to get through, I'd definitely recommend it if you're in a reading slump because Scarlet's work is something you just dive into and before you know it, you're finished and you want more.
Rory is just an excellent main character that you can root for — she's no damsel in distress and certainly doesn't need any help to achieve her goals. A lot of books can easily fall into the trap of having a strong female main character and, as soon as she's found a man, she loses the badass elements that make her who she is. With Revenge and Roses, that is not the case, even with three men, Rory remains her authentic, powerful self and I loved that for her. Rory also remains unapologetically morally grey and I loved that for her. In fact, Rory and her boys are all unapologetically morally grey and I think that's probably one of my favourite things about this duet.
I liked that in Revenge and Roses you got further background on the boys; although one of them required a lot of grovelling afterwards and broke my heart a little, it allowed a depth for Darius, Conan and Ezra that we had received for Rory in Thieves and Thorns.
However, I think the most potent and important message from the duology, beyond the humour and the spice is the importance of life as a survivor and Rory's growth. A lot of the interactions between Rory and the boys throughout Revenge and Roses brought me to tears because Scarlet wrote it in an appropriate and meaningful way that highlighted the difficulties Rory was having moving on and the strength that it takes to do so. Scarlet's words have an evoking influence, leading you to experience strong emotions when delving into the vulnerabilities of her characters. Whilst it is tear-provoking, it provides an important message that there is life after trauma.
The ending made me feel warm inside, although it is bittersweet to know that the story of Rory and her boys has now concluded. I can't wait to read Grace's story, and reconnect with them then, but it's still emotional knowing that their story has been told.
And Scarlet, thank you for taking my wild annotations from book one about Darius and including my little nickname for him in book two. I'm sorry for squealing about it at midnight, but that was everything.
One last chance to achieve what she's been striving for all along.
Revenge and Roses by Scarlet King is the second book in "The Revenge Duology." A story of revenge and reclaiming power, with a side of lust and sin. A reverse harem fantasy romance with enough heat and intrigue to have you hanging by a thread.
The story continues, following the four mythics; Rory, the heroine, and witch; Ezra, the shifter; Conan, the elemental; and Darius, the demon. After the near traumatic cliffhanger Thieves and Thorns left on, the plot thickens as revenge creeps closer to Rory's fingertips. The four explore their relationship and vulnerabilities, character development stretching page by page, in an utterly addicting way. Rory didn't need their help, but with them wrapped around her finger, they are more than willing to give it to her...and more. She's fiery and stubborn, and the arrogance among Ezra, Darius, and Conan crave it.
What is a reverse harem romance without spicy moments of kinks that radiates heat that burns as hot as the depths of Hell? Exploration of group scenes and MM scenes, with raw and vulnerable moments. As I mentioned in my review of the first book, the smut had a tremendous impact on the story, and it is worth noting how well executed it was throughout the book.
As for the writing and the beautifully executed ending...I HAVE NO WORDS. I have been reading Scarlet's work since she started publishing, and something about her way with words and storytelling (...and, of course, spice) continues to hook me every time.
Revenge and Roses was the perfect conclusion to a story with the darkest of twists and fantasy elements for any dark romance reader needing a sexy and character-driven book recommendation.
The absolute understatement of this book is that I am beyond excited for Honey and Hellfire. What does Scarlet have up her sleeve for Grace's story? All I know is it will leave me as speechless and enthralled as this duet.
*Revenge and Roses, like Thieves and Thorns is a dark romance.

Revenge and Roses was the perfect ending to the Revenge Duet.
One of my favourite things about Scarlet's writing is her ability to emotionally destroy me while also giving me everything I could want from a steamy book, and she did not disappoint.
The plot picks up exactly where it left off in Thieves and Thorns- Rory's been kidnapped by Darius' ex, the guys need to save her and a whole bunch of crazy shit happens.
I loved every single page I read.
The book is filled with smut, and I mean FILLED, but it does not detract from the story for a single second. If anything it truly furthers it.
So much of Rory's healing happens through the sex scenes Scar has included, and it's incredible to see.
Rory's been through an immeasurable amount of trauma, but the fact that she can find three guys to fall in love with, and learn to be loved in the midst of a revenge plot and experiencing more trauma is *chef's kiss*. The reality is that this is only possible because of the character growth that takes place for each of the main 4 characters.
I can't wait for Scarlet's next book, and I very much look forward to reading Grace's story in Honey and Hellfire.
What a great conclusion to this duet! It picks up right where we left off and immediately, we’re thrown back into the action. I really enjoyed this book; the characters are great, and the spice is off the charts. There is a lot of spice, you have been warned. It’s a little more spice than plot but it’s excellent. I love seeing the relationships between Rory and her guys; I love seeing their growth in trusting each other and forming relationships. Rory is everything I love, she’s a bad*$$, and she loves violence. She’s submissive when necessary but mostly she’s feisty, fierce, and outspoken. The guys are awesome, Darius gets himself in a wee bit of trouble which causes a lot of tension but the angry bloody smexy times make up for that 😉. Conan and Ezra are fantastic; all three of these guys will do anything for Rory. The dynamics between the group are great, it’s fun to watch how they all work together to take care of Rory. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves pnr (demons, witches, wolves) RH, tons of spice, degradation, praise, blood, and more! Don’t miss this, I can’t wait to see what Scarlet does next!
I find a lot with duets, most of the second book is pointless. It's a ton of filler.
I wish this had just a bit more drama in the beginning. She wasn't even kidnapped for more than five minutes before saving herself.
Though I love that time and time again she holds her own. She's strong enough to handle it but she's also strong enough to lean on the others.
I liked Conan a LOT more in this book. Seeing more of his vulnerability was really touching for such a hard person.
I did wish this book went darker. For the trigger warnings given, besides the "dubious/CNC" it's all mentioned in passing. So like it happens but you don't get any details.
And even the CNC for me was pretty light, but the warning is good in case anyone needs it. But if you love dark stuff it's fine.
I'm definitely interested in seeing wtf happens to Grace with Harlow.
Revenge and Roses ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Holy hell That's all I've got for this book. We picked up where we left off. Rory had been kidnapped and given back to the man she never wanted to see again, the man who is the star of her nightmares. Darius's secrets and betrayals are out, and Ezra and Conan are trying to keep it together to get their girl back. But they forgot one thing Rory is a badass and doesn't need saving.
This book is so smutty and delicious. It has everything you could want. Degradation, praise, grovelling, and 🔪🩸 kink. its also full of love and turmoil, this group are finaliasing their bonds and supporting each other on their individual paths. They're so insync with eachother and I am so happy they all got their happy ending. this was the perfect finish to this duet. But I know there is more to come, and I can't wait to see what comes next.
*ARC review* Wow, so… WOW!!!! I couldn’t wait till this book comes out and it was for a reason!! I ate this book in one day and have no regrets! Had to process everything again to write a review haha
Second book with these boys, Scarlet girl, you better pay for my underwear and therapy😂 I loved everything about this book, characters personal growth, plot (as we all know it’s mostly smut🫢😈) and the way it was written. Totally recommend if you need a chill well written book with top tier spice🔥 🤩 So excited to hear Grace’s story in next book! I always was curious about her 👀 10/10⭐️
I feel bad but I really wanted more from this. I loved the first book. I feel like the story could have been so much deeper. Rory is definitely a brat but she annoys me, especially barging in on Conan in the shower, so demanding. Poor Grace! I seriously thought Rory would have been all over getting her back, she just kind of forgot about her and just mentioned her here and there. If that was one of her blokes she would ripped Earth apart for them. I don’t know, I just found it hard to stay interested which sucked because I like the first book a lot.

Make the first book like 75 pages longer and wrap this shit up because I cannot read another 300 pages of riding.
I was hopeful for some plot/action with the ending of book 1 but then that storyline wrapped up within 20 pages and we're back to Rory whining about how she wants to be independent and the 3 guys dick-matizing her into admitting she needs them. There's too little backstory/depth for this story to carry a whole other book and if I have to read one more sex scene I'll have an aneurism 🙄
The ending to this was perfect! There was so much leading up to it and it was so well executed. Rory is taken by Darius' wife Rosa, but things do not go as planned and Rory escapes after Rosa gave her to Eryx. Darius, Conan, and Ezra enlist the help of her best friend but there are consequences. I really enjoyed this book and the chemistry was off the charts. I can't wait to read more from this author! I received this ARC from the author for an honest review.
4.5 stars! I loved this book! The chemistry between Rory and her mates was incredible and I loved their dynamics! And also Conan and Ezra have their own history which I loved! The book has a lot of steamy scenes which I loved and I found the plot very catchy! The only minor thing for me was that I would like to have the plot a little more developed but all things considered was a fantastic reading!
I am upset that this was a duology. I wanted the story to continue for longer!
This storyline was wrapped up nicely within these two books. I enjoyed the 3 men and their unique interactions with Rory. I felt like each of the men had time to flesh out personalities and be individual entities.
The plot was interesting and I was waiting for this book to be released to read how this series ended and I was not disappointed!
Okay I liked it but I didn’t like it more than the first book. I felt as though the relationship was unbalanced, in RH’s there needs to be equal footing in all the relationships and I feel like Conan & Ezra took up majority of her time and Darius was constantly being left out. Other than that I enjoyed it but the whole storyline with the Vamp’s kind of fell flat in the end for me. This is my first book from this author, I’m going to try to read Grace’s story and see how that goes.
I received an ARC in exchange for a review, thank you so much to the team for the copy! Revenge and roses has it all: spice, plot, and great characters. Each one stands on their own in a strong ensemble cast, and Rory of course shines. I really liked the continuation of their story and it’s bittersweet to see it end (looking forward to Grace though!)
Once again scarlet out did herself 🥹 The connection between all the characters has me emotional 😂 not to mention how badass Rory is. She will forever be one of my favorite characters I’ve ever read about. She gives no fucks and I’m here for it. I’m sad so say goodbye to these characters but I’m excited to read more from scarlet in the future 🖤
This book was amazing from start to finish. The strength that Rory portrays as well as the depiction of healing from trauma was amazing. I love all of the characters and their devotion to each other and the way that the series lines up for potentially a shoot off series is exciting. Definitely read trigger warnings but overall this book is enticing and a fantastic ending to the duet🖤
About 80% smut 20% plot. Which usually I have no issue with but the smut was mainly Ezra and Conan, Darius got sidelined massively over the entire duet, and he was the one I liked the most 🙍🏼♀️ And all except her very brief stint in Hell, the whole book was basically in her bedroom and it just got repetitive and boring.
B. A. D. Bad. Just. Bad. No plot. No development. It’s like novella style spice and I was SO EXCITED for the revenge and bad ass FMC but she’s not badass. She’s just angry all the time and bitter. The ONLY MMC I liked ended up being a tool and his reasoning was shit. Just. Poor choices on all fronts.
Well that was a spicy conclusion!!! Full of action, banter and, of course, a helluva lot of smut. Rory gets justice and revenge Eryx gets what’s coming to him Darius earns forgiveness Ez and Conan find peace
I loved this duet. Scarlet is a fantastic writer and I can’t wait for Grace’s story
