Dear Step-Santa,
The last thing I wanted for Christmas was a shockingly gorgeous new stepbrother. And I certainly didn’t want to play elf to your Santa at my mother’s charity event or sneak off to kiss you under the mistletoe. Ok, maybe I wanted that at the time, but it can’t happen again. It’s too naughty.

You know I probably would’ve liked this a lot more if I hadn’t read almost the same story a few days ago. And The Naughty List by Sara Cate was way better.
This felt very superficial. Yeah I get that it’s just a fun little holiday read but it read like very little thought and effort went into it.
I did think Winter making up elf names was cute and I liked the epilogue. But that’s pretty much all I came away with.

3.5 super quick, insta-love, step-sibling romance
I’ll keep this short, just like the book.
Winter (26) is on the way to her mom’s since she’s getting married again. On her way there, she avoids hitting a deer and her car kind of breaks down. Enter her hero- Kane (30). He helps her out and she gets a crush on him. When they part ways, she can’t stop thinking about him, and neither can he. They get officially introduced as step-siblings and they’re shocked.
Don’t worry. It doesn’t stop them from succumbing to their carnal desires 🔥🥵. For such a short book, it is pretty STEAMY! Is there a plot! Sure… did I read it for the plot? Nope 😂😈😈👀. It’s there but it takes a step back to showcase the connection between Winter and Kane. Kane, who’s a SEXY Santa- knows how to please his elf Winter😉💦.
This is a nice palette cleanser; plus, it puts you in the holiday spirit. Annnnnnd, we get a cute HEA epilogue 🥰. This might be insta-love, but they have a promising future.

Very superficial. I did had fun and the writing was very easy to read, but I didn't care at all about the little plot there was and the characters weren't flashed out at all as the book was less than 100 pages.

It’s been awhile since I last read a book from Logan, but once I saw the blurb from this book I had to grab: forbidden step-brother during Christmas? Yummy, this was an instant yes for me! This short story brought everything I wanted and needed. I wish it was longer because I wanted to much more from Kane and Winter!

Okay, this one was a little disappointing for me (honestly, this series so far has been really up and down).
They harp on the fact that they can't be together because they're stepsiblings when 1) They met before they knew and 2) they are 26 and 30! They just met! They aren't related by blood and just met. The constant hemming and hawing about it was kinda annoying.
The high points were the spanking and the hint of Dom (yeah there could have been more) in the steamy scenes.

My god this was annoying. I don’t want to give it a one star because I hate giving indie authors a one star but this was not good. I’m genuinely surprised that there’s so many five stars. Winter is on her way to talk to her mother about her spontaneous marriage. She feels like her mother is acting irresponsibly. On her way, she almost hits a deer, causing her car to stall. A passerby, Kane, stops to help her and after she is on her way she wishes she had gotten his number.

This story is a steamy insta-love, forbidden romance that will have you begging for more time and time again. If you’re looking for a quick read that you can enjoy when you have a little down time then you need to pick this goodie up. Winter and Kane are a couple that will stay with you for quite some time. It’s focused round the holidays but I can see this being enjoyed year round.

December 12, 2024If I could give a negative star rating on a book this would be the one. I did it to myself honestly because I had high expectations for this book being a step sibling romance. The book starts out with a 26 year old unemployed strawberry blonde peppermint scented girl named Winter. She lost her job cussing at her boss (and saying her hair color was natural) and has decided to give random elf names to everything instead of swearing. She gets her car stuck in the road that she’s been on a million times and forgot to pack her charger. A man stops and his name is Kane. Lo and behold he gets her car fixed up and she goes on her merry way. She ends up discovering that oh no that’s her new step brother. Her family owns a resort and they put on a show with Santa and and elf and she is writing a story for each kid. Oh her dream is to be an illustrator and oh my wouldn’t you know it, Kane works for a publishing company! Imagine that? Kane kisses her while he’s in a closet on santa break. Oh and he sniffs her hair and can’t get enough of her strawberry blonde hair. They are almost discovered by her mom. She is over the moon about her newest husband. They go to a party and Kane takes Winter back to their shared cabin (because they had to share a room since there were no other vacancies). They have sex after her devours her “promised land” and suddenly he proclaims he’s in love with her. Did I mention the strawberry blonde hair? She runs from the room to her mom who’s alone in her room. Her mom confesses she isn’t really in love with Kane’s father. The next day the parents tell them they are getting divorced and Kane and Winter admit they love one another. Oh and don’t forget she’s a natural strawberry blonde people!
Now listen I am all for a step family romance ok. But Logan, please do not refer to a women’s genitalia as the promised land. Also, don’t be a creep with the color of hair. As a red head it’s weird. And use a thesaurus or something. Anything is better than promised land. And the weird spanking banter was cringey.

Luckily for them, they meet again, soon. Unluckily for them, they meet because Winter's mom is marrying Kane's dad. There is some sneaking around before they make a decision about what to do. After all, love is love, right?
Commentary: What a shock it would be to walk into a meeting with your mom's new spouse and his family and find out that the hot guy you were lusting after is now your stepbrother! I do like this trope - it's not illegal, but has the edge of taboo. It all got sorted out in the end, though, so the family relationships won't be too big of a problem. This was a perfect short, smutty read for the holidays.

I absolutely loved this novella. The pacing of this one was perfection! It doesn’t just jump into them screwing it’s actually had a storyline there and I loved the angst that this short novella provided. Kane is the type of guy who doesn’t do long term. He dates and then once it fizzles out he moves on. Winter just lost her job and she’s going home because her mom announced that she got married. It’s such a good read with some steam but honestly the storyline is what won me over and the way the author had everything okay out. So so good!!!

This was the most roller coaster book I have ever read! She likes him, then 2 paragraphs later they’re having sex. Then her mother is encouraging it. I had so many emotions in such a short amount of time. If it was longer I may have enjoyed it more as it would have been spread out. I am so concerned.

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
Winter can’t believe her mother got married to a man she’s only known a few weeks, what was she thinking? And now she’s told she has a grown stepbrother. Kane can’t believe his dad married a lady he has only dated a few weeks, and now he finds out he has a new stepsister.
On his way to meet his dad he sees a car on the side of the road and stops to help. He’s stunned by the beauty that steps out of the car. They exchange names and he gets her car started and they part ways. Each regretting not exchanging numbers. The book jumps forward so there is no build up of their relationship, they go from interest, to sex, to love. The love was not believable. I liked both Winter and Kane, they just needed more interaction and emotions.
Winter can’t believe her mother got married to a man she’s only known a few weeks, what was she thinking? And now she’s told she has a grown stepbrother. Kane can’t believe his dad married a lady he has only dated a few weeks, and now he finds out he has a new stepsister.
On his way to meet his dad he sees a car on the side of the road and stops to help. He’s stunned by the beauty that steps out of the car. They exchange names and he gets her car started and they part ways. Each regretting not exchanging numbers. Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read.
Kane and Winter meet when she breaks down on the side of the road and he comes and helps her. Kane and Winter find out their parents got married after knowing each other only three weeks. Kane is waiting to meet his new step sister and in walk Winter. He goes to get her number when he realizes she is his new step sister. They have dinner and talk about Kane playing Santa and Winter being his elf when they get to the Mountain Goat Resort. Their parents informed them that they will ride together to the resort. Kane and Winter talk about being attracted to one another on the ride. Winter tells Kane they can’t do anything about it because they’re related. When they arrive there was a mix up in the room so they have to share a room. After they settle in they head to play Santa and his elf. Winter tells the kids Santa needs a break and they head to a room hidden in the back. She tells him she looks like a clown in her outfit and he tells her she doesn’t. He leans into her and capture her mouth. They deepen the kiss no longer worry about family dynamic. When they pull apart Kane tells her that feel so right while she tells him that was bad. There’s a knock on the door and Winter’s mother is calling them. Winter answers the door and Kane leave them. Her mother asks her if anything is happening between them and Winter tells her no. She tells Winter she came to let her know Aspen is here and they can go shopping for a new dress. After work Winter and Aspen head to the resort’s boutique looking for dresses. They talk about Kane and then grab gingerbread lattes. It takes them longer than expected so they change at the salon and head to the ball. Winter sees Kane right away and when he sees her they can’t stop staring at each other. He comes to greet her and tells her she looks amazing. She introduces her friend Aspen and she goes off to see her father. Kane’s father finds them and corral them all together to be introduced. Kane asks her if she wants to get out of there and she says yes. As soon as they’re back in their room he spins her around and presses her to the door, kissing her. He tells her tonight she is his and wants to know if she understand. She tell him yes and his hand trails up her thigh, spreading her legs apart. He tell her he’s going to take what he wants tonight, that he’s in charge. She tells him ok and then he slaps her ass, she moans, and he tells her she turns him on. Winter’s mother tells them that some relationships come into your life to set you up onto a new path. Their parents walk out of the room and then she tells him she loves him too. Forty-one weeks later, Winter is pregnant. They are moving into their new home, they bought together. Kane is killing it in the publishing field. People love Winter’s children books.
