Navy #1-3

Navy Brides: Navy Wife / Navy Blues / Navy Brat

Rate this book
Navy Wife
Impulsive, wounded, vulnerable, Lindy Kyle was unprepared for a roommate like Rush Callaghan. Strong, sensitive and sexy, the temporarily dry-docked naval officer was everything she'd ever dreamed of in a man…in a husband.

But Rush placed duty to his country above all else. Though he and Lindy were swept away on a tide of passion, he was called back to sea. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder—but will their marriage survive their partings?

Navy Blues
Despite her ex-husband's bullheadedness, Carol Kyle knew he'd be the perfect man to father the child she so desperately wanted. Yet she also realized that the strong, honorable man would never allow his child to be raised without a father. So Carol needed to plot, to plan, to maneuver, to seduce Steve into her bed for one last time . . . and then leave once more. Still, the passion when they were together was never the problem -- it was the absences that tore them apart. Had they grown enough to chance trying again -- especially when Carol's plan seemed about to work?

Navy Brat
Erin MacNamera had one hard-and-fast rule: never, never, never fall for a navy man. From birth through college, Erin had lived and breathed the navy as her father's career moved her family countless times. Now all Erin wants is to put down roots and live a normal life. But then she meets navy man Brand Davis... and falls in love.

Technically the audiobook I listened to said it was books 1-3, but it was actually only books one and two. They are a bit contrived. The first one in the series had them moving fast and the second one had really really stupid misunderstandings. So many misunderstandings yet they’re madly in love?? 🤨 Yet I’m reading the next in the series......

This is two for one story lines. They are connected by siblings...She has gone to her brothers apartment to get away from her cheating fiance. What happens when her brothers roommate and she tend to have sparks? And it all happens in a matter of weeks. The next story is about the brother and his ex wife. The what happened in their marriage is revealed. Can they over come the trust that tore them apart? Or will it take a major miracle? These stories were written many years ago and the enjoyment is love conquers all. The use of payphones will throw those who never saw them. LOL

Debbie Macomber never disappoints when I am in the mood to read and vicariously live through some heartfelt romance. This was a good quick read and it’s even part one of a series. If is a good romp, entirely predictable (does not spoil anything) and fun.

Great story overall but a bit confusing at times. The story was wonderful. But at certain points it goes back in time within warning. Give it a chance. After the first quarter it straightens out. A great read!! I was sad when it was over like most of her books.

There was supposed to be two different stories in this book but it ended up being the same story twice. I only read it once I wasn't going to read it a second time. This book was okay I excepted more from Debbie Macomber because I've read her books before.

I really like Debbie Macomber but these two stories were so predictable and had very annoying characters.

These are the most unlikeable characters. I typically read these books for a lighthearted distraction, but find myself annoyed by the lack of reality. Are people really like this?

These stories, needless to say, are pretty much the adult, passionate versions of Disney films. Girl meets boy, they are physically attracted to each other from the start, and within a short period of time (at least, what it appears to be), and then they live happily ever after.

Pros: Macomber does a fantastic job of leaving cliffhangers. I could not stop reading if my life depended on it! The real world ceased to exist once I wore the shoes of the main characters. The characters are loveable (although frustrating at times), and you become SUPER happy once they end up together and "live happily ever after". I loved "Navy Wife" the best and "Navy Brat" the worst, but they were all amazing stories. It makes you want to go out and find your "special someone", and be as happy as Macomber portrays them to be once her characters are together.

Cons: The amount of time these "romances" develop seems highly unrealistic. In the first story, the main characters get married within 2-3 weeks of first meeting each other. In the second story, the characters seem to magically repair their relationship (since they got divorced, but re-married at the end of the story). The third story seemed more realistic, but they still got married in less than 9 months of knowing each other. I'm not saying that you can't have a happy marriage within only a short amount of time of knowing each other, but in today's society, it just doesn't seem very logical for me.

Also, this book is for the mature, adult reader. I definitely wouldn't recommend this book to my fellow teenage peers, since most likely they would focus on the many pages of written passion rather than focus on the cute plot of the stories.

Judgement: If you love to read romances, and you don't mind reading passionate scenes, then by all means, read this book. I personally loved it, and I'm glad that I chose to read it out of all of the other books on my "to-read" shelf. Definitely an excellent romance, so 4/5 stars!

Three sweet little romance stories in one book. "Navy wife" I would rate a 4 star and "navy blues" and "navy brat" I would give 3 stars. All great reads at the end of a long day to relax to.

Quick read, predictable plots, 3 novels in one book allowed for some mindless reading.
