Sienna Nealon returns to Nashville after a six month absence to find everything has gone straight to hell. Among the problems waiting for her are street gangs run amok, and after an incident at a mall, local officials are desperate for a solution to the violence.
Unfortunately, Sienna's arrival heralds more violence, not less, and soon she's in a race against time to stop a gang war before the fallout destroys the whole city.
Robert J. Crane was born and raised on Florida's Space Coast before moving to the upper midwest in search of cooler climates and more palatable beer. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in English Creative Writing. He worked for a year as a substitute teacher and worked in the financial services field for seven years while writing in his spare time.
Sienna has made her way back to Nashville just in time to witness the plague of meta human criminals rising up. Settling old scores fast, dirty and permanently with their newfound meta human skills.
Sienna gets called to the site of a huge mall that has been destroyed by two factions of gangland metas. The following day there are reprisals against the gangs. Leaving Sienna to try and unravel it all.
Loved the cameo from Hades and Odin! As an aside I’d just like to bring attention to the utterly brutal epilogues in recent books. Really, really brutal! Well played Mr Crane, well played indeed.
As always Mr Robert J. Crane continues to surprise us with new ways to entertain us as Sienna battles the good fight, bringing others to her way of thinking. Old characters have a habit of reappearing when you least expect them. Just when you think Sienna can't be brought lower we the readers are zapped with a new surprise. 5 stars being short but sweet. However I missed the snarky Sienna of the past.
Just when you think you know what to expect from a Sienna book, Mr Crane goes and takes what you expect, sets it on fire, and gives it back to you.
This is not a gentle, mid-arc filler. This is in your face, full on action. But with a spin. There are, after all, still some things which give Sienna pause.
As long as he keeps writing em like this, I will keep reading em.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced ready copy of this book.
I like how the story breaks into another character’s life (won’t spoil it) and the theme of this book was interesting. I’m from LA so crips and bloods Is nothing new. Sad way to live but a harsh reality of life. I enjoyed the ending. Especially the way we were left hanging about the “other” significant characters. Can’t wait for the next installment of this series!!!
Argh. It's over till the next one. This is probably my favorite book series. Wish it was a movie but I guess I'll have to settle for the images in my head. Mr. Crane is never going to sell the rights cuz Hollywood would mess it all up but one can dream... one thing, if the author ever looks at these reviews, please keep Sienna in Nashville! I love that she lives where I live! Pretty awesome to have her in my hometown.
After 50 books about Siena you would think that the story line would have shriveled up and died long ago. That is definitely not the case!!! Gangland is a great read delving into some very real issues however it doesn't go overboard. And the last page of this book will leave you saying W.T.H!!! December 2022 can not arrive soon enough!!!
Crane has this amazing knack for dropping little breadcrumbs throughout a story that then come and smack you in the face (with Sienna Nealon strength) in the last few chapters, immediately pulling you in to read the next one. Gangland is no different and per usual, will be awaiting Book 52 readily!
Robert J Crane continues to impress me as an author & gives an interesting take on real life, ongoing, humanitarian issues in the US today … adding the requisite ’Sienna Nealon’ twist keeps the tale from becoming too real. Even a hint of the storyline would be a spoiler for this story … worth the read!!
Our intrepid heroine back to doing her thing. Over far too quick, and then we get prepped for the next book. At least Sienna is on good form, well most of her, and the new bits that she has to re-grow, and no longer hunted by the authorities.
I have loved this whole series. Even when one book is just good, I love it because it sets up the next one. I liked this one a lot and the ending has me on my toes just waiting for the next one.
I really liked this book and, although some plot points are looking quite similar to previous books (I guess that’s what you get with being 50+ books into a series), it still kept me on my toes and I really want to know what happens next and why some other things have already happened. 4/5
Another great read from Crane. Sienna has returned to Nashville and the crooks - or in this case, the gangs - had taken full advantage of her absence. It is as action packed as always. The epilogue promises of great things to come - roll on 2nd December!
Started very slow so slow I was almost ready to stop reading. I knew it would get better which it did but not much better. Sienna is hopefully back as her earlier self those were the great stories not like the bad ones of her constantly being drunk..
Seeing Sienna mature into womanhood brings with it a pleasure of its own. Having Sienna realise that she's not omnipotent or omnipresent and that it's OK to ask for help when you're overwhelmed or outnumbered. Even heroes need help sometimes.
i can’t help but read these books too fast! absolutely brilliant yet again and the ending! Wow total mind boggler, cannot get enough of them. can’t wait for the next
Ghost had me explained to my wife every time I laughed out loud or snorted soda out my nose. There were zero giggles in this book, but I still enjoyed it.
Wow as good as always, got me back to reading more regularly. Love the surprising ending, sure keeps you on the edge of my seat: love it when I can't guess the end lol
Thank you.......................................I love these books, but I've gotten ahead of the publications! It's killing me having to wait for the next book to come out.
