The Therapist is the first book in a new series written by W.S. Greer and as the title suggests it’s about a therapist - a relationship and sex therapist to be exact. If you are assuming that there are hot and steamy sex scenes throughout this book, then I can confirm that you'd be right about that.
I loved getting to know Dr Malcolm Colson both in and out of the office. Witnessing him at work was very intriguing and I loved then seeing if his patient would take his advice and if it would help. Outside of work Malcolm likes to have control and his dominant nature was the perfect way for us to see the man practicing what he teaches 😉
I thought The Therapist was a great read and certainly started the series off very well. I am looking forward to seeing what advice the good doctor will give next and to see developments in his personal life too. I have a feeling that he has more than he can handle at home and I can’t wait to see if I’m correct or not!
Shameless -
I really enjoyed reading Shameless which is the second book in this new series by W.S. Greer. Dr. Malcolm Colson is a relationship and sex therapist and I once again loved observing Malcolm helping his patients.
This book focuses on Tessa who has started having therapy sessions with Malcolm for relationship advice. I absolutely loved witnessing the transformation in her as she, with Malcolm’s help, works out what she wants in life and gains the confidence to make some necessary changes. She is a lovely person and I wish her a happy and successful future.
In the last book we saw Malcolm enter a Dom/Sub relationship with his ex-patient Ava. They are so suited for each other in a sexual way but I was left wondering at the end of the last book if he had bitten off more than he can chew. Seeing their relationship develop in this instalment hasn’t filled me with any confidence for him at all. I love that their interactions have me on edge and I cannot wait to see what develops in the next book.
The Fallout -
The Fallout is now my favourite book in this series to date and has left me even more excited to read Toxic when it releases in September.
I have loved witnessing Dr. Malcolm Colson helping his patients in the previous two books, but I couldn’t help become very fond of Dani and Eli who are the couple seeking help from Malcolm in this instalment. I absolutely loved how the author wrote this couple’s story - I was able to understand what Dani was feeling since losing the trust she once fully had in her husband, and I really wanted Malcolm to work his magic and set this couple back on the road to a long and happy marriage. I felt that the strategies and advice that Malcolm was giving the couple were very well researched and I appreciated the outcome of their therapy.
At the end of Shameless (the second book in the series) we saw Malcolm terminate his personal relationship with Ava and I wasn’t expecting this to go without any repercussions. Malcolm has been missing what he feels only Ava can give him and therefore struggling to not make contact with her and I was very surprised when he found a way to overcome those urges. I wasn’t expecting the events that unfolded and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
I am absolutely loving this series. I love that each book sees Malcolm trying to help new patients with different issues whilst trying to navigate his own life too. I have a feeling that in the next book, things are about to get a little ‘toxic’ for Malcolm…. we shall see!
Toxic -
Toxic is the fourth and final book in this series and it did not disappoint! At the end of the third book I was expecting life to get a little ‘toxic’ for Malcolm and sadly for him it most certainly did.
Once again, we see Malcolm helping new clients with their relationship difficulties and I love that the author addressed the issues that Kim and Trent were having. I appreciated how the outcome from their therapy sessions was written too. I have genuinely enjoyed witnessing Dr Colson helping and advising different clients throughout the series and I have gained a greater understanding due to being able to read the different perspectives of Malcolm and those clients. It was also interesting to see him using his training during the times when he experienced complications in his own personal life - especially with Evelyn who is a therapist herself.
Toxic has been a great ending to a must-read series. It has all the drama that I was hoping for, which had me on the edge of my seat at times.
The Therapist is a series that I recommend without hesitation. The books must be read in order and I am certain they will keep you gripped from start to finish as they did me. I have loved the way that W.S. Greer has written this series; it is unlike any other I have read before.
This was great. I was sad when I read the last page because I didn’t want to finish the book at the some time the author didn’t leave anything unanswered.
