About the author

Lawrence du Garde Peach was an English author and writer of plays for radio, stage and screen. Today he may be best remembered as the author of over 30 books for Ladybird's Adventure from History series of nonfiction children's books, published from 1957 until his death, which was the largest series Ladybird ever produced, and remained in print until 1986.

فازَتْ مَدام كوري بجائزة نوبل مَرَّتَيْنِ، وَسِت جَوَائِزَ شَهِيرَةٍ أُخْرَى، وسَبْعَ عَشرة دكتوراه شَرَف، وعُضْوِيَّةِ الشَّرَفِ فِي أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ثَمَانِينَ جَمْعِيَّةً عِلْمِيَّةً في العالم كله. وعندما كانَتْ مُهَدَّدَةً بالعَمَى عام ۱۹۲۷، كَتَبَتْ قائلة: لا أَعْلَمُ إِنْ كُنْتُ أَسْتَطِيعُ الحَيَاةَ دُونَ مُخْتَبَرٍ.

كتاب نادر مصور.. سلس ومشوق جدا.

This is a well written and balanced telling of Marie Curie's life, which may be written for children but is just as interesting a read as an adult too. Each page is accompanied with a full colour illustration which brings Marie's story to life all the more. Obviously it does avoid some of the darker aspects of her life and death but who can blamae Ladybird Books for that.

قصة أكثر من رائعة لمدام كوري وهذه العالمة البولندية المثابرة الطموحة وسرد أكثر من ممتاز ربما غير مخل للأحداث المهمة بحياتها أثر علي لقراءة أكثر عن ماري كوري وذلك لكتاب ماري كوري ترجمة أحمد الصاوي بقلم ابنتها والذي رشحه الشيخ علي الطنطاوي وكتاب رجال عظام ونساء عظيمات ل ليزي ليفيت ترجمة مختار السويفي
