The Complete Battle Ring Earth Series Bundle is here. 1000+ pages of military sci-fi action about the defense of Earth against aliens, fighter pilots, and the last hope for mankind.
Technical Specialist Simon Brooks was no soldier. More suited for the academy than combat, his assignment to a rear echelon support squadron seemed a good fit. Everything changed when the Sleer attacked Earth’s newly salvaged spacecraft, UEF Ascension. In a flash, Brooks goes from fleeing a burning transport plane to piloting a broken mech and learning the habits of a fighter pilot from Lt Sara Rosenski, the terror of Nightmare Squadron.
But his rising star takes a hit when he learns to talk to the Sleer AI, Genukh…and suddenly the UEF doesn’t know whose side he’s on.
Now Brooks and Rosenski are stuck aboard Earth’s Sleer weapon—the Battle Ring--and they may be all that stands between Earth and its induction into the Sleer Empire…
Experience this complete Military Science Fiction Series perfect for fans of Rick Partlow, Jamie McFarlane, and Joshua Dalzelle.
Books in the Book 1: Megastructure Book 2: Colony Book 3: Grand Reversal
This was a difficult book series for me to rate. Parts of it definitely were 4 star, and other parts were regrettably 2 stars or less. Overall, I did read all 3 books in this collection, so that’s a positive. On the negative side, I did put the book down several times to just get away from it.
Pros: Good character development Lots of interesting cast with a wide variety of backgrounds Decent world building at times
Cons: Science tech was a haphazard mess, with some "magic tech" and little hard science. Multi-threaded plot lines were confusing at times, and not all story threads initiated were resolved. Many were either abandoned or diminished to nothing. The series doesn’t end with this collection - the storyline has a solid pause but is not resolved at the end of these 3 books.
Overall, this series collection is OK. The first 2 books, Megastructure and Colony, were better and less problematic than the third book, Grand Reversal. It’s as though the title of the 3rd book foreshadowed the content. I would recommend this series with some reservation. It’s up to the future reader to review and decide if they wish to take a chance on reading.
From the beginning a blazing fire ball gliding over the Pacific Northwest it looked like a meteor, but tracked wrong, it was being guided. This begins series that keeps you on your game. A group of well defined characters that are as real fan be,each one with a role that makes this story so compelling. A truly exciting reading experience.
This series has a kind of slow beginning, then it is entertaining and fun… so , good, right? Wrong! At the point when I couldn’t stand it anymore ..it was just ridiculous!! Sorry but there you have it. I think a two star rating is more than generous.
Good start ,but ends with lots of unresolved plots and feels like a series just getting started and needing several more books to flesh out the story.
If the author is going to do this then I look forward to the new chapters, otherwise it just feels like the author just lost interest and stopped writing 🫤
There were moments of brilliance here, but they were few and far between. The narrative was engaging at times but often lost focus. Some chapters were a joy to read, while others felt like a chore. It’s not a bad read, but it’s not something I’d revisit. Worth a try, but temper your expectations.
I couldn't stop the suspense was captivating, the action often intense, Brooks& Rosenski are quite a pair. The chemistry of the story line is awesome. I've gotta find more from this author. His work rivals Tolken.
This is the second time I've read these books. The first time I hungrily waited for the next. This time I was able to just keep on until the too soon completed story. I wish there was more!
Could not put this down, had to simply read the entire story all three books 😁 It grips you from the first page and the action is non stop. Loved the concept the characters the entire thing. If you like space warfare, Alien lifeforms then this is one for you 😁
Pretty good series, certainly not a epic series, but worth the read. Good characters and food plot development. Looking forward to the authors next books.
