Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

Had a real difficult time trying And ferrying this book finally just stopped trying. Couldn't quite sympathize with the characters and forgot what I'd just read.

I really enjoyed this.

It's related to the Leira Chronicles, but is also a series in it's own right, and I'm thoroughly enjoying learning about Turner Underwood's Eldest daughter, Winland.

She is a strong character, but also gentle to others who need that from her, but I see that she also has nerves of steel, once she makes her mind up about something - even if her mind is telling her it's the wrong thing to do, for survival!

I'm really looking forwards to learning more about her - and of the people she's chosen to live with, and help to protect - it looks like it's going to be a great adventure!

So, as I want to get back to the series, and start Book Two: 'Two if by Magic', then I'm off to start reading it - and I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!

Doesn't work

Your dialog and plot line are separate things. I could just go through and pick out the plot line read it and not need the rest. The dialogue is almost meaningless. I particularly, dislike the old hide the plot. Just ask someone is about to actually talk about the plot, the door suddenly bangs open. So they are distracted and you do not get back for 5000 pages. Really hate that. Have a real plot that in the blathering about meaningless. If you blather put the plot off too much. I loose all interest

Oh so good...again!!

Although this is the first from this series (nope, not read daddy's series...yet!!) You hit the story running...and you don't really stop...as per usual from this duo. Yet again, a strong leading lady (Winland) with some quirky friends...and a formidable foe. Help from unexpected angles ramps up not only the adventure but the mystery as well....yet another set I will have.to wait patiently for...

I think that this is the first book that Anderle co-wrote that I did not like.
Martha Carr is the grandmaster of stories that use building suspense around people who are not telling others things that should be told.

And I really hate that.
In this first book it has 5 separate occasions.
A dryad can only talk in riddles, people are attacked, while they are in a refugee camp, and they don't tell anybody. And so on and on on,

Loved this!

Loved the characters and the story about Tucker Underwood's daughter. A quick read, this new Oriceran story is everything I expect a Carr/Anderle book to be. The humor is right-on and despite a few editing misses, the tale flowed fairly well. I look forward to more books in this series.

Solid read

While it started off a bit slow and disjointed the story got its legs. Some good characters and an interesting story are giving me some hope for the series. I've got the whole lot loaded in the Kindle so we'll see.

I'm glad I made myself finish.

The story started off slow but picked up maybe 1/3 of the way thru. I was going to move on to another book. I'm glad I made myself finish it.

It was ok. New fixer new problems and new town to build. How to use magic when its being supressed. Interesting to see where this series heads.

Another good series

Winland is leading a group fleeing an evil magical bent on killing them all. She manages to find them a new home to build and defend, and at the same time finds a new bad guy to take on. The characters are a mixture of witches, shifters, elves and dwarves, the storyline is so good you don't want to put the book down, and there is a lot of humor and action in the story. I cannot wait to continue the series.

An exciting, new addition to the Oriceran cannon

This series takes us to whole new levels of understanding of the Oriceran universe. It’s not so much a CHANGE, as deeper explication of how the Kemana, and magic itself, truly function.

This “expansion,” if you will, began in the Evermore Chronicles and continues here. What began as a simplistic concept akin to a storage battery now, quite literally, assumes a life of its own. That’s entertaining in ways I hadn’t expected.

What’s TRULY entertaining, however, as is always the case with what I like to call The Mike and Martha Show, are the characters and their personalities. These characters really are a bunch of characters - acting up and acting out, but always stalwart and true.

More than in any other of their series, this one is truly a portrait of those personalities and less of the story itself. Let me say, that it is a beautiful portrait, at that. The interactions between these people are priceless! Perfectly depicted, it’s amusing and poignant all at once.

So pick this book up, sit yourself down and get ready to enjoy!
