Summer Hate

Rate this book
He was the last person I wanted to see on my girls trip, let alone share a room with.

Donovan Fitzroy is grumpy. Irritable. Annoyingly perfect. And as handsome as he is uptight. He’s also my best friend’s older brother.

My bestie promised me a relaxing week at her family owned resort, but when I got there all I got was an apologetic phone call and a promise that her brother would take care of me. Only Donovan couldn’t be bothered to give me the time of day. He never has. But as much as I would love to tell him to shove his hospitality where the sun don’t shine, I’m exhausted. I can survive one night sharing the same room with him and leave in the morning.

Only when morning comes, Donovan needs help. With a week packed full of weddings, a big summer bash, and no event coordinator, he’s in over his head. I should walk away. I should absolutely go home and never have to lay eyes on him again. But he doesn’t think I can do it and I would love nothing more than to prove him wrong.

The more we work together, the more I notice his innocent touches. The way his eyes darken when they rake over my body. The way he whispers my name in the dark. Getting involved with him would be a bad choice.

But I’m not known for my good decisions.

"From what I remember, you're a real pro at walking away."
As you all know, I love second-chance stories. Best-friend's brother is also a personal favorite. To top it off, I also love good banter, and this was great.
So, thank you, Melissa for taking me out of the funk I was in yesterday with this novella!

"It's not for lack of bedmates. I just haven't found a man who wow me beyond the size of his dick."
This was all about the heroine for me. I absolutely adored her sass, her fierceness, and that she gives as good as she gets. Violet is not pleased that her best friend ditched her on their holiday and now she has to deal with Donny, her brother, at his resort, and that she has to stay in his room.
Does she like him? No. Is it a long story? Yes. Is she right about all her assumptions about him? Well... not really.
And does Donny take her crap? Nope. Even when she goes out of his way to annoy him, it's more like... foreplay. I was there for all of it.

"She consumes me, and I fucking burn for her."
When Donny ends up needing her at the resort, things take a turn, and all that tension turns to straight-up heat.
And yeah, maybe their summer hate is not hate at all.

This is the PERFECT summer romance. This novella may be short, but it definitely packs so much heat, banter and heart that this author is known for. Plus with the perfect amount of angst and a second chance romance, how could I not love it?

Violet has always been infatuated with Donovan, her best friends older brother. But after a night where passions finally combusted, only for Donovan to walk away leaving Violet embarrassed and hurt, she definitely doesn't want anything else to do with him. But when she finds herself stranded for the night at the resort Donovans family owns a few years later, she's ready to be the one who walks away this time, but he convinces her to stay, and in the end she helps him with his business and proving to his family (mainly his snotty mother) that he is the best person for this job. As these two work together, their snark quickly turns into the most intense flirting ever, and all that hurt and longing falls away, and they truly fall for each other in the best of ways. But will this finally be their time? Or will they forever be destined as almost lovers?

My girl Violet was my favorite part of this book. She's Sassy, strong, independent and yet so warm and inviting. When she loves, she loves hard, and I adored how she was with Donovan. Plus donny gives as good as he gets, and really becomes her rock. I just loved this couple!

I can't wait for his sisters book -- and honestly just more from this wonderful author-- but if you're in the mood for a light, sexy summer romance with all the feels, this is definitely for you!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

I hate that after all these years, he’s still the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen. I hate that my body reacts to him at all. I want to punch myself in the face. Again.

heads up - this review may contain spoilers!!

GENRE: contemporary romance
TROPES: forced proximity // second chance // friends to enemies to lovers // best friend's brother
POV: dual
CLIFFHANGER: no
HEA: yes

Such a cute and fun, steamy novella full of all of my favorite tropes!

the tension and chemistry between Donovan and Violet was there straight away. I LOVEEEE the second chance trope because that usually means angst and arguing and sass. Violet was smart and saucyyyyyy. NOT just a socialite. She immediately let Donny know that he did her wrong in the past and she hasn't forgotten 😌 And Donny, well, he tried to stay away and distance himself, but we all knew that wasn't going to last!

See, I knew Violet staying here was a bad idea. I’m already preening like a male peacock, and I haven’t even left my couch.

I can't say too much because it was a short story, but it was everything I needed in a small little package!

can't wait for Natalie and Hudson's story! 😍

This book was 𝐒𝐎 good!! It's sweet, sexy, and quick read. I really loved the dynamic between Violet & Donovan. She 𝘚𝘏𝘖𝘜𝘓𝘋 hate him for what happened all those years ago but he's so sexy, she cannot. And Donovan is just putty in her hands. This made for a wonderful story. I'd definitely like to read more from the Author.

Violet Camden is looking forward to a week-long vacation with her best friend, Natalie, at the lake resort Natalie's family owns in Virginia. Unfortunately, she arrives to learn that Natalie has not only canceled on her at the last minute, she hasn't bothered to make reservations for them in advance. With the resort completely booked, Violet is forced to ask her former crush and current mortal enemy, Natalie's brother Donovan "Fitz" Fitzroy, for help. He reluctantly invites Violet to spend the night with him in his cabin. Violet plans to leave the next morning until she learns that Fitz is planning the resort's annual end of summer party by himself in the events coordinator's absence. She impulsively offers to help him, mainly to prove that she's not the brainless socialite he seems to think she is. Fitz can't afford to turn down her help; if the party isn't a success, his mother will demote him and take back control of the resort for herself. Will he be able to resist the temptation of having his sister's beautiful best friend in such close proximity?

I really enjoyed this fun, steamy enemies-to-lovers romance. Violet and Fitz had fantastic chemistry and I loved their verbal sparring. They certainly knew how to keep each other on their toes! I was also intrigued by several of the secondary characters, particularly Natalie and her football player roommate Hudson. Hopefully we'll see more of them in the author's upcoming football series.

Overall, "Summer Hate" was the perfect read for a hot summer afternoon, and I'd recommend it for all fans of steamy contemporary romance. Be sure to have a fan and cold drink nearby as you're reading - you'll probably need them! ;-)

Violet Camden. His little sister’s best friend - and the one girl he’s never been able to get out of his head. Donovan Fitzroy lives for his job, and when his event coordinator backs out of the biggest, most important party of the year, Donovan is scrambling. Enter Violet, who promises to step up and handle the party with ease. Although Violet swears she hates him, she didn’t hesitate to step up and help him out. As Violet pours her heart and soul into the planning, Donovan finds it harder and harder to remember why he can’t have her.

Oh my gosh. I absolutely adored this short little novella! Violet and Donovan’s relationship was extremely well written, and I was rooting for them since the very beginning! I loved watching Violet knock down Donovan’s walls without even trying. And Donovan! He’s such a sweet man, he definitely makes mistakes but he does it with the best intentions. He also had a dirty talking dominant side I wasn’t expecting, but was definitely here for! Violet and Donovan’s chemistry was fiery and instantaneous, despite the years that had gone by without them seeing each other. I highly recommend!

Summer Hate by Melissa Ivers is a novella forming part of a larger multi author stand alone book series called Mountain Ridge Resort.

In this book we meet Donovan and Violet.
Donnie is her best friends brother who runs the resort, she goes to stay at and having been stood up by her best friend chaos ensues.

I loved that despite the short length of this book, we got to see both insight into their history as well as seeing their present day antics.

I laughed out loud in parts of this book, Violet was hilarious at ruffling Donnies feathers. Seeing their connection spark to life with all this sexual tension floating around was super satisfying.

This book is the perfect quick, cute summer read, with another Ivers deliciously grumpy hero and the heroine who isn’t afraid to push those buttons as easily as tweaking a nipple.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Summer Hate by Melissa Ivers is a romantic short story. It's part of the Mountain Ridge Resort series.

It's such a fun and steamy story. A mix between enemies to lovers and second chance romance. It might be short but it packs a lot of emotion and lust. The storyline is very nice, the romance is fast-paced, and it's easy to follow and very addictive. From the first page, you understand that this book will have you entertained and leave you hot and bothered. The chemistry between the characters was epic. Their constant fighting and insulting were their foreplay but when they made it to the bed it was like a show of fireworks.

If you want to have a relaxing and fun afternoon then choose this book. I will rate it with 5 stars.

“It looked like you hit yourself in the face pretty hard. Wasn’t sure if you were delusional.”
“One of us must be if you think I’m staying with you tonight.”

The back and forth between Violet and Donnovan throughout this book is brilliant.
They have unresolved issues after he left her embarrassed and hurt a decade ago... and it seems its time to sort their 💩 out. No matter how much they don't want to.

This is another great novella from the Mountain Ridge Resort multi-author collection.
I knew I'd enjoy it anyway because I love Melissa's writing, and I was definitely not disappointed!
Definitely highly recommend reading for a quick, steamy summer read ❤️

Summer Hate is more like Summer Love. This book needs to be on your summer reading list. If this is your first time reading a book from Melissa, I can guarantee that you will be hooked. Donovan and Violet were spicing things up between them. The tension was hot.

This cattiness between Donovan and Violet was entertaining. It just made things that much sweeter when these two finally hooked up. You have heard the saying about..."makeup s#x". Although, I am not surprised by the heat as I have read a handful of books by Melissa and know she can really bring the spice. This enemies to lovers book is just what I needed.

WOW!! I couldn't put this one down. I absolutely love it!! This was a nice quick, short read.

Donovan and Violet have know each other for a while, she is his sister's best friend. When they were teenagers before Donovan left for college they kissed but he told her he didn't want her. Now Donovan's sister Natalie sets them up telling her best friend to meet her at her brother's resort. Violet and Natalie live in Nashville, the resort is in Virginia. When Violet arrives she finds out that Natalie isn't coming, she thinks she should just get back on the road and go back home, but then Donovan is knocking on her window. He tells her he doesn't have any cabins available. When she tells him she'll just go back home, he tells her he can't let her, it's getting dark out. He offers his cabin, he'll just sleep on the couch. He tells her to make herself at home and she does. Violet spreads her clothes out all over his bed. When he comes in the cabin and sees her things all over the place he asks her if she has to have her clothes all over his room. After he gets a phone call she can tell he wants to ask her something, when he finally tells her. His events planner isn't coming and he needs to plan an end of the summer bash. Violet offers to help him plan the event, he doesn't take her seriously, but she tells him she can do it. When Donovan wakes the next morning, Violet is already awake, she's made coffee. He's not a morning person and she soon figures that out. They spend the day together going to winery's to find a partner for the resort. When they finally find the prefect winery to partner with, they are lift alone on the porch. Violet is listening to her earbuds when Donovan comes to asks her if she's alright. When she pulls them out she tells him she is trying to settle on the entertainment, but she has some ideas for him. She asks him to dance but he tells her he doesn't. So she takes his hand, they start dancing together but he's too stiff. So Violet s presses her back to his front, and she starts to sway to the music. She leans in when she thinks he's going to kiss but, then she realizes he's not kissing her back. When Violet pulls away Donovan asked her if she just kissed him. Violet tells him she's had too much wine and to forget about it. Donovan tells her he can't, he's been dreaming of kissing her for over a decade. They are kissing when it starts to rain out but neither one realizes it. When they pull away he asked her if she knows it's raining, she tells him she just realized it. Donovan tells Violet they should head back to the cabin, he tells her there are things he wants to do to her. She asked him does that mean no more running, and he tells her he's not stupid enough to say no to her twice. They run through the rain after they get to the resort and rush inside his cabin, he stripped her of her clothes and lays her on the bed. He strips himself of his clothes and climbs into bed with her. Violet finally tells him her idea for the end of summer bash and he thinks it's a great idea. They spend the next several days together, planning the summer bash. When his mother comes to check up on him, she questions him on if he can pull this off. His mother belittles Violet telling him to never get involved with her she'll just drain him of his money. Violet hears what his mother says, so she goes back to the cabin and packs her things. His mother needs a place to stay and she know she'll be staying with her son. Donovan comes back to his cabin and finds Violet gone, with a note. In the note she tells him she's left, she knows he didn't defend he to his mother, so therefore she's leaving, no need to ever bring it up, it's just a fling they had and now it's over. Violet goes back to Nashville to her best friend, Natalie, Donovan's sister. She wants to give her hell for doing this to her but finds her in bed sick, so she stays to take care of her. At the end of the summer bash, Donovan thinks everything is perfect. He feels that Violet should be here enjoying this as well, so he goes to her. His mother stops him asking him where he's going. Donovan finally tells his mother who planned this fantastic party. He tells his mother he is going to be with Violet, but she asks him if he's going to throw it all away for her. Donovan tells his mother that yes he is because he's been in love with her for over fifteen years. When he arrives in Nashville he realizes he doesn't know where Violet lives so he goes to his sister's and finds Violet's car there. When he goes to knock Violet opens the door, she asks him what he's doing there. He tells her it doesn't mean anything to him because she's not there. Violet asks him what about his mother. Donovan tells her he set her straight, he should have stayed with Violet all those years ago, instead he ran scared. She asks him what does this mean for his future and he tells her she is his future. Violet tells him she loves him and he can't believe she said it first, but he tells her he loves her. Donovan's sister comes and finds them kissing, he tells her he's stealing her best friend because he loves her. The next summer, his mother gave him the resort with no contingencies, also apologied and they invested in a hotel in Nashville they are renovating. At the end of this years summer bash Donovan plans to ask Violet to marry him, he wants to give her the hotel as an engagement present.

Summer's second chance at love

Part of the Mountain Ridge Resort series by multiple authors, SUMMER HATE by Melissa Ivers was a quick, fun, steamy, easy to read, second chance story. Violet Camden and Donovan Fitzroy certainly knew how to pack a punch (literally in Violet's case). As with all her books, Melissa brings some great banter, a little drama, and some hot steaminess to her story. It you've read Melissa's Nashville Devils series, then you would remember Violet from Broody Devil, I liked her then ... I love her now.

Ten years ago Donovan broke Violet's heart, left her humiliated, and she's hated him ever since. For Donovan she's the girl he let get away, the girl he's never been able to forget. Fate brings them back together when Violet's best friend, Donovan's sister, withdraws at the last minute from their weekend away at the Fitzroy's resort, leaving her stuck with no rooms available anywhere. Enter Donovan, the man Violet despises, who offers to help her out. Donovan is still affected by Violet. Will he be able to restrain himself from doing anything, or will he take the chance he should have ten years ago?

I adored the chemistry that sparked between Violet and Donovan, it was instant and hot. Violet was full of sass and very feisty, she knew how to stand her ground, she also knew when to let go. Donovan was sweet, but he also had that alpha devilness about him that had me swooning. There were many laugh aloud moments, plenty of sexual tension, and their constant fighting was their own style of foreplay ... the explosion waiting to happen.

Even though this is a novella, Melissa has packed so much into it; emotion, character development, drama, fun, and plenty of sexual tension. A great read while lying on a summer beach or sitting by a winter fire.

“My relaxing vacation has turned into a trip to the third circle of Hell.”

I love every single book Melissa has written so far, and this novella is no different. Donovan and Violet have history, a past that didn’t end so great. Because of this, there is animosity, hate, but also attraction and feelings that never completely went away. I enjoyed their banter, the flirty push and pull between them. But I really love when they started to give in to each other and risk it all.

“Donovan is always too controlled; I want to be the one to make him snap.”

Summer Hate has the perfect amount of angst, leaving us wanting more and turning the pages to see how it’s going to play out. Donovan and Violet’s story flows perfectly. We get to experience the “hate” they have for each other evolve into something so much more, as well as witness everything in between that gets them there.

This friends-to-enemies-to-lovers story is the perfect short & sweet Summer read!! Don’t miss out. Grab your copy today!! You’re going to love it!!

With this novel, Melissa Ivers delivers a hot   best friend's brother short story.
Violet had a crush on her friend Natalie's brother for a long while , but she tried to get over it when he rejected her years ago.
In a twist if fate, she arrives at his family resort, with a misunderstanding and without a place to stay, all orchestrated by her one true friend.

"The back-and-forth insults we trade like baseball cards are feeling less like personal attacks and more like flirting. "

Staying even a night in the same place as Donovan, makes her want to run fast, but it's the only solution.
The story is highly entertaining, so many witty and funny lines I was laughing out loud during their bantering .

Being in the same place as adults is different than the attraction Donovan felt ten years ago. He was a boy with a plan, now he is a man with a future, one he wanted to share with the woman he always liked.

"His fingers tighten around my chin ashis lips crash into mine. This kiss isn't soft or gentle. It's aggressive and brutal......It's a kiss fueled with ten years worth of hatred and desire. "

Donovan is painted as a boring office guy by Violet, but behind closed doors, he showed her a side of him she didn't think existed. Both if them were surprised by the other, sometimes you might know someone for years , yet not know them at all.
The pacing was really steady including all aspects of a love story, the sexy times were extremely hot as usual with the author.
If your looking for your next summer read, I recommend you pick this one up.

Review: 4/5 ⭐️
Steam: 2/5🔥

#summerhate is an all new Novella by @melissa_ivers_author

Donovan is trying to prove himself to his mother that he can run the resort the family owns. Everything going swell until his little sister’s best friend shows up. What once was a potential thing between them fizzled years ago and they’ve avoided each other since. So now she’s around, and all he wants is her gone. Until he needs her help.

Violet had crushed on her best friends brother years ago, until he ran away from her like a bat outta hell. Avoiding him had been her best option. So her bestie books a vacation for them, she’s ready to party. Until said bestie cancels. Now she’s stuck with the one man she can’t stand. Aggravating him is half the fun, but when he needs her, now she wants to prove him and everyone else wrong, there’s more to her than meets the eye.

This book is a super cute, sassy with a dash of spice novella. If you love a best friends brother, second chance-ish, with a side of enemies to lovers then this book is for you. I loved Violet and her sassy attitude, but also Donovan and his determination. It’s a short and sweet review to avoid giving anything away! Definitely recommend.

Melissa Ivers drew me in and didn’t let me go until I reached the last page of Summer Hate, a novella in her Mountain Ridge Resort series. This is a forced proximity, enemies to lovers, best friends’ brother romance. Donovan, Violet’s best friend’s brother, manages the family owned Mountain Ridge Resort. Expecting a girl’s weekend, Violet discovers that not only has she been stood up by her best friend, but she failed to make a reservation for them on one of the busiest weekends. Donovan offers to share his cabin with Violet. Then chaos ensues. These two had a history and were constantly fighting and insulting each other, almost like it was foreplay. When they did make it to the same bed not only did sparks fly but their chemistry could set off the resort’s fireworks. When things go off the rail, Donovan will need to make some life altering choices if he wants a future with Violet.
I highly recommend the wonderful and enjoyable short story Summer Hate by Ms. Ivers to other readers and look forward to reading more books by her.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book prior to purchase.

Absolutely loved Donovan and Violet's story. Talk about angst, hate to love and at the same time laughs and love. Ms. Ivers gives us all the feels with this one. Summer Hate is exactly the perfect summer read for the frenemies to lover, second chance readers. I could not put this down.

Violet thinks that she is having a girl's vacation but her bestie backs out and now she is stuck at the resort that her best friend's family owns and unfortunately Donovan runs. Why is it unfortunate? Well, there is a history there but he is hot and boy does he have some serious arm porn. Violet can't wait to get out of there but when Donovan needs help she is the first one there to help. This is where the sparks start to ignite and feelings come to the surface. The push-pull and banter that happens between the two of them gives us a few laughs.

Donovan and Violet's story is addictive and so well written that you just fall in love with the two of the. It doesn't hurt that Donovan is swoon-worthy and Violet is a force to be reckoned with. The two of them together are like fire and gasoline. I highly recommend picking up Summer Hate and thoroughly enjoy a fantastic summer read.

Donovan, Donovan… Oh my Donavan 🤤. Now that’s a man I could easily fall for. The best friend’s older brother is one of my favorite tropes. Violet’s long-time crush on Donavan turned into anger when he rejected her years ago. So what does she do now that she’s stuck at Donovan’s family resort… sharing a room? What a great set up for some serious sexual tension, especially now that they are living and working in close proximity! And Donovan’s uptight reserved manner is a perfect pairing with Violet’s upbeat attitude.

“...I just assumed he was getting a more decorative stick to replace the one shoved directly up his ass while enjoying a glass of wine.”😆

Ivers has already become an automatic read for me. Her writing style is engaging, fun and uncontrived. Sounds weird to say but I feel like she’s in my head and it makes the story seem that much more believable with characters that I can relate to. She has a talent to write a novella that packs it all in without it feeling like the story is being rushed. Another 5 star from me.

This novella is part of the Mountain Ridge Resort series which includes multiple authors.

The last thing Violet wanted to deal with was her best friend’s brother, Donovan. Violet and Natalie were supposed to be on a girl’s weekend away from Nashville until Violet arrived and found out that there was no place to stay at the resort that Donovan runs for the family. He offers to let her stay the night and then she will head back to Nashville. All good plans end up getting changed when Donovan ends up needing Violet’s help. As these two navigate trying to work together they both realize so much more about the other than they ever knew.

I loved getting Violet’s story. She may appear to be all high class, but this girl knows her way around making things look amazing without too much effort. Pushing Donovan’s buttons are just an extra benefit for her. Donovan has a one-track mind and has solely been looking at his future job and not anything else around him. He wants to prove that he is great at what he does no matter the cost. These two are straight fire and it only burns hotter when they collide.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely loved this book. I love Violet so much, she’s hilarious and was constantly cracked me up, especially when she is intentionally doing things to annoy Fitz. The banter between these two is top notch and I couldn’t wait to see what would come out of their mouths next. The chemistry and sexual tension between Violet and Fitz is off the charts and you can definitely tell that it has been brewing for years. I’m not going to lie, I kinda wanted to smack Fitz upside the head a few times, but once he came to his senses and stopped running from what was between them I totally fell for him. As much as I loved this book I would have loved to have seen what Melissa would have done with it had it been a full length book and not a novella. I can’t wait to see what Melissa gives us next…I just have one request. Can you please give me a parent that I actually like, you know, since you tend to write parents that I despise? 😂😂

That last part aside if you want a quick, fun, and entertaining read, with plenty of spice…give this one a try.

Violet is meant to be going away with her best friend to stay at her family's resort, that is run by her friends older brother Donovan. Her friend pulls put last minute and when she arrives Donovan informs her there are no rooms available , and offers her to stay with him since its too late at night for her to drive home.

Violet was meant to leave the next morning but when Donovans event planned has a family emergency that leaves no one to organise the resorts summer party for the following weekend, Violet offers to help.

Donovan rejected Violets advances years ago and Violet is still holding a grudge. The attraction is still there between them and you could feel the sexual tension through the pages with their flirty banter.

For a Novella it has the perfect amount of angst and steam and is a quick fun read!!

This book is a part of the Mountain Ridge Resort Series, with each book a shirt story by different authors.

I really enjoyed this grumpy/sunshine, best friends brother, enemies to lovers novella. It was short and I also read it fast because it captured my attention from the beginning! Loved the characters and even wished it was a full length novel. They already were amazing like this and I probably would have fallen in love even more if it was longer and had more time to get to know them. That said, it is great how much the author did with a short story. I just loved how these characters were with each other. Enough heat and tension with the main characters that make it into an amazing summer heat. The connection between the characters was just very good, you could also feel there was unfinished business between them.

This short story had everything you could want and more. Donovan and Violet have a history because he is her best friend’s brother and her long-time crush. They almost had a moment years ago, but Donovan shut that down quickly for his own reasons that left Violet heartbroken and mad. Violet is back at Donovan’s family resort expecting a fun weekend getaway with her best friend, what she isn’t expecting is for her friend to cancel and to have to come face to face with the man she doesn’t want to ever see again. Donovan thought that walking away from Violet years ago was the best thing e could do so he could focus on his future, but now that she is back in his life, he is starting to rethink things. As these two spend time together, work together that fine line between hate and attraction blurs, but could it ever become more, or will Donovan let Violet go again? This quick read was so much fun and very steamy, I loved it!!!

Melissa nailed it with this novella.

Violet is Donovan’s little sister, Natalie’s,bestie and said little sister and Violet are to meet up at the resort Donovan is running that has a huge summer party at the end of the week. However, Natalie cancels and Violet runs in to Donovan who informs her that all is booked. So he offers for her to stay with him. The past is brought up and tension is high. Keeping to one’s self is impossible and Violet still holds a grudge for Donovan walking away years ago.

This book was short, sweet and steamy. A quick read that didn’t lack in plot or in bedroom. I love how Melissa is able to give you everything you want of would read in a full read but she doesn’t it in a novella.

I loved Donovan and Violet’s relationship. They had a past. One which neither entirely got over. Violet took no shit and have it to Donovan for face value and he lived for it.

This was such a fun and sexy story filled with tension, banter, and plenty of steamy moments that had me waiting in eager anticipation for Violet and Donny to give in!

Violet and Donovan don't have the best history but, when they find themselves stuck together at his families resort, the feelings that they have always had for each other begin to resurface. Their forced proximity finally gives them the chance to confront ten years of hatred, desire and longing .....

They say that there's a fine line between love and hate and when those lines begin to blur for Violet and Fitz, will will they let go of the past and take the chance to
find their happily ever after....

There's nothing I love better than a good enemies to lovers story and I've gotta say that Melissa just nailed it in this summer short read! Get this one on your TBR NOW! It's a gem you won't want to miss! 😘❤️

Summer Hate by Melissa Ivers is an enemies to lovers best friend’s brother romantic short story. This book is one out of 25 love stories of the Mountain Ridge Resort series.

Violet gets abandoned by her best friend at her friends ranch and encounters her best friend’s older brother Donovan. Violet has been avoiding Donovan for the past decade. Donovan needs help with coordinating an end of summer party and Violet decides to help him.

This is a great quick sweet and steamy short story. I love how Donovan is bossy in bed as uptight he is. Donovan and Violet have great banter together. The connection between this book and Melissa Ivers other series The Nashville Devils was really clever. I recommend if looking for a awesome quickie summer romance.
