I did not finish the book after suffering through 76 pages - while highlighting key players in the payments space, the classifications and descriptions of certain key themes and trends was often erroneous or illogical. I felt myself on constant fact checker mode and stopped reading so as to prevent misinformation from infiltrating my brain

I enjoyed reading this book, which for me is the first serious attempt at covering the topic of embedded finance. It is a well-structured book, clear to read and with interesting examples of technology use to provide financial services in a more integrated way. I have also enjoyed the final chapter about the 2030 vision for embedded finance.
However... two major areas where I think the authors could have done better:
1) More depth - this should be a book for industry insiders, and therefore would warrant more depth, both technically and from a business standpoint. It seems more of an Embedded Finance 101 for the general public. For example, I am close to the industry but not an insider and I already knew most of the stuff outlined the book
2) I would have liked the book to cover the future role of banks more explicitly - will they be disintermediated? Who is likely to be more successful - banks, big tech, fintech? And why? At times the book appears like a glorification of some start-ups that are doing interesting things, without a broader discussion of the sustainability of their business model
Having said this, definitely worth reading if you have some interest in the topic, but unlikely to blow your mind if you are in the payments and finance space.

Sometimes I have to read a book that do not have great reviews in hope of finding some useful information, because there aren't better alternatives. This was one of those cases.

Saying the book is completely useless would be a bit too harsh, but the contents are quite shallow, and the authors did not have a good understanding of non-financial concepts they talked about in the book. For example, they seemed to have confused tokenization with encryption.

The word "AI" appeared in every two sentences in the last chapter, but I don't think the authors understood how it worked and why consumer purchase decisions could but are not executed by AI yet. The same is true for "the Metaverse". And of course when you see statements like "Web 3 is gaining strong traction" and "Web 3 offers clear solutions to the short comings of the web 2 internet", you know it cannot be a serious book.

Half of the book is long multi-paragraph quotes from other people.

the future of money

Visionary view of the way personal finance will evolve over the next few decades. The role that finance will play to be more equitable benefitting the folks who need the most is encouraging.

A good book for people who are already knowledgeable in the FinTech field. The book gives a very good explanation of what is embedded finance, how it looks, what are its examples and how it will evolve in the future.

interesting real life case studies and examples

There were a lot of really good case studies and a cool look to what the future could beyond just finance.

The book is very easy to ready, however if has a lot of repetition, a lot of high level pla pla pla and not so much tangible information.. it could have been a nice series of 4-5 blog posts.
