I’ve been reading this book since November of 2022 this is because Hunter “Daddy” and Blue gave me a headache.

I took such a long time because this story had a lot of unresolved issues amongst the MCs. Neither character has dealt with the trauma of losing such a pivotal character in both Blue and her Daddy’s life.

What starts as a one time thing begins to turn into a crazy awakening in both characters you’re not expecting and that you sometimes want it to end. You feel kind of dirty while you’re reading it because the ghost of Blue’s bestie still lives in the walls of the beach house she shared with Daddy and we can’t seem to shake it as much as the characters can’t.

I found I spent most of this book pissed off. Which I’m pretty sure isn’t okay. But the writing seemed to keep me hooked. Hunter and Blue leave things on a cliff hanger and I hope some of their questions finally get answered in the next installment of this series. It is supposed to grace us this spring and maybe it will answer some of our burning questions.

Prequel and not full story

*Possible spoilers* This book brings us the story of Hunter and Blue. It's an age gap, daughter's best friend story. Hunter's daughter is deceased and Hunter appears to be a functioning alcoholic though It's not fully addressed. I enjoyed the read but it is pretty short and really unfinished. I was first met with confusion when Blue's stepfather started to show some interest in her, but then that wasn't ever addressed again. Hunter and Blue are both struggling through grief and Hunter is not coping in a healthy way, which again I felt wasn't flushed out. The book felt a little all over the place and disjointed as I was reading it. I also felt I didn't understand who the characters were. There wasn't much development.

Getting to the end and seeing the HFN ending surprised me, because it's not mentioned that the book is a prequel anywhere in the description which is misleading. The other books in the series were complete so I think a warning would have been nice for those who like to wait for books to be complete before starting.

We have to wait for 2023 to get the conclusion of Hunter and Blue's story. Hopefully the loose ends left in this prequel will be complete in the future installment. I enjoyed the previous books so fingers crossed, we get no more surprises in the ones to follow.

I'm still continuing with my goal of reading books outside of my comfort zone.

Here's a genre that's never been on my radar, until now ...

Genre: Daddy Kink / Age Gap / Daughter's Best friend / Virgin / Orphan

This is a daddy kink story that didn't quite work for me because there is no prelude leading up to their first sexual encounter. No pining by the heroine for the hero or vice versa. No accidental touches, no awareness of him as a man. No coming on to him, making it clear she sees him. On the night after her eighteenth birthday, he invades her privacy and gives her assistance she didn't ask for and then and only then does she become aware of him in that way.

Months later, the heroine comes to visit and the hero begins to subtly groom his daughter's best friend by testing and pushing her boundaries. Every sexual encounter is initiated by him and she goes along with them believing this is what she wants too. Daddy shows and tells her what she wants vs her discovering her own wants, needs and desires.

I think the story would work better if it were told from the heroine’s perspective and she initiated, created and manipulated certain situations to create close call while in close proximity to the hero. For example, leaving the bathroom door open, dropping her towel, reaching for something on high shelf etc. Actions that would make him aware that she had taken a sexual interest in him.

This is HFN novella with a longer book to drop in 2023. She had a moment with her stepfather, so don't be surprised if the story goes there too. Your opinion may differ. Read It!

Sadly this was a prequel that I didn’t realise till I was done.
Blue lost her best friend and Hunter lost his daughter, Blue made sure to always visit California during the summer even after the loss of her friend, which resulted in her having a moment with Hunter that none of them seemed to be able to get over.
Will Blue be able to escape her adopted father and move in with Hunter ? I guess we need to read the full length book that I couldn’t find anywhere 😅.

Blue (h21) and Hunter/Daddy (H39) have been trying to process the death of Ashley - Blue's best friend and Hunter's daughter. They find themselves drawn to one another but are struggling to reconcile their new, budding relationship. The story is essentially a prequel to a later book to be published in 2023 - some obvious things to be addressed are the stepfather and Blue and Hunter full consummating their relationship. After reading this, I just didn’t feel like it belonged within the same series as Books 1 and 2, which are much lighter, instalove complete Daddy stories - this one is a slow moving HFN romance. I generally don't read prequels unless the rest of the story is available for reading and felt kind of cheated out of getting the whole story. This should have just been a side series as it really doesn’t fit the first two stories.

God this was terrible.
First of all I accidentally read this one first I don’t know if the order means anything I hope not.
I don’t know I’m which universe this counts as daddy kink but definitely not in mine. Just calling yourself daddy during sex and telling her 3 times she is a good girl, didn’t do it’s magic. Maybe my expectations were too high but I thought it would be more daddy play after I read the titel.🤷🏼‍♀️
The storyline of Ashley was so prominent that nothing else happened. We didn’t got a cute romance, we didn’t get kinky smut, it was just all about Ashley. It made me really uncomfortable to read when both parties are so emotionally about her death (understandably) and then foul around while constantly thinking about her.
If felt like they had a threesome with the memory of the dead girl.
I really hated it. 🥴
Also Hunter(?I already forgot his name) said on one hand that he didn’t wanted anything from her until she was 18 but at the same time thinks back to her being a quirky teenager when she currently giving him a bj🫠. No No No No 🚨.

And what was that with Aston? He magically showed signs that he likes her but we never heard of him again? What was that lol?
And the plot with the hooker standing in his doorway was so obviously going to happened that I just had to roll my eyes🙄.
Reading this felt like reading one of these bad Wattpad story’s.

Blue lost her mom a long time ago and was raised by her stepdad who she doesn’t like very much. Her best friend, Ashley and her dad, Hunter, were the people she clung to after her mom’s death. They were home to her. Years later, Blue and Hunter bonded over their mutual grief at the loss of Ashley. At first I wasn’t sure if Hunter was a good choice for Blue. He was described by the author as a borderline functioning alcoholic. He felt guilty about wanting Blue because he watched her grow up along with his daughter. Blue had the same ambivalence. Once they gave into their attraction, they knew they were meant to be together. They had a happy for now ending. Looks like this story will continue in a future full blown novel.

This is a pretty good series. I do recommend it.

In this novella we meet Hunter Blue's best friend's father who is although is going through some things realizes that he needs to be Blue's daddy as he loves her. Blue's character in this book I loved as she in the end did her best to be of support to Hunter while grieving herself. She realized what she needed and from who she needed it even if she had her hesitations considering the situation. I loved how they were as a couple and cannot wait to read their full story as this ended in HFN situation. If you're looking for a quick read with spice then this it.

This one checks so many boxes of my favorite tropes… age gap, forbidden, spicy as f*, and has all the daddy vibes!
Hunter and Blue were hot together, and totally taboo and forbidden. He was her late best friends dad, and watched her grow up. But she wasn’t a little girl anymore and after one night of not being able to hold back his attraction to her tragedy struck. It’s been two years and he’s tired of tip toeing around his feelings and barely living. He wants Blue as much as she wants him. When he tells her he needs her and needs to talk face to face, he knows it’s time to start living again and he wants Blue.
I’m really hoping we get a conclusion to their HFN ending!

Kinda creepy but addictive

Another short, spicy Novella
This is Blue & Hunters HFN until a full length set in early 2023.
We find ourselves watching Blue & Hunter finally give into their desires, looking past the age-gap & the history to start to feel again after their loss.
Blue is being pulled between where she grew up with her step-dad Aston after her mum passed & where her heart belongs with her best friend Ashley.

That cliff hanger though, you just know that Aston heard her but what will happen next.

This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. This is a book any book lover would enjoy.

Age-Gap, Daddy, Best friend’s Dad

Wow…this is definitely a hot and extra taboo story. Blue & Hunter shouldn’t want each other but they were each others rock through very hard times and their connection to each other is undeniable.

Blue wants Hunter just as much as he wants her but the timing has never been right and now that it’s been 2 years since they lost Ashley the time for them to embrace their feelings seems to be here! Natalie teases us that there is going to more to their story and I can’t wait to read more! Happy Reading!!

This a pretty good book. I enjoyed Blue and Hunter and their taboo connection and chemistry. These two have a long history together but once Blue turns 18 feelings change and these to have to deal with a lot of things and luckily these two have each other. I am interested in see what happens next after that HFN ending.
