This Book is a great way to learn to purify your nous. Amazing things happened to me as I put into practice The Jesus Prayer. Every Orthodox Catechumen should read this. Priest should do a study for their Parishioners. It is excellent.

Lots of wisdom and practical advice in this book! I especially loved all the stories in bold print about real-world examples of those who prayed the Jesus prayer. A bit clunky in parts because it is translated from Greek, and could be better organized with section headings, etc.

This book recounts the power of prayer of how it takes darkness into light. Prayer has the power to turn your life better but also shows how sneaky and convincing the devil can be and how the devil can trick you into believing you're speaking to god when you are not.
