I was supposed to be his mate. Then he rejected me. So why won’t he let me go?
When Jack Beaumont rejected me, I vowed to do my best to get on with my life. Suppression spells, potions — anything to keep the heats at bay whenever he’s near.
Unfortunately, anytime there’s trouble, he’s there. Brooding. Protective. Alpha. And unwilling to give me the one thing I truly want: him.
Our bond was a ruse, but I’ll do anything to protect her.
Claire Landon should never have presented for me. I was her savior in her darkest hour, triggering a life of longing and need that I can never make good on.
Now, someone is abducting witches in Mystic Springs. And the only way to keep Claire safe is by watching her every move. But can I possibly do that without finally taking her and making her mine, despite knowing that if I do, she’ll wind up hating me forever?
Knot His Type is book two of the Mystic Springs Series, a series where witches find their fated mates in powerful, protective alpha warlocks. This book has all the knotty, slick, heat-rich rutting-wildness that makes Omegaverse so much fun with the slow-burn sweetness of a small town, magical romance. This book is steamy AF, so make sure you’re ready to handle this heat!
As an avid enthusiast of the fated-mate trope, I've actively avoided the rejected mate trope as I was sure it would be heartwrenching. Knot His Type did not disappoint in tugging at my certified crybaby heartstrings. I'm usually quite critical of how a book ends, but I found myself thoroughly enjoying the ending. It was meaningful to the plot; it resolved the loose ends and gave way to what the reader (me) wanted to see from the beginning.
I liked this universe’s take on omegaverse (where witches and warlocks have evolved to have alphas and omegas)… but the whole “pushing her away for her own good” as the main conflict meant we didn’t see Claire and Jack as an actual couple for much of the book, and made it hard to root for them. I was still engaged enough to finish the book, but this one is in the “ok” bucket.
I love the angst between Jack and Claire. The clear devotion they have for each other. I also loved the mystery and suspense of their story. They got a great ending that left room for the sorry to continue with some of the side characters getting their HEA. I’m very excited to see more about the trafficking and seeing it coming to an end as well!
Another Omegaverse story I'm dropping. This wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best either. I definitely wasn't a fan of the ALMOST doormat heroine, and gosh, witches and warlocks being Alpha-Omega - the concept - was a little weird. I'd pick shifters being knotty any day, that makes more sense to me.
Anyway, I don't have much issue with witches (even if I'm not a fan), but it was painful to see the male lead denying his mate by being seriously obtuse.
The whole 'I'm attracted to you, but don't wanna be your mate because you deserve better and it was an accident' troupe just dragged on that I decided I'm not going to waste another second of my time off to read something that doesn't get me going.
This second book in the Mystic Springs series is much improved than the first installment. This story too is set in Witchy Omegaverse and I’m loving this world. This story has a great plotline with some action and suspense thrown in. The heroine is very likeable, feisty, and knows how to stand up for herself. The hero, on the other hand, is the one you want to grab by the shirt collar, give a good shake, and say,” don’t be so pig-headed and push away your mate. How can you blind that you can’t see she is your mate by choice?.”
The plotline in a nutshell is that the heroine, Claire, presents for the hero under less than ideal circumstances (she had just finished killing her kidnappers) and the cop hero, Jack, shows up to rescue her. When she presents herself and declares he is her mate, he assumes it is because of the forced bonding drug injected into her body by the kidnapper baddies, and rejects her claim. And, in an effort to be noble and give her back the choice to choose a true mate, he tries to stay away. She repeatedly tells him he is her true mate but he doesn’t believe her.
That said, he can’t stay away from her however hard he tries. He is pulled towards her but he pushes her away. She time and again tries to get close to him but he is brusque with her. Almost 75% of the book features some variation of this push-pull dynamics. Anyway, they tiptoe around each other in this manner for 8 years before finally succumbing to the pull of the mating bond.
There is a lot of repetitive content in the book where the hero thinks the heroine should be given a choice of true mate, and the heroine refusing this choice and stating she has already selected him. This book could have been shortened by 1/4th if the repetition was cut down.
Other than that, this book was great! It was a second chance love story and done pretty good. There was even a great grovel scene in the end. In all, I would rate this solid 4 stars.

3.75⭐️ a great blend of a lil witchy town and that classic omegaverse goodness😏👏this had my poor heart going through it😭😭💔but like in the best way. I love reading angst like this even tho it literally makes me feel like I’m being ripped in half😅overall, this book gave what I was expecting so I’m pretty satisfied, but there is an unresolved plot point. I’m assuming it’s going to continue in the next book, which I plan on starting next anyways so it’s not a huge deal for me, but anyone reading this as a standalone will be left with some unanswered questions. also; the writing was kinda mid, like the pace was a bit off and the world building wasn’t up to par for me, but it is only this authors second book so there’s room to grow/it’s still an enjoyable read!
So rare that MF a/b/o are, sometimes I don't have high expectations in reason of experiencing this niche so it was a pleasure to be surprised with this cozy small town romance that is spicy in the right measure and offers a good amount of angst. Unfortunately, it lacks the necessary groveling so that the FMC shows self respect. I felt like she was always begging to be heard, for any kind of attention, really, sometimes putting herself in harm's way because she only got cared for after getting hurt. Doing ONE hard thing and dumping your feelings on your desired partner due to your sudden epiphany that she is "the one" (she was communicating that for years) isn't enough.
dude jack is the lamest man in the trilogy like have some common sense AND balls his inner dialogue isnt even cunty like gabriels when he called that girl a cw extra
same issues as last book but jack is a lameass cop (ew), i will say i like claire more than harper and journalist/cop investigative duo is a fun dynamic
MMC/FMC- Jack and Claire Genre- Omegaverse Heat- open door, explicit Series? Y Safety? Y Triggers? Attempted SA, Attempted Unaliving, Violence. Tropes- Fated Mates, Rejected Mate, Witch and Warlock, Knotting, Presenting. What I liked- there was both mystery and romance in this book, but the romance was extra special.
A new omega verse!!! Not as good as the first one, but still a welcome change to the normal tropes. Lower rating cause there were a few plot holes that I had questions about, and cause I wasn’t as hooked as the first one. But still a very very good book!

📕 52% “Part of me knew he deserved it. Not only for taking me that night, but also for taking these young girls. Damn. I couldn’t do it. Not yet. Not unless I had the chance to confront him.”
- God save from me silly FMCs. Want to bet that he will trap her instead and maybe even torture her AGAIN?
📕 56% “I cursed my earlier stupidity. I should have boiled his stupid brains in his oversized head when I had the chance. Curse my idiotic ideals.”
- Called it! Like said: silly FMCs. I can’t even derive any joy from being right. It was just so fishing obvious.
📕 85% - You know what? They are equally silly. Makes them perfect for each other after all.
📕 87% “In the back of my mind, I knew I wasn’t thinking as clearly as I should be given the circumstances, but I was beyond caring. I told myself I was prepared. That if I ran into Sven, the warlock who had gotten away from me a second time, I could deal with him now. That’s what I told myself, anyway. There was no way in hell I would call Jack Beaumont.
- Sigh. Silly, silly FMCs. Again🤦🏾♀️. Of course! Walk into an obvious trap again. The strong, big alpha will sense you, come save you and later you can complain about how he only sees you as a responsibility - or what was it you said before? “An albatross around his neck”. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
