Beehive is the go-to book for almost every CBSE-affiliated institution, rightfully so because it's a wonderful textbook that enables a reader to critically analyse the prose or poem and formulate theories of their own. The English language poses as a difficulty to many ninth graders till date, and Beehive atleast, tries to bridge the path to a certain degree of fluency.

My edition has 11 proses and 10 poems, but however in the coming years, both select prose and poems like will be omitted in curriculum.

9th grade English literature is memorable, purely due to the fact that this could be related to daily life and because there were stories and poems that struck chords and pulled heartstrings. Some chapters pushed me to think and theorize, while some others cracked me up and had me keeled over on the floor. Some made me melancholic and deeply connected to the poets, and some made me determined enough to finish my unfinished projects. All in all, beehive contains a collection of some of the best poetry and prose for students to easily grasp and analyse.

So anyways, reviewing the shitty chapters ✌️😋

Part 2, Sound of Music. Please for the love of God shut up about where he performed, what type of student he had in America and what theater was named after him. I don't want to know how heavy the laddoo he got was, nor how innovative he was inventing raags for an impossible instrument. Yes, Bismillah Khan is an integral part of Indian and classical music history, but no, God, no, I did not need to know who was there when he played Raag Kafi at the Red Fort. It contains a lot of factual knowledge which is difficult to tuck away into a part of your mind, so heads up, HIGHLIGHT THE ENTIRE 2ND LAST PAGE.

A Slumber did my Spirit Seal. I love Wordsworth, don't get me wrong but the way this poem irritated me is impossible to fathom. I threw tantrums because I couldn't expand my words when I thought of this poem because of how short and vague it was. Its a 2 quatrain poem with a rhyme scheme of abab cdcd and is very deep in meaning. I'd recommend using a guide for the summary, theme, message and ncert question and answer for this chapter.

The Snake and the Mirror. This is a narrative inside a narrative which makes it a bit mind-boggling at first, but you warm up to the narration soon enough. This chapter is so stupid, it makes me cry. In a bad way. What do you mean the homeopath was thinking about the gender of the snake while it admired itself in the mirror? What do you mean he wanted to marry a rich fat lady doctor? The homeopath is definitely a rare character in literature which is particularly why he irritated me. I couldn't figure him out at first, which was frustrating for me. This is a humorous story which will definitely make you forget you're in a classroom when you read this.

THE MOST SUSSIEST CHAPTER, THE LITTLE GIRL 🤢
WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS GOING ON IN THIS CHAPTER? What do you mean this girl is scared of her father, like girlypop, he literally did nothing??? Kezia, the little girl in question, is quite childish and she jumps to conclusions quickly. As expected but a bit tough to get used to at my reading level. And why does she stutter like a wattpad Y/N like shut yo goofy ahh up 😭 ain't nobody wanna listen to you take 15 seconds to whisper a simple ‘No, father’. The punishment scene is sus, and so is the nightmare scene, like ok- 😀 is this how daughters and fathers act? Okay 😃 also the ending dialogue is unsettling ngl
