Boy oh Boy! This was a passionate romance between an African-American photographer and a Native American jewelry dealer. The earth definitely moved between these two characters. I enjoyed the cultural/historical information provided about the Native American hero's tribe. It was a well-written piece without all of the fluff. I found that the author did a good job balancing all of the passion/romance with the complexities of a developing relationship. Overall, an excellent choice if you are looking for a hot and heavy interracial romance.

An AWESOME read! I felt like I was SMACK DAB in the midst of all the beautiful scenery and wondrous events unfolding throughout this ENGAGING romantic tale. Ms. Alexis pulls you in from the first page and holds you CAPTIVE until the very end. The characters have such depth and intrigue you can't help but become CAUGHT UP in the romance, beauty and customs revealed throughout this story. The intense heat and passion that Justine and Darrius share with one another is definitely SIZZLIN', yet very heart-warming. Darrius is EVERY woman's fantasy! And Justine is quite charming, despite her EXTREMELY, often dangerous curious nature. A MUST Read for anyone looking for a HOT & SPICY romance, with an informative, yet entertaining mix of the Native American culture.

I absolutely LOVED this book, from the first page I was unable to put it down! I loved the exploration of Justine and Darrius' relationship and overall Alexis does a great job of pulling you in and making you a part of the novel. This book is filled with passion, history, culture, love, thrills, heartbreak and pure joy. Furthermore it was filled with hot, sizzling, raw passion with a wonderful mix of romance and legend. I honestly can say that this is the first book in three years that has made me actually cry. You won't want to put this book down!

I found this story quite educational. I looked into my own native american ancestory a bit after reading it and decided to display my great-grandmothers dolls that she made when she was younger. I wish I had sat still long enough to let her teach me how as she doesn't really remember at her age.

The story line and characters are good. There is some good information on powwows and tribal events. My disappointment was in the dialogue between the characters. It sounded too much like middle school, too forced. The conversations did not sound natural, old slang used for a book in 2009. Found myself rolling my eyes and groaning at conversations that were to be between a 40 year old man and a 30 something woman. I almost didn't finish the book.

Photojournalist Justine Roberts-Paretti is sent to New Mexico to shoot the Intertribal Ceremonial for the San Francisco Examiner. She loves learning more about Native American culture and respectfully exposing the beauty of it and the Southwest.

Within minutes of arriving, she makes her first stop at "Red Sky" her friends favorite online store to buy a bracelet whe. It's there she meets and falls head over heels in love with its owner, the heartstoppingly gorgeous, Darrius Red Sky.

Both have been hurt from past relationships and aren't looking for love, but are smart enough to grab it with both hands when loves comes their way. The only thing standing in their way is Justine's innate curiousity and stubborness and Darrius's lack of trust and fear of outsiders exploiting his culture. The question is, can they get past these obstacles and find the love they can't live without?

While this is an okay book, the dialog was too often one slightly twisted cliche after another followed by an exclamation mark.

The characters themselves, especially Justine were a bit too cartoonish. I often felt as if parts of the story that would have made the story more fleshed out were left out and later referred to and replaced with interior dialogue that I could have lived without.

The one good thing this book gave the reader was a peek into the legends of the Hopi and other Native American tribes and for that reason alone I would suggest someone read it.
