This was so disappointing. Only a handful of recipes look good. There were a LOT of alcoholic drink recipes. And very minimal “Disney” recipes—like the ones that are the real memories. The only truly traditional recipes are Monte Cristo, dole whip, grey stuff, and pog juice.
Based on the title, I was under the impression that there would be more of the common traditional food seen at the parks.
I gave this book 3 stars because I was expecting more recipes from actual restaurants in Disneyland and Disney World. The bulk of recipes are for alcoholic drinks or from the special wine festival held at Disney. Most recipes are not ones that I would try to create in my home kitchen, but rather ones that I would enjoy eating if I were to go to a fancy restaurant. I would've liked to see recipes that are more family friendly and easy to make.
My family and I absolutely enjoyed this cookbook. We have poured through it and bookmarked all the recipes we would like to try. They are very different from what we expected but that’s ok. The recipes include drinks, as well as appetizers, soups, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts. The ones we have tried so far have been fantastic! Some reviewers were hoping for more food and more recognizable menu options. These book does include the resorts and fancy restaurants at different parks. I think it’s supposed to be different and updated. Not just the same old fare. I was inspired by it.

Overall, so many recipes seemed good! There were some I didn’t save because of flavor preference, and others I didn’t save because I already have solid recipes for them as basics (like there was a basic mojito recipe on one page but I already have one that I am happy with), but the ones I did save I cannot wait to try!
Disappointed by this. Wish it had a TOC so I could see just how many recipes were meat-centric (yes, I know I could use substitutes but if the point is to emulate park offerings, this takes away from it). Many of the desserts call for gelatin, so even those aren’t vegetarian-friendly Also not recommended for households that can’t handle spice. Recipes were creative, but the formatting was awkward, had typos, and honestly, with the amount of recipes that are from festivals and haven’t been offered on menus for years, I wouldn’t really consider this a Disney Parks cookbook, more a recipe graveyard. Stick with Ashley Craft’s Unofficial books for more variety.
I realize how large the Disney organization is, and there are recipes for the home cook here compiled from all over the Disney conglomeration. So, chances are, you have never heard of the dishes in here.
Sadly, not pictures of each recipe, and sadly the pictures that accompany many of the recipes shows a different version of the dish than the one given in the recipe.
I've learned with most official disney cookbooks that the recipes tend to not be for the average person in the average kitchen (as far as ingredients are concerned). But, as a disney fan, I find many of the recipes fun and exciting. I've loved every single one I've tried.
Love everything Disney? Want to eat foods like what they offer in the parks? Pam has worked with Disney chefs for 25 years to bring the best recipes and food to their parks. Now out of the vault, they are sharing some of their best recipes. Included are helpful hints for preparation, photos, and tried-and-true recipes that will appeal to the whole family.
The layout is well-done. The recipes are easy to follow and delicious. The helpful hints are a must and make this recipe book accessible for most cooks. Fans of Disney, park food, and cooking will want to pick this one up.

Has a fun balance between main dishes, complex and simple. The chapters are divided by parks. It is directed more to adults due to the number of drinks but they all look yummy. One of the simple ones is presented in a fun way: artistic pop tarts, they look like modern paintings. I'm looking forward to trying the short ribs one. I got this cookbook for Christmas and I admit, I'm a little disappointed; maybe a quarter of the recipes are alcoholic beverages, which is a bummer. I feel like they should've taken those out and made them into their own cookbook.
The rest of the recipes were okay, but I was disappointed that some were just inspired by the Disney Parks version and not the actual thing (e.g. the Dole Whip recipe).
Another excellent entry in the Disney cookbook series, this time with dishes and drinks from all over the various properties.
Pam Brandon has curated a "best of the best" for everything from starters to desserts, allowing people to create their park, hotel, or cruise favorites at home.
I look forward to making several of our beloved meals at home. Highly recommended.
Decent book with a few recipes that I’m thinking about trying. LOTS of drink recipes, so if you are giving as a gift, take note. Some recipes have not common ingredients, but does suggest a few substitutes. Not full points due to set up of the cookbook. It went by places, but I would have preferred by items.
A fun cookbook! I think I expected a bit more classic Disney recipes from the parks but there are a ton from resorts and festivals. Also more appetizers, snacks, drinks, dessert, etc. compared to main dishes. Still happy to have it in my collection so I can make a few of my favorite things, and try a few more!
There are some really great recipes in here! I'm excited to try the few that I did select. It's cool, I think, that so many of the meals and treats available at the Disney Parks have become famous in their own right!
Fancy! Pretty to look at, not much that I would actually make. Not as much history of the restaurants as in the Delicious Disney: Walt Disney World cookbook by the same author. I look forward to seeing what the Delicious Disney: Disneyland cookbook releasing in November will be like.
Another amazing collection of Disney recipes! My one issue with it is that it has some repeats from the 50th anniversary cookbook, but it is still worth the purchase!
Side Note: My “specialty” is the Cobb Salad in this book! I got the recipe from The Brown Derby a decade ago and people love it!
Finally marking this one off my Goodreads list—and wow, what a fun ride! I’ve read through this cookbook a couple of times and managed to cook about 70% of the recipes. Honestly, it felt like bringing a little piece of Disney magic into my own kitchen.
I received this book free through the Goodreads giveaway. Loved some of the recipes in this book was very excited to win this one. Thank you for the opportunity.
A perfect cookbook & the recipes are easy to understand, the only problems are the dosage and the temperature that are not the same as in Europe (cup and °F).
Recipes are mostly from scratch and yet appear manageable for the home kitchen, even simple for the more experienced home chef. Enjoy bringing your fav Disney culinary experiences home.
A lot of these recipes are fairly common, but I mainly borrowed this recipe book because it reminds me of the good old Disney World Millennium celebration days in 2000. Brings back awesome memories!
