Pamela Isley has been a lot of things in her life. A living god, a super-villain, an activist, a scientist, and dead. In a new body that she didn’t ask for and with a renewed sense of purpose, Ivy leaves Gotham and sets out to complete her greatest work—a gift to the world that will heal the damage dealt to it...by ending humanity. Spinning out of the pages of Batman, DC is proud to present the unbelievable next chapter in Poison Ivy’s life by the incredible creative team of G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara.
Hugo, World Fantasy and American Book Award-winning author of novels and comics, including THE BIRD KING, INVISIBLE KINGDOM, and ALIF THE UNSEEN. Co-creator of Ms Marvel. Nice horror-fueled start to Ivy’s solo series. Loved the art and G. Willow Wilson writing a Poison Ivy horror series is literally a perfect match. It’s also nice to see Ivy as a full-on villain again.
So, honestly, this is a damn good start to a solo Poison Ivy series; however, the only down side is that you have to know what happened in Catwoman, Batman, and I feel like some of Harley Quinn to not be completely lost as to why Poison Ivy is feeling the way that she’s feeling about herself and her fall out with Harley. I’ve read some of it so I wasn’t completely lost but this isn’t a #1 that’s outside of the continuity. Nevertheless, G. Willow Wilson did her damn thing with this. I’m not surprised though. The horror, the pain, the passion of Poison Ivy was captured so well. I honestly am amped to go back read what I missed out on just so I can go back read the rest of this series. Takara did a nice ass job with this artwork and Prianto came through with the coloring on this. The earthy vibes are exactly what we needed to capture Ivy’s character and the two of them together did a nice job making it work for readers. Honestly, I can’t wait to dive into more of this because I’ve been seeing some really awesome reviews.
So this number 1 is definitely not a jumping on point for anyone not well versed the recent goings on with Poison Ivy. If you haven’t read whatever it is you would need to read before this, you will be lost like me. Shame because what she is doing seems like it’s something interesting and I would love to know what that’s going to be. However, being a novice with DC I have no idea what I would have needed to read before this.
Brillant art work, which fits the eco terrorist angle really good. A marvellous balancing act between the abjectly creepy and the beauty of nature being let loose on civilisation. I’m really looking forward to the whole series.
Read a Stjepan Šejić comic with Ivy in it so I decided I need to go read a Ivy comic. Obviously a continuation to a previous series, you probably need to read that to fully understand what's happening. It gives you enough information so you have a start though. Solid like/really like for me. Art is stunning.

-The art was absolutely stunning. The story confused me a little bit, mostly towards the end.
-I’ve also never seen a comic done in this style before.
-The story was seemingly about Pam gaining back her humanity and finding her identity, but the ending seems to do a complete 180 in regards to the plot.
The art and lettering is stunning and the story? Exactly as intriguing and engaging as you’d expect from the genius, G. Willow Wilson. There are just enough crumbs here to hook me on the story while still giving me a small idea of what’s happening, and I love it. I’m so glad Ivy is getting this sort of treatment because it’s well-deserved. I can’t wait to keep reading.
The artwork is beautiful and disturbing at the same time. I think it sets the perfect tone for not only this series but Poison Ivy in general. I’m so excited to see where this one goes.
I wasn't sure what to expect from a Poison Ivy series, but this ended up being exactly what I needed it to be. Such a stellar first issue. And the art is gorgeous.
This feels of a kind with the current Swamp Thing series: exploring themes of civilization and its collapse, really gorgeous, expressive art and strikingly beautiful, almost pastel colors. It sounds like Swamp Thing will make an appearance too…
The major difference is how the story is being told, through Ivy’s detached, grimly humorous voice. The epistolary address to Harley Quinn works well to set up the overall plot and instantly gets us into Ivy’s head.
Also, the illustrations of mushrooms decomposing bodies is amazing and I want Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou to letter every book I read.
I wouldn't consider myself a Poison Ivy fan persay but this series caught my eye.
The whole thing isn't exactly my taste from the art to the style of the story being told from Ivy's journal... but I did enjoy this and do want to continue collecting the series.
