In this action-packed mystery thriller by #1 bestselling author Blake Pierce, Cora Shields, 30, former Navy Seal turned FBI Special Agent, will stop at nothing to catch a killer—but she is stunned, after bending one rule too many, to find herself fired. When women working for a powerful politician disappear under mysterious circumstances, the cops are too afraid to touch the case, and it’s up to vigilante ex-agent Cora Shields to put the pieces together—if she can survive the forces closing in on her.
On the outside, Cora Shields is a total badass. A Navy SEAL veteran and a top agent in the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, Cora has a reputation for doing whatever it takes to catch a killer. What no one knows, though, is that she’s a wreck on the inside, addicted to painkillers and deeply depressed.
Cora’s new case is not what it initially seems, and Cora must enter the dark underworld of crime bosses, gangs, and dirty politicians to uncover the truth at the bottom of it all. But her enemies are watching her closely, and the clock is ticking before another victim is claimed. Can Cora use her skills to crack the case in time?

Unwanted is the second book in Cora Shields series by Blake Pierce. It is an action packed suspense thriller book with a sorta retired SEAL agent Cora Shields at the heart of the investigations.
This case took Cora to Miami and got her involved in the city politics with Mayor's family being a target of a killer. I enjoyed the mystery for what its worth but I much prefer suspense building over action any day and this series is not much suited to my taste with Cora getting into physical fights often with the unsavory elements.
I am still curious enough about where life would take her next and it was good to see her not rely on pills after a long time so I'll pick up the next book soon.
I really enjoy reading the stories with Cora Shields as the main character, she is tough, relentless, and without any doubt a superhero with all the human flaws one can have. This series reminds me of the cartoons I used to watch on TV featuring Superman or Superwoman. Unwanted has a good plot, shows Cora a little bit more human, and sometimes presents herself as a woman with a different flair. She keeps on working with her ex-FBI partner and making great damage to the "bad guys". Very entertaining!
Pretty good second in the series, will read the third soon. As 512; up to today; books have been written by 'Blake Pierce'; probably a cadre of several authors using the same name -- and why not, if you're a good writer, and these books; about Cora; are pretty good. One day when he reckons he can make a separate living, we'll find out this author's name.. this book is good, and good fun. She's a bit unbelievable: almost unbeatable in a fight.. (Do such women exist?) But I'll read the third soon.
Book two of this series. It is a smaller book, so it is a quick read which is what I wanted. I like the main character or maybe the thought of her. Again, the storyline and plot twists seemed to be grasping and rushed. Several questions unanswered for other books. I will bread book three of this series. If it feels the same, I may quit the series before reading it all. I can't put my finger on it, but it doesn't leave the feel-good feeling more of a are you kidding me feeling.
Ex SEAL Cora takes a side job for her old SEAL boyfriend and enters a world of back room drug dealing and drama. She sets out to find the killer of her buddy’s sister but gets embroiled in dirty politicians drug connections. The mayor’s family is being picked off and Cora sneaks into his heavily guarded home to ask questions.yes, she reached out to her old FBI mentor but she also tossed him overboard. Unconventional but she does get results and even helped end a dangerous cartel.
Another action packed short story. A five rating for content and readability. However, less than four for the numbers of errors in grammar and tense. Love Cora Shields. Will she work for the FBI again?
Cora is trying to find out what happened to her sister, Rose, who disappeared years ago. Her ex-boyfriend, Johnny, calls asking her to help his parents find out what happened to his sister who disappeared while working for a politician in Miami. Others have disappeared and things start to go bad. Great read!
