I loved this series. I loved how the author referenced each character from the first book all the way through the third volume. It was nice to see how their lives changed with each story.
3 1/2 stars The final set of books in the Midnight Sons Series.
Falling For Him After the build up from the first book, Christian and Mariah finally get their story told. A cute story and a good ending for the two of them. Lots of continuation of the Hard Luck story in this one, too...Sawyer and Abby are a constant in this one. Matt and Karen have scenes, too. It is fun to "visit" with the characters from former books.
Ending in Marriage Another story begun long ago...Duke and Tracy's story. This books picks up right where Falling For Him ends. Duke and Tracy have been fighting since the moment they met. Of course, it wasn't because they didn't like each other. I was really looking forward to this story. I liked Duke and the idea of them arguing all the time. It was a good set-up. The story was a slight bit disappointing. There was a lot of focus on Ben and the Hard Luck Cafe that detracted from Duke and Tracy. It seems that Ben's story was added for "filler" to make the book longer, but it didn't really make a good enough story--it was ended abruptly and I didn't care for that.
This is a book for a rainy day where you want to relax with an easy romance. While there was never any doubt about the outcome of the two books in this volume, I loved them anyway. The stories are of the two most difficult bachelors in Hard Luck, Alaska with a third thrown in for good measure. After reading about the painfully obvious attraction between Christian and Mariah through the other 4 stories, (where her reaction was unbelievable clumsiness and ineptitude whenever Christian was around, and his annoyance was clearly an excuse to mask how he felt) it was great to finally see them come together. I also liked the story of Tracy and Duke. Both characters softened in a nice way. Neither became weak. They just rounded each other out.
This is the third book in the series. All of the stories were fun, quick little reads. I enjoyed the Alaska background, as well as the references to the Pacific Northwest. The stories had a lot of similarities, but were still entertaining romances. There are days when only a happy ending will do.
This novel has 3 stories. The first one is about Christian and Mariah. She has constantly irritated Christian and he says she is a terrible secretary. He wants her gone, but he can't stop thinking about her. The second story, my favorite, is about the opinionated, male chauvinist pilot named Duke and a very successful Seattle attorney named Tracey. At first I wanted to strangle Duke the way he treated her, but a disasterous plane crash changed his thinking. They still have a lot of differences, though. The third story deals with Scott and Chrissie who are now adults. They have been in love most of their lives, but Scott has broken her heart twice and she isn't sure she can ever trust him again.
Midnight Sons and Daughters: Novella of two of the younger characters from Hard Luck, Alaska. Just a smattering teasing little bit of their struggles and loves. It would have been nice to have completed the story in full, but I guess it was time to close it. This was a delightful series all total. 12/24/22 - 12/25/22
Loved this book... but was anticipating more with Duke & Tracy's engagement, just mentioning their Seattle wedding & ending with the planning. Couldn't put the book down... once I started reading it - had trouble putting it down.
Last story in Hard Luck Alaska. I loved it! I still love Debbie Macomber's writing style, and her characters. Just a couple sweet stories in this one. Showing people can overcome issues and find true love. Great book!
