Nurse Jenny Carr had quite enough to do, catching up with a year's lost training.
The last thing she wanted was to get involved in a hopeless love affair -- yet that was what she did, the moment Doctor David Callender appeared on the scene.
8/10 The first time I tried this book, I didn't like it and did not finish. 6 months later, I forgot I had tried to read it and this time round, I liked it! The story is in first person from the heroine's POV. She is bitter to begin with (from a failed romance) but thaws out and becomes more humane as the story proceeds. This is because she falls for the hero, who is also emotionally scarred. The heroine and hero butt heads over their work. This is done well, as are the patients and their foibles. Very clean story too.
