December 12, 2022i don’t usually read novella’s in series bc i think they’re useless and this one proved my point. it was nothing special, i only read this bc it was free and i wanted to get to know the characters but like… this was very boring and a waste of my time

Nana Malone has got me hooked to this new series instantly with this novella. The Heir shows just how sexy and addictive this series will be. I cannot wait till more Lachlan and Saffron land in my kindle.
Seriously, what's not to love about this story? A badass heroine under training to become a field agent for a super secret and exclusive organisation. A billionaire playboy trying to fly under the radar. And their nuclear hot one night adventure leaving us with promises for more. In true Nana Malone style, this story makes me crave more and more and more of this dangerous steamy goodness. Lachlan is a perfect alpha bad boy who oozes sex appeal and has a witty charming personality. Saffron makes me want to be her best friend and ask her to teach me some of her sassy moves. They are just explosive together and this is just the beginning!

Thoughts
This book was an introduction to the series which is centered around Lachlan and Saffron. I liked that it was in first person POV because it makes it easier to relate to the characters. The plot was medium paced and it was a teaser for more to come.
However, this book wasn't enough to interest me in wanting to read more because there wasn't enough content in this book for me to make a connection with.

a hard hitting start
I came in knowing this was a prequel but I didn’t know it would enjoy it so much. What a great foundation to what I’m sure will be an awesome series! Saffron is a very serious and well trained operative but clearly she is in need of some fun and relaxation. Best friend Tabatha knows just where the action is and boy does Saffron get action. Saffron meets nice guy Lachlan at the bar but decides she doesn’t have room in her life for him. Will Lachlan be able to win her over?
Good writing, well done sex scenes and lots of intrigue. I’ll be checking out the next book.

I enjoyed this book and thought it was a great novella to introduce the series. I simply adore Saffron and Lachlan. They had an immediate connection from the beginning. They were so effortless in how they bonded and just fit so well together. Their chemistry was off the charts and Lachlan is a VERY attentive man 👀🥵
From the jump, I was hooked on Saffron. She's a fun, complex, witty heroine that made me laugh quite a few times. I like how layered she is as a character and I just wanted to know more about her. She's a total badass that can hold her own against men who can't take no as an answer.
Lachlan is such a sweetheart and I love how obsessed he was with Saffron from the beginning. He respects her boundaries (as he should) and let's her know that whatever happens is 100% her choice. He made sure to not take her power away and only touched her when she asked. We love a consent king. I found him to be charming, funny, and so delicious.
The cliffhanger made me immediately add the next book to my TBR. The blurb has me so intrigued and I cannot wait to get more of Saffron and Lachlan!

When Saffron's bestie, Tabatha, convinces her to go out to a club to celebrate Saffron's birthday, it sets into motion events that will irrevocably change her life. The singular thing, though, is that she meets a gorgeous guy, Lachlan, and she spends on amazing night with him. But she knows her life (her overprotective brother) won't allow her to have him, so she thinks she'll never see him again. And really, the reader is left with a cliffhanger that isn't exactly positive and has me all upset and impatiently awaiting The King, the second part of Saf and Lach's story.
I am very intrigued by this tiny snippet of Saffron and Lachlan's story. She's awesome - a badass heroine who is apparently in training for...something? Not sure what, because we don't get any resolution or many details, but just enough for me to know she can more than take care of herself. Lachlan so far is definitely an alpha, but one who obviously isn't a jerk, and is hiding from the way his life is supposed to be. I can't wait for more so I can get a better picture of this hot couple.

This is my first time read this author and I really enjoyed reading this novella. I have never started a series with a novella before but I enjoyed reading how the main characters meet. I definitely need to know more of this couple after that cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the story to continue.

So this book is a prequel to the series. It will follow the story of Saffron & Lachlan.
This type of books are meant to entice the reader to read the next book, however it was not the case for me. It was so short that I couldn’t grasp anything to interest me to keep going. I also didn’t like the characters, they annoyed me.
The whole suspense around Saffron felt too forced, and the reasoning behind her life being so dangerous is not mentioned.
I think this novella was just for the sake of writing it, the story could’ve started in book 1.

This is a short novella - in connection to The King (book 1 in the Gentlemen Rogues). So please do not complain about its' length. It's just an intro to the characters.
And I. LOVED. IT! Like could not get enough.
The heroine be a strong, albeit a little insecure about her looks (people usually are), locked tight under her brother's protection (ALSO I DESPERATELY NEED GABE's AND TABITHA'S STORY RIGHT NOW PLEASE!), due to an incident in their family.
The hero...well playboy, charming, also very very reckless (Idk why I fall for those), is basically under sort of publicity house arrest..due to recent shenanigans.
And well one night they both find each other in clubs...due to respective mates(friends). And well you know the rest is history...with explosive chemistry, sweet talk, and I guess a connection hehe.
This novella is so worth it though - love the characters (the development would probably be seen in the next book, the King), the chemistry, the deep talking hehe, their background history (might be explored more later), and their friends!!!! So yeah love this so much, can't wait for the next one!
But as usual...Nana likes making me age 10 years more with her cliffhangers...so yeah shock plot twist cliffhanger..and now I've to wait for the next book - The King - coming this JULY 19th 2022.
Still worth the wait though haha, as always.

I loved this introduction to the new books, Nana’s stories always captivate me and this novella was really good, we have the drama, the suspense, the cliffhangers and steamy scenes only Nana can write and I’m so ready to see how their story continues.
The characters were amazing, Saffron was a badass and a strong heroine and Lachlan was the charming and cocky hero and I loved their chemistry and the tension between them. Their interactions started out great and after that cliffhanger I can’t wait to read more of their story.

I am a arc reader. Ok she did it again. Saffron and her friend tab want out to Is celebrate her birthday. Staffron was afraid that her brother was not goin to let her go Celebrate. They went to this club and everyone look at them when they walk I to the club. Staffron and tab start dancing and mate was trying to hit on her and she turned him down. Saffron look up and look in lachlan 's eye and she felt like he was look in her soul. The Chemistry was off the charts. Staffron want out side to get some air and ran into the mate that she didn't like and he attacked her and lachlan's came to her Rescue. Staffron was Upset about what had happened to her. Lachlan's told he was going to hurt and told he to txt her friend tab. Than he took her to his place and was not trying to take her bed. He want her to fill safe and on thing Lead to another and the sex was off the chart. Staffron let's and lachlan's woke up to a cold bed and wonder if she was ghost or was he was he have a dream. Than all hell broke lose. Who are those man I my home and was I going To survive and than want black. I can wait see if they meet again or they will never meet again. Will her brother find out about the one night stand and what will he do 🤗🤗🤷🏽♀️

Lachlan and Saffron were adorable. I need more like now. Lachlan is self-assured and charming. Saffron is fully capable of kicking butt on her own. But then she meets Lachlan at a club and suddenly she’s a stuttering mess who can’t seem to stop being distracted by how attractive he is. They spend one night together and it was *chef’s kiss* perfect. That cliffhanger though!! Nana, how could you do us like that??

Nana Malone strikes again! We get a glimpse into Ms. Malone’s latest series as the players or should I say main players are introduced. Saffron and Tabatha, besties out for a celebration of Saf’s birthday makes a plan for a little D&D (drinks and debauchery), but Saf isn’t the clubbing type. Always under the watchful eye of her brother Gabe, she has to tread very carefully about her extracurricular activities. After declining the advances of a drunken tool who didn’t understand that No. was and is a complete sentence she locks eyes with the handsome Lachlan King and Saffron’s night goes from meh to HELLS YEAH! It gets very physical and very fun. I’m so excited to see what is going to happen, but if you know Ms. Malone like I think I do, there’s going to be secrets, romance, suspense, loads of smexy fun, but gird your loins because she writes where you’re left wanting more, and craving the next book like a fiend. It is a new introduction to a brand-new series. You can already count me in when I heard Action and Romance. Saffron is a soon-to-be field agent for the Rogue Division who is also under the closer supervision of her adoptive brother Gabe. She goes out to celebrate her 22nd birthday with her bestie Tabitha “Tabs”. This is when she sees Lachlan King of King Media Family. As the night progresses the pair gets to know each other better. I won’t spoil the story, but I will say I couldn’t put it down. The last thing I will say “Holy Cliffhanger!!!” I already have a few potential theories. I am patiently waiting for the story to continue.

This book provides a both a tempting taste and a tantalizing tease that left me addicted and craving more. The steamy chemistry and sultry simmering heat are perfectly balanced with raw sweetness and genuine heart as Saffron and Lachlan's story starts to unfold. I found these characters extremely likable, and I enjoyed beginning to get to know them. They each tugged at my heartstrings and the attraction between them was electric. As usual, the writing is sinfully smooth and beautifully done. The smart combination of drama, humor, action, emotion and twists lures you right into its web and has you completely satisfied to linger there. This book does end on a cliffy and I for one am very, very anxious to see what happens next.

Oh. My. God!! Nana is starting this new series off right! Lachlan King is the thing book boyfriend dreams are made of and I love him! He’s officially in my harem of book boyfriends. Saffron is of course the strong and amazing heroin Nana can always deliver. Seriously there’s this one scene in an alley where Saffron shows us what she’s made of that is so good. Let’s not forget about the steam! The steam is always delivered perfectly. I know I say it every time, but I live for Nana’s words!

In this novella we get a glimpse of what we are gonna experience but there are many unanswered questions which intrigued me and made me desperate to know what happens next. Cannot wait for The King.

Omg, what the?!
I needed there to be hundreds of more pages.
Talk about an EPIC and tantalizing way to start a new series, one that's already shaping up to be this author's best yet.
With previous ones I loved it took me a bit to fully warm up, but this, this was wow...
Can't even talk or think straight in my frustration ( in a good way) that I ran out of pages too fast.
Was already eagerly awaiting the next book when I was a chapter into this one.

Gah!! Nana Malone gets me every time! I know she’s gonna tease me and leave me on that cliff but it’s always been worth it! We are getting another heroine that is a firebrand while we also get a little sneak peek inside her world. The chemistry between Saffron and Lachlan is so intense I’m surprised my screen didn’t explode. That scene has me impatiently waiting for the next. This novella is leading us to what I can only expect to be another intense love story.

A great prequel for Gentlemen Rogues!
Lachlon and Saffron meet at a club she was celebrating her birthday at with her best friend. Saffron is called The Heir. Her brother is over-protective. This story is steamy hot and has action in it. For a novella a lot happens. It’s a great story with a great plot with a great cliffhanger. It leaves you anticipating what will happen next. I can’t wait for the first book in this series, The King.

This novella is a scorching entry into a new series. It's a quick and hot read, fast paced and full of action, setting the scene nicely for what is to come. I adore Saffron already, she is a fierce, strong character, with a wonderful BFF and a ton of emotional baggage. Loch is easy to take at face value and underestimate, but there is more to him. Some well written fight scenes and a cliffhanger already, I love where this is going.

I gave this book five stars because it was awesome. Lachlan and Saffron were the perfect pair. It was amazing how he zeroed in on her at the club. Their night together was magical. I wonder how Lachlan is going to get out of his situation. I can't wait for the next book. Good job Nana! Keep up the excellent work.
