She’s a disgraced pop star. He’s the frontman of Black Rosary. Their worlds are about to collide and nothing will ever be the same again.
Ten years ago, I fell in love The pop princess and the rock star. On paper, we should never have worked. In public she was a sweet girl-next-door bubble-gum pop singer. But when we were together, her passion matched mine. I was ready to make her mine forever, and then she told me it was over.
Five years ago I walked away from him He was everything I shouldn’t want yet the only thing I’d ever craved. My contract demanded I uphold a certain reputation. So we had to keep our relationship a secret, because we didn't fit the mold. But then my label found out, and they gave me two options. Lose him or lose everything.
I made my choice, and the consequences were worse than I could ever have imagined.
If you are looking for gentle romps through the flowers, with lovers holding hands and never making mistakes, then my books are not for you.
I don't write heroes or heroines, I write people with baggage, history and problems. My characters are flawed, they're messy, they make disastrous mistakes that are hard to come back from. My stories are not sweet or kind, they are dark and, at times, cruel. They deal with uncomfortable subjects and I do not apologise for it.
If you like plot twists, characters you don't think you'll ever grow to love but eventually do, sarcasm, dark paths and messy relationships, then come on in. The water may be deep and shark-infested, but I know the way out ...I promise.

Well the wait for Marley Stone is over and it was worth every second.
Ten years their love story encompassed. Half together and half apart. Watching them love each other, lose each other and then reconnect was the sweetest candy cane a girl could ever wish for.
Marley was everything I wished for. He was larger than life but not so jaded that he was untouchable. His character oozed sex appeal and that crooked smile had me swooning more times that I would like to admit. Rain was perky, perpetually happy… until she wasn’t. The absolute horrors her character went through were shocking and had my heart hurting for her. She felt backed into a corner and no choice seemed like the right choice. But when those two loved, the stars were brighter and life was worth living.
The author has an amazing way of showing the trauma her characters have been through without being overly gratuitous in how she describes events. She brings closure (or at least relief) to her characters to help them through theses events. The characters she brings to life are flawed. They make snap judgements. They don’t listen to what’s between the words they hear. They are prideful and scared. They are broken in the best way and that’s what makes them so easy to love.
I knew that Elise and Thomas had created magic with they did their duet narration for Rook also by L. Ann, but I feel like that was just a taster of sorts. I was not prepared to be blown away, by the way, amped it up for this one! Holy moly! The intensity of the story is there through out, but their beautiful narration just brought Marley and Rain to life even more.
I've always said, to expect the unexpected when it comes to L. Ann's books. With Marley and Rain's journey, she certainly made it a spin and shows you the other side of things. Not just with the music industry either, but what happens when it's the other half of the couple who has fallen from grace. Whatever you’re expecting for this rockstar romance, throw it out the window. Instead, open yourself up to the story of a couple that will take you on the ups and downs of their journey and leaves you with so many emotions. You’ll be left breathless for so many reasons ( 😉 ), and questioning one character or the other. You’ll also fall in love with Marley Stone, the sexy, dedicated, determined, cinnamon roll center of a man who has strong convictions. He can also charm the pants off you (Yes please), add a little bit of fun to a pair of undies (mmm hmm), and make you want to follow him as the pied piper lures away the creatures that follow him. Trust me, you won’t be mad about it!
You’ll see Rain Silverman, the woman behind the outer hard shell of a pop princess. The hidden strength she holds so close to her is incredible. She’s resilient, loving, strong, brave, beautiful on the inside and out, and one hell of a fighter. She’ll make you feel all the emotions along with her. Then you’ll want to fight by her side as she makes her way back from so much you didn’t expect. Their journey both together and apart will take you on that rollercoaster ride that is the norm for L. Ann’s books. Once again, she’s highlighted such big as well as dangerous scenarios in our society. It showcases how it doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, or your socioeconomic standings, these things happen.
I laughed, I cried, I yelled back at my kindle. I needed many tissues because I’m an emotional reader. Rain’s overall development shows that there is hope for so many. She is raw, real, and as complex as any “real” person. As someone who is a survivor, I felt this story to my core. The way it was told, was so spot on. This book offers a stripped-down look at the reality of domestic violence and mental health struggles. One person’s ability to overcome is another’s hope they can do that too. Everything that was taken away from them, they make their way back to finding it again and changing it. I mean, #movienightwithmarley! 😉 IYKYK
Don’t pass this book up! Go grab it now, expect the unexpected and dive into their epic journey. Feel all the emotions, and all the hot flashes. Oh, did I mention how spicy this book is? This is the spiciest book she’s written to date and it’s EVERYTHING! If you’re looking for some down and dirty as well as some sweet loving, oh you’ve found it. GRAB MARLEY...I mean…THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW!
Pop Princess + Rock God = A tremendously fantastic (and spicy) love story ***** Rating: 5 this may be my favorite book this year stars Steam: 4 talk dirty to me flames Genre: Rockstar, Second Chance Triggers: Violence against women ***** First and foremost, I totally loved this book! This may be my favorite book this year, if I am being honest! This book has it all, amazing writing, humor, feelings, amazing characters, and a plot that will have you tearing through the pages as your heart is ripped open and then rebuilt.
The thing about L. Ann’s book is that you need to go in without spoilers. It just ruins the enjoyment of unveiling each of the layers of the story..and there are some serious layers in this book.
I do not want to spoil your experience when reading this book, so I will remain vague.
The storyline made me feel so many emotions and though there is some sensitive subject matter in this book, I felt L. Ann handled it with grace and it wasn’t gratuitous or thrown in for shock value. Every layer of this book had a purpose, and as I peeled back the layers, I just loved the book more.
The writing is incredible, the storyline is brilliant, and the characters will either make you fall in love with them or want to rip their limbs off one by one. When you reach the end of the book, you will want.. no... NEED more because this is one of those books that you don't want to end. I devoured this book in a single day. Yep, it was a page-turner alright. The chemistry between the MCs leapt off the pages, and I'm not going to lie, I got hot and bothered more than once while reading this book. Geez Louise, there is some steam and dirty talk in this book!
So do I recommend? I am literally shouting at you to READ THIS BOOK. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars, go straight to your kindle library and download this book! You will not be disappointed.
I’ve been waiting so long for Marley’s story. All through the Forgotten Legacy series he has popped up and I’ve just been dying to read his book. So when an early copy turned up my kindle I was so excited to get to this story before release day. I love the way the story was cleverly told so that we could understand the dirty and less attractive side of the music world. The creative ways that L. Ann has of writing that makes you think about things that actually aren’t on the page but has your mind conjuring up all kinds of scenarios that are left unsaid. She makes you think about those things without the shock of you actually reading them. Which I find so damn cleaver. Her amazing way of writing her steamier scenes that have you reaching for a cold shower and you will need to because this is the steamiest book yet. These are where we get to experience the real Marley and Rain. Just two people that have found each other but circumstances keep them apart. This makes those smexy time off the charts hot. Obviously I’m now hooked on this series and need the next book in the series.
I love a L.Ann rockstar romance. Her boys are usually gritty and real and always getting into mischief. Marley, however, is a bit of a surprise. He has the image of a rockstar but the heart of a teddy bear. He is just something else entirely and I loved him all the more for it. If you pick this up expecting Gabe you're in for a sweet surprise as Marley is thoughtful and patient and head over heels in love (don't get me wrong, he is as filthy as any member of Forgotten Legacy, just in a cuddly way).
Rain is the pop princess, controlled and created and moulded into an image by her manager and record label. Her behaviour is monitored and her every move is defined by her contract. The scary thing about this is, its probably not too far from some popstars truth. Rain is miserable and her love for Marley is secret and behind closed doors. Both Marley and Rain's hearts are broken when scandal and threats breaks them apart. Rain is then alone, abused and miserable. She is such a strong and bright character that when she breaks you really feel it along with her. She is so very lost.
This is a delight of a second chance romance to read (even though neither really ever stops loving the other). There is strength in their second love story and this book has the kind of ending we could only wish for in real life. Justice is served and endings are gorgeously potential filled.
An all round steamy, emotional and perfect second chance romance from the master of rockstars, L.Ann.
With each new book, L Ann pulls me further and further into her web, and honestly I don’t ever want to escape. I was looking forward to Marley and the other Black Rosary guys for a while and this one didn’t disappoint. It’s an inspired story of love and loss, second chances, overcoming abuse, and finding yourself. I loved every minute of it, clung to every word and finished with tears in my eyes for the beauty of it. Marley is the perfect book boyfriend and now in my top few book boyfriend harem. Can’t wait for more from the brilliant mind of the goddess author!
This was one of my all time favorites. This story was heartbreakingly beautiful. Second chance romance with amazing characters. This story has depth and meaning and written wonderfully. Thomas Locklear is amazing as always with his sexy, strong voice that will leave you swooning. Elise Hoffman was wonderful. So many emotions, well done everyone. This is book 1 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend this book.
Oh holy hell, this book was definitely worth the wait. I loved it so much and can’t wait for the next one. I loved finding out more about the Marley I met in the Forgotten Legacy books. I figured Marley was spicy but dang not that spicy oh boy. ;)
L. Ann brings the band Black Rosary into the spotlight in Fractured Angel with the story of its lead singer Marley Stone for a great new series for readers to swoon over!
Nice with an edge Marley Stone was the catnip hero readers crave! This character was a complicated mix of good guy and bad boy rolled into the perfect package. This author made you question everything you thought you knew about Marley for a portrayal readers will adore. With a constant barrage of abuse pop princess Rain "Rainbow" Silverman showed that she was strong but not without vulnerabilities. Ultimately Rain was an example of rising to one's best and conquering one's personal demons and very real threats regardless of the painful circumstances they had to endure. In the end Rain proved what an amazing and resilient heroine she was!
The connection between Marley and Rain was caring with a liberal dose of naughty making it irresistible. There was no shortage of chemistry between this pair! It was easy to see this couple's attraction and hard to see the battles they had to fight to be together, giving L. Ann's audience a compelling story to dig into. Rain's circumstances would put a strain on any relationship and Marley proved that he was the right person to be in her life. While Marley always had a solid supportive group of family and friends Rain had been left alone to navigate her exploitation and mistreatment by almost everyone around her for years. Despite the lies, confusion and mixed signals that attempted to corrupt this relationship this was a couple that saw each other without rose tinted glasses and after slogging through some trying obstacles they found their way back to each other stronger for it.
L Ann keeps bringing interesting characters with more than their fair share of challenges to the forefront for fantastic stories. Her writing is addictive and immersive as emotions flow with depth and meaning steadily. Secrets, compromises and a smoking hot connection twist Fractured Angel to the very end for a great read!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
My audio loving wishes came true with a dual narration by the supremely talented Thomas Locklear and the perfection that is Elise Hofman. Elise was the only choice to narrate Rain, and she more than did this character justice. Thomas' voice oozes that sexy Rockstar persona that Lee Ann's fans have become addicted to!!
To say I loved the audio even more than the ebook would be an understatement of epic proportions! Am I being dramatic? Maybe, but this book is worthy of all.the.stars!!!!
This is me telling you all that this book is a must-read! It's already secured a top spot in my favorite books of 2022!!
L. Ann writes Rockstar romance like no other author I've read, and I've read hundreds of them! Her talent in this genre is beyond words, and Fractured Angel is perfection.
Mark my words, this book will be nominated for awards in the Rockstar Romance genre. I know I'll be sharing my love for this book everywhere.
Marley is the lead singer of Black Rosary and also co-owner of NFG Productions along with Karl, who also manages his band and Forgotten Legacy. ( IYKYK)
Rain is THE biggest pop star in current history and had been indentured to Remarkable, her label and her manager since she was a 6 yr old girl. Her contract ends when she's 26 and can go out on her own if she wants, or so she's been told. Can you say groomed?? << insert angry face at what her character has had to endure for 21 years!! >>
This book is a rock ballad in written form that should also be turned into a movie! I have no doubt once the audiobook is out fans will want the audio as well. I'm already keeping fingers crossed for duet/dual narration so that Rain's voice is heard and portrayed in the best possible way.
This book is is so much more than a Rockstar romance! It's got heart, soul and vindication for victims everywhere and the freaking best Happily Ever After.
I literally squeed and clapped like a fool when Rain got her justice.
Fans of L. Ann will be clamoring for the next book in the Black Rosary series, Hushed Rapture.
Marley is all that. Rockstar, owner of a music label, tatted, dirty talking, sexy, protective alpha man.
"He really was inhumanly handsome."
But this book, this story is about Rain. This girls father should just be…well let’s just say it is a good thing that he wasn’t around to be a part of this one. She is made to live a life that no young girl should have to. It's disturbing and heartbreaking and thought provoking. And let's not forget a whole lot of awesomely smutty sexiness.
"All good girls have a bad girl inside them just waiting to come out and play."
You'll cry and you'll scream and you'll cringe and you'll root for Marley to make his way back to her and love her enough to right all her wrongs.
Luckily I didn't have to wait to long for this book because I jumped on the Forgotten Legacy train late...but after that ending...I will be not patiently waiting for Jazz's book. I mean seriously, who can wait after that.
L. Ann, you had no right to write this book and make it as awesome as it was! I sat down to read a few chapters today and approach this slowly as I have adhd and the smallest thing pulls my attention. I had homework today and chores to do around my house and instead I was living in Marley and Rain’s world, which is FREAKING awesome btw! I loved Marley, oh man! There are no words that capture the love I have for that magnificent man and Rain was an amazing counterpart to him. I didn’t think you could ever top or outdo the Forgotten Legacy series but you have made it equal. I still love Gabe and all those wonderful guys, but Marley 🥵🥵🥵🥵 I can’t even get my head on straight after this story. I WANT MORE! So I have 2 requests for you L. Ann, that you get this book on audiobook as quick as possible and that you write the second book quickly. I NEED IT!!! Thank you so much for this wonderful story 😁
Readers of Rockstar genre; hot sex scenes and that love story that you don’t want to stop reading about until you have finished the book (even if its the early hours of the morning). Then, Fractured Angel is the book for you. L. Ann style of writing gets you to understand the characters of Marley and Rain, their emotions as they try to figure everything out, written in a way that you can envisage the scene, especially the steamy passionate hook-ups between Marley and Rain. There is some emotional baggage which I feel L. Ann has dealt with in a sensitive manner. So, enjoy…as you are introduced to the members of Black Rosary, with snippets of Forgotten Legacy.
Not sure which member of the band is next, but I am looking forward to Jazz story.
There aren’t enough words in the world to describe how much I loved this book. I love that you get stories from the far past, recent past, and present day but it’s not confusing or back and forth. It’s straightforward and easy to follow, plus it really helps to get a full understanding of Marley and Rain’s relationship. I also LOVED the chemistry between Marley and Rain. The way he can predict her needs before she even knows what they are. These two broken rockstars are amazing as they work through the ups and downs of their relationships… Also, the 🌶 spicy🌶 scenes were PHEWWW😏 absolutely recommend this book.
This book is brilliant. With good well written characters and an addictive storyline I loved it. The performance was perfect. I’m looking forward to see what happens with the rest of the band.
This story was unexpectedly different from the first rockstars series by L. Ann. This book was more about the FMC rather than the MMC. Rain is a child pop star that is managed by a crook and her own father was the one who signed her over to him.
Marley is the lead singer of Black Rosary and co owner of his record label. He falls for Rain and they have a secret affair for 5 years.
Some stuff goes down and they part ways. She goes into hiding and after 5 years, he reaches out because his partner wants to sign her one their record label.
Their feelings for each other hasn’t changed. However, it took a bit before things got cleared up.
Great chemistry, lots of stream, and a great storyline. Another great book and an awesome start to a new series!!! Looking forward to the next one!!!
"Don't tell me not to stare at you, Tink, because looking at you brings me to life."
Okay, okay, okay, I know I always say that each leading man from this author is my top book-boyfriend, and where do I get one, yada yada yada. Well, this time, I mean it. For real. Back off ladies and gentlemen Marley Stone is mine, mine, all mine. If I have to lick him all over to stake my claim, I will, fictional man or not. I will find a way, mark my words.
It's a story like this that makes me kick my own butt that I hadn't started reading romance books until later in my life. If I were still in my 20's I so would have been on the lookout for a tatted up bad boy with a possessive streak. But, hindsight is 20/20 and there's nothing I can do about that now.
Anyway, this story was amazing. I hated Maxim, and Rain's parents. Grrr!! And don't get me started on that weasel Finlay Carter. Rain was stronger than she realized and when push came to shove, she did what she had to do. I was so routing for Marley and Rain, and my heart broke for them with everything they went through. But true love never dies, right?
Oh, and before I go? Marley is mine. End of. Back off.
Wow ! Hot and steamy I need to cool off , loved Marleys story, him and Rain definitely have some chemistry . As always I love the grittiness L.Ann adds to her stories I've been waiting patiently ( ha yeah right lol) for this book and was not disappointed.
Phenomenal! Absolutely freaking amazing! I LOVED this story. If someone would have told me a few years ago that a Rockstar story would be one of my all-time favorites, let alone a second chance, I'd have laughed at them. Then I stumbled upon author L. Ann. She is one of those authors who could make a math textbook fun and interesting.
This book was even so much more than I ever could have thought possible. Marley and Rain had an amazing connection and I loved how even through all the adversary they encountered over the years, the flame between them continued to simmer. And oh what a flame it was!
As for that ending, all I have to say to the author is "must write faster!"
Not even sure where to start unwrapping this one! Marley… well he was everything I wanted and more! When L.Ann creates a character she knows exactly what she’s doing because WOW! He is straight from every rockstar fantasy I could have dreamed up! I loved how this book dived straight into the meet up and the relationship and there was no waiting around or angst. First chapter and we meet this Rock God and a princess of the pop world with a name that made me cringe. I felt instantly on her side, internally I wanted to scream for her. For the child that had no choice and the young woman being forced along at the pace of everyone else around her. Then Marley happens and gives her that much needed breath of fresh air. Throughout the book is the journey of their relationship and the struggle Rain faces to get her freedom.
I loved these two and their story. I loved this book I can’t say that enough. I loved it even when I knew their relationship was going too good and something in my gut told me it wasn’t going to last and sure as hell in true L.Ann style there it is. The ‘what did you do’ moment. The one you’ve been waiting for but dreading and you start devouring the pages to find out what’s going to happen . Resisting the temptation to flick to the end to check it all works out. There were scenes I reread, parts I laughed but equally parts I wanted to cry. Some moments when I wished there had been more detail on certain events as I feel it would have added to the story however I understand an authors choice to leave them out.
I won’t spoil it but I can’t recommend this enough so get reading, you won’t regret it.
Marley Stone, 29, is the lead singer of Black Rosary, a world-renowned rock band, and has the bad boy reputation down pat. For ten years he and his band have been touring the world and he has yet to meet a woman he wants, exclusively. That's about to change when he meets Rain Silverman, otherwise known as Rainbow, her pop princess alter ego. Rain is 21, barely legal, but she knows what she wants and it's Marley. Their very first meet cute is more like a "meet sexy" since Rain can't keep her hands off him, particularly noticeable in the elevator. He has his wits about him because she's nearly drunk and he's not going to take advantage of her. It sets the stage for a beautiful relationship that is torn apart by the devious machinations of her record company, her manager (and her father by default), as well as her fellow singer/fake boyfriend. This is a story that takes you to both ends of the emotional spectrum, makes you sick and excites you. I felt myself holding my breath as all of the pieces of the puzzle are put together to give Rain her personal happy ending and to make sure that everyone gets exactly what they deserve. Magnificent!
* 2️⃣ 🎧 duet narration * Forbidden love ❤️ * 🥈Second chances * ⭐️ Age gap * blunt communication at the beginning, from both 🙌 (trauma changes this) * ✨Pop star and rock star 💫 * 😡🤬 Men controlling, manipulating, and abusing women, while saying it’s her fault (gaslighting) (NOT the MMC) * SPICEY 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 5/5 * 💕Amazing, mature, supportive MMC * Finding yourself and healing ❤️🩹 * 🪴Post-traumatic growth
The duet narration and narrators themselves were 10/10! They did a FANTASTIC job! Listening and reading along was the best decision, highly recommend.
This story is beautiful and devastating at the same time, typical L. Ann book. So many emotions are provoked and the realism of this story hit home. L. Ann’s writing includes so much, the depth to the plot, romance, individual characters, and overarching world they live in was incredible. Her books cover real life issues that are sooooo important. I am grateful for the attention she provides these topics.
This story had elements from Britney Spears’ child and adulthood experiences and relationships with her father and record label, Britney and Justin’s relationship (both pop stars where he was portrayed as good, she was bad), Pam and Tommy’s story (male rockstar, sex tape released and it was fine for the man but not ok for the woman), and Kesha’s ongoing experiences of manipulation and abuse by her label. Further, it covers the common themes non-famous women experience when sexually assaulted, such as why women don’t report, women being called “sluts,” how anxiety provoking and doubt filling the reporting process can be, the development of PTSD and paranoia, other mental health issues (e.g., panic, depression), and avoidance.
My heart hurt so much for both MC’s. The realistic depiction of what record companies do to their artists, particularly women was awful to listen to. The MFC was manipulated and abused, she was just trying to love and live with some level of autonomy. But of course, the standards for and treatment of women is always worse than what they are for men. The plot was highly romance focused, including how the MFC’s relationship was affected by the plot.
I was soooo excited when the book would overlap with the Forgetten Legacy storyline and characters. Intertwining the timeline was perfect, as I absolutely loved the Forgotten Legacy series. Karl continued to be one of the most amazing male side characters that receives little attention. Then, both Luca and Gabe emake an appearance. Dex’s overdose and Seth’s reaction to Riley’s age were both mentioned in this book. These little details made me smile, as this attention to detail gives more depth to the story.
I loved every moment of how the MCs met and maintained their relationship for five years (the first third of the book). These details built song a strong connection between the MC’s and I loved reading about them. I knew the label, manager, and boy pop star were snakes. I could see the manipulation happening by them and that provoked so much emotion in me, such as rage, fear, sadness, and anxiety! I knew something would trigger the MFC to lose everything, including her self-worth. I just wanted the MC’s to stay together, but knew that couldn’t happen due to what the men were doing to the MFC. She was trying her best and my heart broke.
The MMC was amazing. It was refreshing to read about a rockstar who grew up with loving and supportive parents. Because of this, he was incredibly emotionally stable and mature, leading to him being amazing and super supportive of the MFC. The MMC was understanding, patient, and always obtaining consent. He used clear and direct communication about his wants and needs, including when what he could tolerate vs not tolerate changed. He coped well with his jealousy and didn’t take it out on the MFC. I loved him and how refreshing his character was, especially how different he was in comparison to the other men in L. Ann’s rockstar series. Then, what the MMC does to get retribution for the MFC, I was swooning! Of note, he is also a very spicey man.
The MFC was also amazing. She was a strong and resilient woman. She was doing her best. I loved that, despite the record label and manager sucking her soul, she tried to set boundaries and stand up for herself, eventually telling them to screw off. When the MMC met up with the MFC 5 years later, she was so mean to him. He was nothing but nice and took the blame for their sex tape when he was not to blame; yet, when they meet up 5 years later she was mean to him. I was sad to see PTSD cause her to push him away, lash out at him, and for her to think the one person who was perfect to and for her was drugging her. This was realistic depiction of what trauma can cause. I share my emotional reaction to emphasize how well the author writes, as it pulls such strong emotions. Thankfully, again, the MMC is super mature and handled her PTSD quite well. The MMC was nothing but supportive and able to show her that she was safe. The MFC’s growth was amazing and it was so awesome to see her stand up for herself when it was the right time. The author also did an excellent job showing that not reporting is also not a wrong choice, as consequences from reporting are very real.
Ok, now, that ending? The author noted this was not a cliffhanger just a hint at what was to come in the next book. Again, what???????? I CANT WAIT!

Absolutely fantastic book I listened to this book via audio book listener. The quality and performance by Thomas Locklear and Elise Hoffman outstanding 👏🏾 👌 I would recommend this book as a great start to this series, Hot, hot...
What a beautiful story and fantastically written. I was captivated and invested in these two from the start and that only increased as the story went on. This was heartbreaking and raw, with flawed and sweet characters who were vulnerable and strong all at the the same time. This author handles trauma is such a great way, and the emotions she brings forth makes for such an amazing read.
Rain was such a wonderful character, she really had been given a raw deal in life, and just didn’t know any better -my heart broke for her so many times and seeing her in a position she didn’t know how to get out of, never being taught and used as a pawn most of her life. Seeing her stand up for herself was empowering but also brutal and brought the tears for sure.
I can’t say enough good things about Marley, that man is book boyfriend material! Protective, fierce, sexy and oh so swoony! Lead singer of infamous rock band Black Rosary and a co-owner of record label, Marley is all kinds of perfect. But even he had moments of doubt and mistrust and loved watching how that unfolded.
I loved these two from the moment they met! They had a great connection and it was so much fun to see them together and watch their relationship unfold. They truly are so opposite, but they worked and it made sense to them and no one on the outside needed to get it! Even after time apart, the connection and chemistry was still there, still undeniable- even if they were both tentative during their reunion after hearts were broken.
If you love a good rockstar romance, opposites attract with a love story spanning years-this one is for you! I highly recommend it and be sure to check out this author Forgotten Legacy series as well! I’m looking forward to Jazz’s story, book 2 in the Black Rosary series!
Fractured Angel by L. Ann is a Rock Star, second chance romance and is book one in the Black Rosary series. We first learn of Black Rosary in the Forgotten Legacy series. This is a beefy book and I never thought a leading character could surpass my love for reading all things Gabe. But Marley stone is right up there with him (Marley is a dirty talking, yummy, nice guy).
I enjoy reading second chance romances and this one did not disappoint. I wanted to slow down and savor the story but I could not put it down. This book is straight up addicting and I loved every second.
Marley Stone is the lead singer in a rock band called Black Rosary and co-owner of a record label. He is at an industry event when he notices a competing record labels poster child pop princess, Rainbow Silverman, he feels an instant attraction to her and walks over to talk with her.
I have never rooted for a couple more than I did for Marley and Rain. L. Ann sure knows how to pull a reader in right from the start—since the very first page, I was hooked. The banter between the characters was fantastic and the chemistry was scorching my kindle. I can’t wait to read about the other members of the band.
This story had everything I look for in a book, romance, super hot loving, mystery, a little danger and we get to see a smidgen of the beginning of Forgotten Legacy’s start and in later years. (Sounds like those Forgotten Legacy boys will be up to some shenanigans).
I recommend this book for all the reasons listed above but also because L. Ann is such a fantastic storyteller, I read this book 3 times before in a week, it was that good.
Marley is a hot Rockstar but he saw Rain across the bar and he had to speak to her. That she was plotting sororicide had him captivated and the fact she was drunk had him feeling protective. He whisks her away because he refuses to let anyone take advantage of her, not even himself. They were adorable together and even though he wanted the world to know they were a couple he kept the affair quiet. But five years of their hidden love had to stop, or she would lose the most important thing to her. This story has me so anxious I keep stopping because I can’t take what’s coming. It’s so sad, tragic even and I just wanted to ugly cry. The only thing that had me smiling was Forgotten Legacy characters in this book. Rain is so trapped I wanted to start a group and chant “Free Rainbow!” Just like Brittany’s fans. As a couple Rain & Marley are just hot hot hot, like melt my Kindle hot. There are so many moments I just wanted to scream, “I want a Marley of my own!” I lost it reading the puppy page, because this girl had everything and she had nothing. She totally deserved a Marley and puppy in her life. Loved that she trusted Marley when every man in her life had hurt her. The ending was absolutely delicious and I read it slowly because I didn’t want to miss a single morsel of that smorgasbord. Needless to say I absolutely loved loved loved this book and highly recommend it. Now I have to wait for Jazz’s story, especially after that epilogue.
Rain Silverman (aka Rainbow). Pop Princess. 21 years old. Bubblegum music singer. 20 years of her life spent as a role model for girls, teens, and young women as she grew up. Rainbow…disgraced popstar.
Marley Stone. Lead singer for Black Rosary. Rocker. 29 years old Bad boy rocker who is building the NFG recording label. Frontman of Fractured Angel who has a reputation as a bad boy of rock.
Two people who, on paper, are polar opposites. Two people who meet, by chance, at a corporate event and connect. Two people who have a secret relationship for five years…until it ends.
Their journey isn’t smooth and straight. It’s full of bumps and jagged twists. It’s wild and free, while being forced to stay hidden. At it’s most base level, this is a story about the love between two people. It’s also a story about the different ways people will handle that love… Does it get thrown away on a whim or for a reason? Does it remain true or does it go off course? Does it fade or does it endure?
Rain and Marley are two singers who connect. Rain and Marley are two people who love. Rain and Marley are two people who show us their depth as the story unfolds. Rain and Marley are so much more than their names and careers. Rain and Marley are two people who have an amazing story in Fractured Angel. It’s a story that unfolds in the present, while flashing to the past. It’s a story that remains with you after the last page, while calling you to come back to the beginning and read it all over again.
Fractured Angel is another rockstar romance by L. Ann, but with her amazing talent, she makes it unique from all the others and it stands on its own. Her characters always have something that shaped them into who they are, while they develop into who they will be.
