Fishing can be deadly…

Evie’s plan to indulge Tom’s desire for a spot of fishing turns deadly. Either people are dying unexpectedly of natural causes or someone has become quite an expert at killing without leaving a trace.

As the unexpected deaths continue to increase, Evie and Tom become suspicious. The signs are subtle but there nonetheless. They know they must bring their concerns to the attention of the police, even if they prove to be groundless.

However, the local police find no reason to investigate. This convinces Evie and Tom to turn to their friends at Scotland Yard but, first, they must find proof of wrongdoing and that could set the killer on their trail.

This is an overall good story in which Evie and Tom take a holiday by themselves leaving a few hard feelings behind as the ladies of the manor are left behind.

They are going on a fishing trip where Evie went with her husband before his death.
On the way, Evie notices a funeral where there is only one mourner and a bunch of flowers,

As this is still the 1920s, Evie is a countess. I can only imagine the scandals following her and Tom as they make their travels.

Evie is now introducing Tom as her fiancé, but, she is not wearing an engagement ring.

I think I am continuing to read this series just to see if there is ever going to be an actual mystery. In this one at least there were murders - although the motive is so slim it was practically non existent. The book also suffered from too many characters most of whom were pointless to the plot. Biggest fail though was the police inspector who arrested the killer based, it appears, only on Evie's say so. Ok.

Unusual!

Tom and Evie go for 2 weeks to a castle for a fishing vacation for Tom.. They discover 3 unexplained deaths of women who had attended the same academy.. Evie senses something is off and investigates. This is very low key and not particularly interesting.

disappointing

So many characters with little to no details was confusing. All the names and few descriptions. I’m sure the author can remember all the characters but I can’t. Mystery wasn’t interesting and ending seemed rushed.

3.5 star Fishing for Murder 📕book 16

I was a little disappointed due to lack of humour compared to her other books in this series.. And,the killer was arrested with the Detective taking their word on it and the Detective,he arrested the murderer without effort to me.🤨🤷🏻‍♀️🧐❣️

Another great read from Sonia Parin. Evie and Tom getting into another scrape when they should have had a few days relaxing and fishing.

Evie solves another one in her unique style. Love it. I do miss the Dowagers though.
