What would you do if the person in the casket isn't your beloved friend?
The ladies at the Books & Bangs reading club are about to find out.
They like to get together once a month and discuss murder mystery novels. When the founder of the club, Vera Rogers, doesn't show up one Wednesday for book club, the other nine ladies find themselves in the midst of a real-life murder mystery. Are their lives in danger as well?

Oh my what a fun book. Of course about reading books in a book club.
It was a blast seeing Terry Toler unabashedly plugging his other books in this novella. I signed up for his newsletter because I want to read more. This book is short and was such a quick read. The only reason it took me 2 days, was I started it late in the day. I did have to sleep, my hubby makes me. Using this for our library challenge for features one of my hobbies.
Cute short story about ladies in a book club who look for their missing friend. When they are told she has died, they go to the funeral home but it is not her in the casket. They get to the bottom of the mystery by using tips from their favorite author’s heroine. Zany fun with a villainous twist. *I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via book funnel. All opinions are mine alone.*
Cliff Hangers: The Book Club (The Book Club Mysteries), my first read from author Terry Toler I own sixteen of this author’s books and after reading this one all I’m on a mission to read the ones I already own and see where I go from there. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with The Book Club Murder (The Cliff Hangers Mystery #8) next on my TBR list. The ladies of the Books and Bangs book club are shocked when one of their member’s ex husband is murdered, these madcap ladies are on the hunt to find out who did the deed. The author cleverly has the book club reading his books and taking tips from one of his heroines. Mysterious and not quite resolved m hence the subtitle: Clif Hanger. Enjoyable story. *I received a complimentary copy if this book from the author via book funnel. All opinions are mine alone.*
After reading Terry Toler's Save the Girls, I signed up to follow the author and received this novella as a free download. It is a charming and suspenseful introduction to Terry's (Cliff Hangers) series. Looking forward to reading the full set.
This book is funny and fun of adventure. Around every corner the book club ladies fine adventure and trouble. It also has so funny moments. A must read and easy read with only 6 chapters.
This is my first book by this author. This is a quick, easy read with funny moments, a mystery to solve, and adventurous. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.
I have never read any of Terry Toler's book series, but I love book clubs, so I thought I would give this one a try. This book was so fun and entertaining to read that I will definitely read another book by Terry Toler. The book club characters were so fun and enjoyable and loved the camaraderie of the group when they had to come together to find their book reading partner. Nice quick read to read in between longer books.
I totally loved this book. The ladies in the club were so real. Just like friends I'd want, they truly cared about each other. Discovering someone else in the casket, they set off to find their friend. Their antics along the way are laugh out loud funny, but they were determined to find their friend. I would recommend this series to anyone and everyone.

Oh My Gosh!!!!! What a hilarious story. 😂🤣🤣🤣 I just imagine all those old ladies doing all that stuff, and my mind flies imagining at all the old ladies from my mom book club 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 in the same scene. 😂🤣
Was a quick, enjoyable and hilarious read. You won't regret it.
This one was a real surprise… I’ve owned this book for a while, but just got around to reading it (The title doesn’t sound very captivating?). However, the plot was pretty awesome… the wrong body in a closed casket funeral and a ladies reading book club uncovers the crime and solves the mystery! It’s a fun read and HIGHLY ENTERTAINING.
This book was great. I really enjoyed it a lot. It was funny and action packed. These ladies were so funny but had minds like a detective because of all the books they read. This book is definitely worth reading.
The mystery is cute, but i cringe so hard at the blatant self promotion of the author's other books. At first, it looks like just a passing mention as a potential new book for the club members. Weird, but okay. Then, on last third of this story, annoyingly, the author's other books (specifically, the character from it) mentions repeatedly and praised by the ladies as next big thing since slice bread.
Very enjoyable read. When the book club members find a member of their club does not show up for a meeting and they investigate and find out she is dead, they immediately go to the funeral parlor to investigate since none of them can believe this is true. When they find out at the funeral parlor that her daughter has left instructions that there will be no viewing, no service, and no invited guests to the grave site, the book club truly can't understand what has happened. In spite of the daughter's wishes, the book club looks into the coffin to say goodbye to their good friend. Alas, the body is not that of their friend. The mystery continues.
The Book Club Murder (The Book Club Mysteries), my second enjoyable read from author Terry Toler I own sixteen of this author’s books and after reading this one all I’m on a mission to read the ones I already own and see where I go from there. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with The Book Club Rescue (The Book Club Mysteries) next on my TBR list. A short, quick, enjoyable novella involving the death of an ex-husband of one of the book club ladies. Was his death accidental or intentional, and who did it? Was it his wife or ex-wife and why? This mystery novella has corny jokes and humor in addition to the mystery.
