My first cowboy romance and it was the sweetest thing ever!!

I liked how the focus went straight to the couple and their undeniable chemistry. I loved seeing them learn to trust each other and build a beautiful relationship. The story was deliciously spicy and I honestly had a great time reading.

I also really enjoyed the discussion around the erasure of black cowboys and their history.

I wanted an epilogue but I realized that this book was the first in a series around the wedding festivities and I might read the other ones because I want more of these two characters and the wedding party!

Reese Ryan has another best seller on her hands. She has an awesome way of pulling in the readers and giving them the feeling of being front and center and rooting the characters on. Reese Ryan kicks off the “Texas Cattleman’s Club The Wedding”. This is an entertaining read that is fast-paced, easy and a quick read. The characters are witty and awesome. The plot is great that takes the readers on a journey of romance for Tripp and Dionne. Tripp is the brother of Tessa Noble who we met early in “Until Midnight”. I’m thrilled to finally be getting Tripp’s journey to an HEA. Tripp and Dionne have being meeting via tele communicating along with Ari who is Dionne’s best and boss and Xavier who is Tripp’s cousin. The two are helping plan the wedding of Ari and Xavier and in the process the two are finding out a lot about each other and findings themselves going from enemies to friends to lovers. Ari is all set to have her wedding in LA and Xavier her future is fine with the plans until his cousin Tripp talks the couple into having the wedding in the small town of Royal Texas. As Tripp is doing his best to convince Dionne that Royal Texas is the perfect place to have the wedding the couple are surely falling for each other rather hard and enjoying themselves in the process.

This is an awesome read and if you’ve never read a Reese Ryan book before pick of “Texas At Midnight” where you will meet Tessa who is Tripp’s sister and next pick up “A Cowboy Kind Of Thing” where we meet up with Tripp again or just pick up both books and sit back and enjoy yourself. You will not be disappointed.

I received an ARC of “A Cowboy Kind Of Thing” and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

I have yet to pick up a Reese Ryan romance and not enjoyed it. Nevermind that I am picky and I don't grab everything, but I am also a good picker of steamy romance featuring Black characters.

This book was a delightful Sunday afternoon read. Great writing, excellent pacing (hate a book that drags and has a saggy middle- the plot carries through strong from beginning to end), just the right amount of steamy scenes and an ending that makes me long for more of the book. This is book 1 in a series where other books are written by different authors, so there is a bit of a cliffhanger, but this book gives me happy, warm feelings and I'm satisfied. It also gave me some inspiration for books I'm working on.

Sometimes Harlequin romances can be stale and formulaic- that can be comforting or stifling. This one is comforting. Well done!

Sign me up for anything written by Reese Ryan. I really enjoy the way she develops a romance between her main characters. In this book, we have Dionna and Tripp, who are roped in doing the work for their best friends' wedding after it was decided to move the wedding from Los Angeles to Royal, Texas. Dionna is a very straight by the book, detail-oriented person. She wasn't excited about her best friend moving the wedding to small town Royal. Dionna has certain expectations and wanted only the best for her bestie. Tripp is a bit more carefree and friendly than his planning partner. But there is a sexual tension that they both are fighting for each other.
I really enjoyed Tripp and his commitment to his best friend. He was a gentleman towards Dionna and wanted her to walk away with a pleasing experience in Royal. He couldn't fight the attraction for long and things happen which open the door for a possible HEA with Dionna.

Casting director Dionna is in Texas to help plan her BFF's wedding. She clashes with best man Tripp, who's trying to convince her that his small town can produce a glamorous event to rival Hollywood. When opposites attract, will it turn to love?

There's a strong spark between Dionna and Tripp from the beginning, but it takes time for them to trust. She's something of an introvert, while he's a charmer. They're both kind, open, and respectful to each other. They expect the affair to be short-term, but come to realize that they fit together better than they expected. It's a steamy, heartwarming, and uplifting book.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Dionna’s best friend, Ari, and Tripp’s cousin, Xavier, are getting married and are holding the wedding in Royal, Texas, Tripp and Xavier’s hometown. Dionna and Tripp are tasked with helping them plan their wedding since the couple is busy with their respective careers. But, Dionna is hesitant about the wedding being in Royal, Texas. While they plan the wedding, Tripp takes it upon himself to show Dionna around the town he grew up in, hoping experiencing it herself will convince her this is the right place for the wedding. This close proximity causes them to enjoy themselves and each other as well as develop feelings.

I really enjoyed this book. This was an easy to read, sweet and fun romance. I enjoyed the development of Tripp and Dionna’s relationship. They were witty and fun. Dionna really cared about her best friend and wanted what was best for her and to make the wedding what she wanted. Tripp was friendly, sweet and funny. He really made me blush a lot.

Reese Ryan is a queen of category romance in my opinion, and this might be the best I’ve read from her! Tripp and Di were well-drawn and delightful characters, and I am a sucker for a wedding planning plot line so this one has me hooked from the first chapter. The audio was perfection. Loved the discussion and highlighting of Black cowboys and their erasure in US history and how the movie Di was working on would bring that to a large audience. Looking forward to seeing this couple live out their HEA in the rest of this series 😊

Dionna and Tripp only "met" a few times talking with their mutual friends and family during zoom-time. Now Dionna is called to go to Royal, Texas, to help for her bestie's wedding's preparations. She's going to team up with Tripp, the groom's cousin. But neither are prepared for the sparks exploding every time they're in the same room.

I enjoyed the MC's natural chemistry even when they weren't so sure about each other at first.

A Cowboy kind of Thing was a mixed trope in my opinion a little enemy (just a lil) to friends and then friends to lovers. Once again this author did not disappoint, this was a great story line of friends becoming lovers it was a little predictable but I still enjoyed it. I was looking for more and hopefully there will be a follow up to this story.

This book has me rolling my eyes so many times. This type of romance is not for me. The female lead had a attitude for no reason like girl y u so bitter it's not your wedding. And that was a week little reason for there to be drama between her and the male lead. Both leads were boring as hell and it just dragged on for no reason. Just a no.

I loved this book. My full review will be posted on my website (Okie Dreams), but I just finished this and couldn't not say how much I loved it. The characters are just so fun, and the writing flows so well that each page and scene just carries you right along into the next. Absolutely loved the read and cannot wait for the rest of the series!

I have to give credit to Reese Ryan for introducing me to Harlequin's Texas Cattleman's Club series and Royal, Texas. The series has been around for 14 years, spanning 18 subseries and over 100 books. All while allowing readers to be introduced to new authors and fall in love with countless main and secondary characters.

That being said, readers first met Tripp Noble in Reese's His Until Midnight (his sister Tess' story). He then appeared again in Secret Heir Seduction, where I met and fell for him. In that story, Tripp was an easygoing flirt who I knew needed his own story. In A Cowboy Kind of Thing, the first book in The Wedding series, Austin Charles Noble III aka Tripp meets and falls in love with Dionna Reed.

The Texas Cattleman's Club: The Wedding series centers around the wedding of Hollywood actress, Ariana Ramos, and Royal's own bestselling author Xavier Noble. When the filming of Ariana’s latest movie gets extended, Xavier decides he might as well also extend his world book tour. The problem is the two have already rescheduled their wedding twice and they don’t want to reschedule again. Also, the two want to get married in Royal but haven't made any wedding decisions. Xavier asks his cousin Tripp to help with the wedding planning because Tripp knows him well and knows what he likes and doesn’t. Plus, Tripp knows Royal and can make connections easily. Ariana asks her best friend and business partner Dionna to go to Royal and see if it can indeed meet their wants and visions for the wedding. That all sounds easy enough, except Dionna looks down on Royal, doesn’t think it can deliver a wedding befitting Ariana, and thinks Ariana is sacrificing her dream wedding to get married in Royal to make Xavier happy. Add to that, Tripp and Dionna are polar opposites in so many ways. Dionna views Tripp as the “town flirt who enjoys flying by the seat of his pants”. Tripp sees Dionna as a “Ms. Do-It-by-the-Book, let’s get all of our ducks in a row before we move forward.”. This whole plan has disaster written all over it. Until Tripp truly puts on the charm and shows Dionna that he’s a deeper person than she gives him credit for.

I honestly loved Tripp. I knew he had more than surface appeal. Dionna is/was a little uptight, but managed to loosen up. She’s afraid of love and trusting the wrong person with her heart. She’s also afraid to admit that she had Tripp pegged all wrong. I loved watching these two fall in love. Dionna helps Tripp to see that he can be more than he thinks he can be. Tripp shows Dionna that he’s someone she can count on.

Reese has definitely set this series up nicely. At least one of the main characters from each future book is mentioned so you get an idea of who they are and what they’re like. I seriously can’t wait for more opposites attract, fake relationships, and a surprise pregnancy.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was unsure about this book when I started it but I have grown to love Reese Ryan’s writing style. Dionne and Tripp share the same sentiments when it comes to each other. Sometimes they can’t stand each other and other times they wanna know what each other tastes like. Dionne is coming off of a two year relationship that failed and Tripp is Royal’s own playboy. The two take their best friends place as prior engagements lead them to have to miss the final leg of their wedding arrangements. The two finally react on their feelings and the story is great from there.

An amazing start to a new TCC series! Donna is in Royal to plan her best friends wedding. While there she is working with Tripp. He is the soon to be hubby of Dionna's best friend. He is also Tripp's cousin. Dee is shy so she is uncomfortable around Tripp and really is against the wedding being there but the more Tripp shows her of Royal the more she likes it! She us also liking Tripp! Their chemistry is real and honest. Can Dee live anywhere other than Hollywood or can Tripp entice her to stay in Royal?

I love getting started on a new series (or a new series within an established world like The Texas Cattleman’s Club: The Wedding), and A Cowboy Kind of Thing just had me smiling throughout at not only the story but the people we’re about to meet – talk about opposites attract!

Tripp is all country and is immensely proud of his small hometown of Royal, Texas – enough so that he’s convinced that Royal is the perfect spot for his cousin’s wedding, after all, who needs Hollywood glitz when you can have everything that embodies Texas in one spot? Dionna is as city girl as they come, and she can’t for the life of her understand why her best friend would agree to move the wedding from Hollywood to… Royal, Texas, a small town full of, well, cowboys, it seems, and it doesn’t compare to everything she’d had planned for this event back in Hollywood. Yet, if the bride is happy, really, what can Dionna say to counter the bride’s wishes but “sure, no problem” while inwardly cringing? That is until the bride and groom’s schedules blew up, and it suddenly was up to Dionna and Tripp to make all the decisions (or so it seemed) for this important “Wedding Of The Year” event.

Tripp has about a week to change a city girl’s mind – and maybe fall in love. Looks like Royal’s reputation for happy ever afters is as up in the air as befits this town full of love stories that had rocky moments that lead to the altar… eventually.

I had such fun back in Royal, Texas, for Dionna’s and Tripp’s romance. I love a story where it seems (at first glance) that the couple is so different that they could never find common ground, let alone fall into a forever kind of love. And I’m happy to say that Reese Ryan, once again, proved me wrong in thinking that love couldn’t find a way. I always fall a little bit in love with heroes, but Tripp is delightful, funny, sexy, and so sure that his way is the right (or only) way. It took me a little bit longer to fall for Dionna, but she won me over with her love of her best friend and her willingness to see things differently than she’d imagined.

This is a couple that fits, and it was such a fun, emotional journey watching them fall in love, make some attitude adjustments, and find their own happiness in A Cowboy Kind of Thing. If you love opposites attract, country vs. city mindset, anything Texas, or simply a well-written, emotional, fun, and sexy romance, then you’ll want to start on the newest Texas Cattleman’s Club: The Wedding right now.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.

Mini Book Review!! 🥳🥳
📚A Cowboy Kind of Thing - Reese Ryan
Y’all so I finally can say I’ve gotten my hands on a Reese Ryan book and it was great!! 😆🤠💕 See my mini review below!
📚🤠💕📚🤠💕📚🤠💕
What a sweet romance! Let’s be clear this was boarder line enemies to lovers but once the love was loving this book ended in the sweetest way! Dionna and Tripp were requested by her BFF and his cousin to help set the arrangements for their upcoming wedding. Diana a very by the book girl and Tripp go with the flow charming cowboy and town favorite! To start off the BFF, Ari, and Tripps cousin, Xavier, were asking a lot of Dionna and Tripp if you ask me! Like that meme “the pressure is getting worser” is what this situation reminded me of lol. To make things worse Dionna is dead set on finding flaws in the small town of Royal where the wedding will be held. Tripp has a long road ahead to prove to Dionna that Royal is the perfect place and has great local vendors for the wedding. The journey of them getting to know each other and getting under each others skin was fun to read. I thoroughly enjoyed when Dionna read him and his past player ways like a book! Lol Tripp learns that he isn’t the only one with a past as some of Dionna’s past causes her hesitancy on making it official or giving them a shot. Dionna had to work through some things and I’m glad Tripp didn’t give up on her and made a few sacrifices of his own! A favorite scene of mine was them sneaking kisses in the barn with the horses, them getting under each others skin, and him bragging on her even through she had made him upset. There were some scenes I was side eyeing Tripp because let be clear he was well known all over town! And not just for the charming smile! Lol I’m glad he gave Dionna grace for the misconception she had and understanding her history played a part in that. Overall this book is a 4 ⭐️ for me! Very sweet romance, a little bit of slow burn, and a great cowboy romance story! Go out and cop this book! It releases Jan 24th, 2023! I received this Arc from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The attraction of opposites and close proximity are the perfect tropes for this engaging story. Country meets city when Dionna Reed and Austin Charles Noble III, better known as Tripp, must come together to plan the perfect wedding festivities for their best friends, Ariana Ramos, actress, and Xavier Noble, author. Tripp is Tess’a brother from HIS UNTIL MIDNIGHT, a Texas Cattlemen’s Club story. This story is also a Texas Cattlemen’s Club story, but it is the start of a new series under that brand. A COWBOY KIND OF THING is the first story in The Wedding Series. Yes, fans, it’s set in Royal, Texas, the home of the Texas cattlemen.

As I said we follow Tripp and Dionna as they butt heads planning the one-of-kind wedding for the besties. Dionna would prefer the wedding to take place in L.A., the brides hometown. Tripp has to convince Dionna that Royal can handle the wedding and all wedding festivities. What happens as the couple become more involved in the planning is what you’ll discover when you read this entertaining story.

I liked this story and I recommend it for your reading pleasure. The Texas Cattlemen Club series is a long running series. If you aren’t familiar with the stories, I suggest you check them out. In the meantime, pick up a copy of Reese Ryan’s book, A COWBOY KIND OF THING. It definitely lives up to the theme of the series: “A luxurious world of bold encounters and sizzling chemistry’.

This is my first Harlequin book of the year and, although I haven’t finished the Texas Cattleman’s Club previous series yet (only three left!), this story—the first one in the The Wedding series of the TCC franchise—gave me a vibe that it would be a good one. And my gut feeling was right about it, even though I’m a bit biased with the franchise (I’ve read almost all of the series included in it). A witty, sassy, funny and alluring love story who sets the bar high for the next installments of the series. A book you can read easily and a perfect pace and unforced transitions, perfect for a weekend read. With a smart writing with tons of personality and incredible main characters, Reese Ryan is officially in my Fetish Authors list.

Delectable sass and sizzling chemistry steal the show as Reese Ryan dazzles in old Hollywood style for the first book in the newest Texas Cattleman's Club sub-series The Wedding! I was hooked from the start by Dee and Tripp's fireworks and chemistry and only grew to love them more as the story progressed. I can't wait to see what the rest of the series has in store for us!

Dionna is sincere and kind, but her big city roots are showing when she continues to believe that Texas can't begin to hold a candle to the Hollywood wedding her BFF has always dreamed of.

Tripp is a sweetheart and wants his family to have a fair shot of shining for his cousin's wedding, so he pours on the charm and makes Dee fall for Royal.

I highly recommend this book to fans of the TCC franchise and to anyone that enjoys high drama and luscious chemistry between an unlikely couple on that way towards happily ever after.

He’s all cowboy, and she’s a city girl, but Royal, TX joins these kindred spirits
In another installment of the Texas Cattleman’s Club series, Dionna (Dee) Reed is a Hollywood casting director scoping out wedding locations for her famous best friend, Ariana; alongside Tripp Noble, the cousin of Ariana’s fiancé, Xavier.

Dionne’s first trip to Royal is her first interaction with Tripp in person, but the four of them have been on calls for weeks planning the wedding of the year.

Dee and Tripp clearly have chemistry, but Tripp presents as a free loving playboy, and Dee as the workaholic. Dee surprises Tripp with her childhood stories of her grandparents dairy farm.

I loved the story and main characters. And can’t wait for the next couple and hopefully more tidbits of information to be dropped about Black Cowboys…

Dionna and Tripp are roped into standing in for their respective best friends and help plan their wedding, Arianna and Xavier. They are both cautious when they initially meet, and the sparks start to fly, but they realize that resisting is futile.

I have yet to read a book from this author that I didn't enjoy. From the shy heroine that needs to come out of her shell, to the sexy, rugged black cowboy who is fine as they come, this story is a great example of two unlikely, and other wise opposite people being just right for each other. It was also great visiting the Texas Cattleman's Club again. I devoured this book and can't wait for the next great read from this author.

I received a copy of the book via the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions.

And what a cowboy thing it was to!

So this is what happens when the intended couple end up putting together her (bride's)best friend and his (groom) cousin disguised as stand in planners for the wedding of the two people close to Dee and Tripp's hearts! There is a bit of history of the many Black cowboys interspersed in this story that were left out of mainstream history. There is minor drama with Dee's mini meltdown. Then come Dee's decisions of whether to allow hurts from past relationships to derail what has obviously become love between her and Tripp. Finally the question of if Dee will allow the peace of this small town to embrace her as she makes it her home! I truly enjoyed this heart warming story of how the small town guy and the big city girl found the best of both worlds if it can keep them together. A really great story Reese it truly, truly is! Thank you for this story! I now wait to see who gets smitten next. I would guess but I think I will keep it to myself and reveal it if I'm right!!!!!!😍😇😀

So far my biggest pet peeve is the whole narrative. My parents didn’t like my career choice is so exhausting. And this one in particular is unbelievable. Her mother was a Center photographer? How many black women cinematographer’s are there no black person working in Hollywood making strides in an actual living with discouraged their child from following in their footsteps. It is so unbelievable unless they are just complete clueless assholes, which this doesn’t seem to be the case. She should’ve had a different career choice in order for us to believe her parents were mad about Deanna and then she becomes a weird possessive whiny crybaby at the mixer. I’m so over these basic bitches, get it together,! and Ari and also hella basic…omg😩 he didn’t have to tell her. He dated the make up artist that was none of her business. She wanted to keep it casual.

A Cowboy Kind of Thing is a great start to kick off The Wedding! I love Tripp and Dee these two had me on their first interaction. The banter between the two with some of the disagreements of Ari and Ex's wedding worked up enough steam for these two to give into that hot desire an attraction they were feeling for each other. I love how the planning of the wedding allowed them to spend more and more time together. Reese never disappoints the HEA was wonderful can't wait for the next story in TCC The Wedding miniseries!

wedding Planners Turned Lovers

I loved this book!! I am now a big fan of Reese Ryan!! Tripp and Dee didn’t have a clue that they would become the love of each others lives. They worked so closely to plan her bestie and his cousin’s wedding, they never stood a chance of not falling in love with each other. Dee didn’t think they could have a relationship. Because they lived in different states. Tripp showed her otherwise! The only thing that would have made this story even better, would have been an epilogue! Awesome read Ms. Ryan!!! 🔥❤️
