His sister's disappearance haunts Ex-Navy SEAL Beckett Callahan. For years, all roads have led to nothing but dead ends. To cope, he and his brother Birch—another ex-Navy SEAL—run Terra Search & Recovery to help other families bring closure to their pain. He even hopes to train his golden retriever Brodie to become a search dog with the Coastal Canine Unit. After multiple tours overseas, Beckett has finally managed to rebuild his life. But failing to find out what happened to his sister overshadows everything. That changes when Beckett meets Dr. Kelly Ecklund, a quirky marine biologist, in town to reforest the dying kelp beds. As sparks fly and attraction builds, is it enough to bring him out of his dark shell? Will Kelly's interest in the case open up old wounds or be the catalyst that heals an entire family?

Vickie's novels have consistently appeared on Amazon’s Top 100 lists in Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense and mystery / thriller. She writes what she loves to read -- heartwarming romance laced with suspense, heart-pounding thrillers, and riveting mysteries. Vickie loves to write about compelling and down-to-earth characters in settings that stay with her readers long after they've finished her books.

She's the author of twenty novels and numerous short stories with no plans to slow down. She's looking at a busy 2017, adding a new book, Beneath Winter Sand, to her Pelican Pointe Series and releasing a fifth Skye Cree book, Truth in the Bones. Plus, she has plans to begin a brand new series, in a brand new setting. Stay tuned for updates by subscribing to her mailing list.

Vickie writes full-time. But when she does take a break from banging out the next novel, she loves to get outside. Even though hanging out at the beach is at the top of her list, there's nothing quite like a long, soul-searching walk through the woods, daylight preferred, of course.

Another terrific book in the Pelican Pointe series. Great mystery with wonderful characters in the ideal coastal town that had its it's own special guardian angel. I just adore this series!

Dr. Kelly and Beckett's Supernatural Love Tryst!4.25***** Spoiler Alert!

Dr. Colleen/Kelly returned to replant the marsh with kelp and sunflower starfish, after witnessing CA's starfish population collapse from the viral illness due to global warming. This is so accurate, however the length discourse could have been briefer as Kelly got on her 'soapbox,' while assisting Beck to locate his long lost, dead sister. Of course Scott gave her a major hint, that led to Jade and her apprehension of the drama teacher. HEA for Kelly and Beck, plus Jade and Birk, his brother.

Fair plot, and adequate character development, with a theme of not believing everything you hear off the Internet. I was left wondering why Scott did not tell Beck and Birk about the car in the vid, and allowed the family to suffer for so long. But Scott had been protecting Kelly for over a decade, and they did save and rescue many kids over that time frame...hmmm!?! A good Summer Beach read!

Great Mystery and Romance!

This return to Pelican Pointe is full of romance, mystery, some lovable dogs, and plenty of action. I was hooked from the first page. I enjoyed reconnecting with characters from previous books in the series (although reading them first isn’t essential), and loved these new characters! It was touching to watch the relationships between Kelly and Beckett, and Jade and Birk develop, and compelling to follow as the mystery of their sister’s disappearance was unlocked. I even learned a bit about reforesting kelp beds! The book is fast-paced and engrossing and I loved it!

Fantastic Story

I love all of the Pelican Pointe books! This one was no exception. I loved the main characters, Beckett and Kelly. It was so great how they helped each other. Kelly was phenomenal in using data to find the killer. I absolutely could not put it down. I finished it in one day! I highly recommend reading the entire series and this book especially. You won’t be disappointed.

Great Read

I really like the Pelican Pointe novels by Vickie McKeehan. There is enough romance between the characters to keep me interested but she also puts in a bit of a mystery or a puzzle that I as a reader want to figure out along with the characters. I highly recommend this series, they are all really well written and very interesting to read.

Satisfying read

Yet another satisfying read in the Pelican Pointe series. I can't believe 20 years have passed in the story world. Would love to catch up with Scott's kids now that they are young adults.
Beck and Kelly made for interesting reading.
I'm patiently waiting on an update of that mad woman in prison.

Another Winner in the Pelican Point Series. I just love how the people with similar but totally different stories all seem to cross paths that end up bringing them to Pelican Point. The townspeople treat each other like family and Scott Phillips seems to be the glue that brings them all together.
