He taught me that. The lessons I learned as a child still resonate in my blood; our family tree needs to remain pure in order to remain strong.
Greene roots burrow deep, and the brittle leaves that are sharp enough to cut us all down grip tightly to the branches. I know my purpose, but the problem is, how can I fulfil it when the ground is barren and the tree can’t bear any fruit? Broken branches need to be cut, but I’m not ready to give up. I refuse to surrender to the curse that our bloodline has bestowed upon me.
The old tyrant, who in one way or another is the father of us all, he would stand resolute and unshakeable. Luke is everything I want to be, and if I have to crawl my way out of the depths of the oubliette to prove myself, then so be it.
They’re a part of him too… and in the end I will show them. After all, I am still a Greene.
This story is based on the world of Inferno Series by Yolanda Olson, I highly reccommend reading Inferno before picking up Irreverent.
Ally is an International Bestselling Author who writes in the Dark Romance & Horror genres. Ally has been writing since she was a teenager, and it had been a long-time dream of hers to finally become a published author. Ally lives in Kent, in the United Kingdom, with her husband, son, and their two crazy kitties; Kian and Declan.
If you read Ally’s first Inferno World story you know Tyler’s parentage. If you haven’t, don’t fret, it does not affect this story but it is worth going back to check-out.
Since this gets asked a lot about these books I’ll start by saying, this is not a romance in the traditional sense. It is a story akin to forced marriages amongst royalty designed to maintain pure bloodlines. Is there still love? That’s up for interpretation. Tyler, in his own way, does love his wife. I found him to be sweeter than most Greene men. He’s also very lenient with his wife versus the IDGAF about your feeling nature of others.
When Tyler is forced out of the nest, as all Greene men ultimately are, he settles into his new life with his parents cousins. As fate would have it, Aunt Sara doesn’t live for long and cousin Cassia becomes Tyler’s wife. We walk alongside this married couple as they try to procreate and fulfill their obligations. We see a new oubliette being dug and are refreshed of how punishments in this family a doled out.
Ultimately it was that special cameo near the end that made my heart soar!! As a fan of the original series, I adore anytime there are direct connections and crossover characters.
Genre: Horror Type: Standalone Novella from Inferno World POV: First Person - Dual Rating:
Tyler understood what it meant to be a Greene. Now ready to lead his own family, he chose Cassia to continue the bloodline. But things didn't exactly go as planned, and getting help could give them more trouble than they were willing to face.
This story injected some freshness into the characters and the plotline compared to a typical Inferno World book. Even though it didn't feel as taboo, I liked the story direction and how it ended.
Pride skitters through me at the thought of continuing my father’s legacy, and when I pull out, a deep part of me hopes that this time I’ll have succeeded.
Irreverent is a story of validation. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a short taboo horror read.

Welcome back to the Inferno World through the eyes of Ally Vance. Tyler moves into his cousins house to learn what it means to be a Greene man. When his aunt passes, Cassia becomes his wife. The cycle of trying to be what Pater wants him to be, or what he believes he needs to be to follow his father's footsteps, plays out as Cassia suffers the abuse, especially when she can't seem to conceive. The twist comes when an apparent savior comes at the end, but is she really safe when she carries the name Greene now? Another amazing installment!
I've never read anything from this author, but now I for sure want to 😉 read these last few books within the Inferno World a little bassackwards but was still as good as the rest of them!
