I really enjoyed Hayes and Rory's story. Just like the previous Crawfords siblings. Their chemistry is everything. I loved it. I loved how Hayes realised who Rory was to him and how he reacted to the surprise was just amazing. I wish their story is longer. And I wanted to see them with their baby. But there's no epilogue. I mean, not really one.

Tropes: One night stand, surprise baby, curvy girl

I am absolutely in love with Rory and Hayes!! They were so freaken adorbs!! I laughed so hard during the sex scenes… these two were hot but hellafunny too!! I giggled so much!!

Rory was a fun heroine… but a little bit jaded when it comes to happily ever after. She didn’t have good examples growing up. So when Hayes takes an interest in her beyond their no-strings-one-night-sex-fest, she doesn’t trust it’s the real thing. But he soon breaks down her defenses and proves that he’s here to stay!!

Hayes was a yummy hero wrapped up in an expensive suit. He left Saddle Creek, TX and if it weren’t for his family, he’d never come back. But something changed… Rory is making him think of roots and this time he’s going to run towards and not away. I love that he was persistent when it came to keeping himself in Rory’s radar. And I love that he embraced the things that she loved… even her fainting goats!!

Every time I want an uplifting, feel good story … Kat Baxter is my go to gal. Her books are filled charm, humor, love, and a whole lotta delicious heat!! Total Queen of adorkable!!

This was a fantastic surprise pregnancy romance. The story was not at all what I expected but it was so much better. Rory was my favorite heroine of all time, she was both really kickass but also very vulnerable and I really loved that. Hayes clearly didn’t know what hit him when he met Rory but I loved how quickly she was able to reform the playboy without even trying. I can’t wait to read the final two books in this series.

The heroine proposes a one-night stand and they have a sexy weekend before the hero goes back to the city. But he can't forget her and keep texting her incessantly. A couple of months later, turns out she was pregnant, and he came to see her at the same time. He was happy and wanted to settle down but she doesn't believe he wanted them. A bit of a misunderstanding, but it was a cute ending. THE END

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.

This is Rory and Hayes book. Rory owns a hobby farm with adorable little animals that she brings to events and children’s parties. She left her corporate job to buy the farm and loves her new life. Hayes lives in Austin and has a high power job which makes him lots of money, he was the brother who couldn’t wait to leave their small town and make it big. He’s also a huge manwhore, the only good thing he does is not sleep with any of the women in their small town.
Hayes comes to town for a festival and hits on his twin, Harrison’s new wife to get a reaction out of him. Birdie didn’t need her husband to defend her she like a badass lays Hayes out with a few moves. The other brothers are ganging up on him when Rory comes to his rescue and asks him to help with her animals. She then tells him she wants to have sex with him, he of course agrees and they go to her place. Take care of the animals and then it’s go time. Their sexy times were hot and he does take good care of her. He spends the night in her bed cuddling! Something he never does, it’s usually, wham, bam, won’t see you later ma’am. They do use condoms but Rory still becomes pregnant. You don’t get to see the next morning after sex, there is a chapter of their texts that Hayes initiates and Rory sometimes responds, with mostly updates on her new animal acquisitions. He really misses her and for the first time ever wants more with a woman. It’s funny that she one night stands him, something that’s his regular routine.
Fast forward about 3 months and Rory is suffering from bad morning sickness so eventually the whole family, except Hayes, finds out she’s pregnant. In the meantime he is out with friends and turns down a woman who clearly is into him, his friends are shocked. He decides he’s not waiting and he’s going to go get his woman. When he arrives she wonders which one of his siblings called him, he tells her no one called him, he missed her and wanted to talk to her. He tells her he can’t stop thinking of her and wants her to move to Austin and see where their relationship goes. She turns him down and tells him she’s pregnant. He’s shocked and scared but excited that he’s going to be a dad. He accompanies her to her doctor’s appointment and later meets with the whole family to share the news and show off their ultrasound pictures. He's all touchy feely in front of the family, that’s when he tells her he’s all in with her and the baby. They have more sexy times and he leaves the next morning after telling her he will be back, she did decline joining him when he asked her to come with him.
She thinks he left her and is heartbroken, but he comes back with baby furniture and tells her he loves her. He had to go take care of some work things and to put his house on the market. She worries he will leave because he left town before. That’s when he explained he has ADHD and now takes medication and has coping tools that help him deal with his condition. He proposes and she accepts. The have a baby boy.
I never warmed up to Hayes, he was a jerk in the other siblings books and didn’t feel their connection in this one. It seemed he used his ADHD for his poor behavior plus I don’t like manwhores. I liked that Rory was not afraid to ask for what she needed from Hayes in terms of sex. I’m glad she wasn’t a virgin but disappointed she had only had one previous lover. I also liked that she didn’t hide her pregnancy.

I absolutely love it!! Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read.

Aurora meets Hayes at the Bluebonnet Festival. She wants one night with him so she ask him for help with her animals. Hayes was in a little bit of trouble with his brothers after hitting on his twin brothers wife. They get the animals settled and head to her house. They make quick work of undressing each other and Hayes carries Rory to her bedroom. He pleasures her, then they get physical. Hayes stays the night and they end up going at it a few more times. Over the next two months Hayes can’t stop thinking about Aurora. He text and calls her but she only reply’s with one word answers. Hayes heads to the bar with his two best friends. A woman by the bar can’t keep her eyes off him. He doesn’t notice her and had no attraction to her. They ask him what’s wrong and he tells them his one night with Rory and he can’t stop thinking about her. Hayes heads back to Saddle Creek. Rory sends an urgent message to her best friend Callie she can’t leave her job so she sends Amber. Rory keeps getting sick and she wishes she could get over it. Amber comes to help her and Rory tells her she’s pregnant. Quinn and Madison come to Rory’s house. Quinn thought Amber left him. Amber tells the two Crawford siblings Rory is pregnant and it’s one of theirs. Quinn goes to question Rory whether it’s Hayes’s or Johnny’s. Madison stays with Rory as Quinn and Amber leave. Madison talks to Rory about Hayes. He arrives in the middle of the night and stays on the ranch until the next day he shows up at Rory’s house with donuts, coffee and juice. She tells him she can’t stand the smell of coffee right now so he gets rid of it.
She scarfs down a doughnut and isn’t sure how the juice will affect her. He tells her he wants to start a relationship with her and for her to move to Austin with him. As they talk his brother Monroe calls, he wants to know why his brother is calling her she tells him because he’s been helping her around the farm. She tells him she can’t get out and feed her animals because the smell. He wants to know if she’s sick since smells upset her stomach. She tells him she’s not sick she’s pregnant. Hayes it’s goes with her to her first appointment. They get pictures of the baby and hear the heartbeat. He asked her if he can stay the night with her nothing needs to happen he just wants to hold her. He stays the night she tells him she wants him, so he pleasures her. The next day Hayes rushes off back to Austin. She calls Callie who shows up on her doorstep. Rory tells her it’s over between her and Hayes because he left. Callie reminds her of how she talked to her about Monroe how he looked at her. She tells her that’s the same way Hayes looks at her. Hayes comes back and tells her he’s not leaving her he had things he needed to get an order. He tells her he asked her to go with him. He drops to his knees in front of her and tells her he didn’t mean to scare her. He tells her he wants to be a family and asked her to marry him. She tells him yes she’ll marry him. They welcome new baby boy into the family named Noah. They opted not to give their son a former presidents name.

I really enjoy this book and the romance between Hayes and Rory.. I am glad that everything worked out and they got a happy ending.. Its also nice to see all the other characters in this book too..

The Playboy meets his match …

I do NOT consider these to be STAND-ALONE reads. It contains multiple reoccurring characters and an overarching theme. The series features the Crawford siblings that find out about a caveat in the family patriarch’s will that could cause them to lose their birthright if not fulfilled. This caveat requires each of the siblings to be married. Yikes!

I love how Kat Baxter includes good main character descriptions, but as always, I want and need more from those supporting. It is helpful for those that reoccur here and there throughout the series, and even more so, when they go on to be a H/h in a different story.

I mentioned the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There are a few grammatical issues. These include missing words, extra inserted words, incorrect punctuation and incorrect word choice (😁 One of these actually told Rory how she WAS NOT SEXY). I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.

Hayes is the playboy of the Crawford brothers.
He's also left the Crawford farm to go to the city and make a career. He always seemed like he couldn't wait to get away from the small town living.
Rory on the other hand had a life in the city that wasn't for her. She moved to Saddle Creek to get away from the fast paced living and away from a family she just couldn't seem to please.

Everyone in Saddle Creek knows the Crawfords need to get married to fulfill the terms of their grandfather's will to keep their land. Rory isn't into the marriage bargain, but if she could just have a wild one night with Hayes, she's going to take advantage of a night full of debauchery with a human and not a toy. However, things don't go exactly as planned...
Hayes is acting as if their night together wasn't just a one off.
Oh and Hayes might have left a little present behind that Rory had no plans for.

I really liked this one. I find it funny that the one sibling of the bunch that I thought wouldn't want to get married is the one falling hardest for the woman who questions his motives.
While Rory does like Hayes, she's made a life for herself she's comfortable with. She's heard all the stories of how Hayes wanted to leave Saddle Creek and hardly comes back. So it only makes sense that he wouldn't want to come back for her when there were no promises whispered during their one night.

I have loved all of the books in the Saddle Creek, Tx: The Crawfords series by Kat Baxter. The series is about the Crawford siblings trying to save their ranch which means each has to get married & have an iron clad prenup in place prior to their uncles upcoming death in order to keep their ranch from being taken from them.

Lonestar Playboy is about Hayes Crawford.
Hays is the playboy of the family who grew up ranching but now leads a successful life in Austin. When Rory spots Hays she knows he’s only good for one night & that’s all she’s looking for, But what happened when Roys gets more then she’s bargined for?

I really love that even though these books are under 100 pages there is a good story along with the 🔥& you fall In love with the Crawford siblings even more with each book. These books are a perfect read if you need a refresh read or are wanting to read something when you don’t have a ton of time although you will want to keep reading them all once you start! I can’t wait for Lonestar Best Friend to be here in September!

The playboy has new rolls to step into.

I really liked this story about a one night stand that turned into more. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable. The Crawford’s need to be real and I want one to keep! The closeness of the family and friends was very touching. Rory (Aurora) amazed me with her confidence and straight forward thinking and acting. Her manner caused a bit of confusion as she became self conscious. Hayes was wonderful. He knew that being with Rory had changed him but didn’t realize how much until he saw her again. Hayes and Rory together were both sweet and steamy. I liked how the story ended although I would have liked another epilogue further out. I recommend reading this book.

So I loved Rory from the previous books and I was so excited that she gets her own HEA. Hayes is the playboy brother of the Crawford family who left saddle creek as soon as he could. Rory is Callie's best friend and known for her little farm, especially her goats. Rory is determined to have Hayes for one night, little did she know fate had different plans.

My heart broke for Rory because I have been her. The curvy girl who didn't think the guy genuinely liked her for her. That plagued her and affected her interactions with Hayes. She couldn't fathom that he wanted her for her. Hayes found himself wanting a relationship for the first time in his life, he just didn't know how to get Rory on board.

I loved that Hayes was so sure and did everything he could to prove to Rory his feelings were real. Super quick, super cute read.

🎵 Another One Bites the Dust 🎵 . . .

Once Hayes was set straight on what love is and was convinced that he was feeling it, he knew what he wanted. Rory Reynolds fit his idea of a “keeper” very well. He is finally ready to settle down.

The only problem is that Rory and everyone else in town knows Hayes’ view on settling down. He’ll never do it. So when he and Rory enjoy their passionate one-night-stand, she knows what to expect. Except for the surprise pregnancy! But because she knows Hayes doesn’t believe in forever, she won’t accept that he wants her for herself and not simply because of the baby they conceived. Can he convince her he wants them both? Can he make her see that he is ready for a family life with her?

Aurora and Hayes

What a great, fun read. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Maybe because Hayes was portrayed as a playboy which I don't think is a fair representation of him.
I loved that despite never wanting to get close to anybody he couldn't resist Aurora and despite being three months apart after a weekend hook up with her, he couldn't stop thinking about her or couldn't stop texting her despite her few responses. Aurora was hesitant in believing he wanted to be with her. He looked like a model with a body to die for and she was a big girl with a farm working with her animals. But when things unexpectedly changed, Hayes didn't hesitate to be with her. Great plot, likeable characters and red hot romance. Highly recommended

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Hayes has been known as the playboy who left Saddle Creek and never looked back. He has his own reasoning for that. Rory is an independent and loyal young woman who has a great personality. They have their own insecurities but feel a connection, regardless of how they act about it at times. A surprise, some misconceptions, along with well meaning friends and family are going to create humor and heartache. It was great to see Hayes fall and Rory realize that she didn't have to shoulder everything. It felt a little rushed in a couple of places but it didn't take away from the love story. I enjoyed the storyline and characters.

Another fabulous instalove novella from Kat Baxter. This is a gorgeously perfect steamy summer quick read. This is the turn of the one and done Hayes. He is eternally single with no interest in more than one night. That is until be meets the curvy delight that is Rory. She is in need of some relief and Hayes seems the perfect guy for the job. Neither counts on inconvenient feelings getting in the way.

I love a reformed man whore. Hayes goes all in almost instantly with Rory. From his unanswered texts to his surprise visit, Hayes is romance lead instalove perfect.

This is a fun and steamy curvy girl instalove surprise pregnancy romance. Only two Crawfords left to go now.....

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Hates us a not the trope of guy who wants a relationship. In fact, the whole hometown knows that. He lives away from his hometown in Austin and loves his life there. Until he meets Rory.
She is a country girl and has a farm with goats and bunnies and other animals on it. She loves her life in Saddle Creek.
This author carefully tells their story with some steamy scenes! Kat Baxter has been a favorite author of mine for a while. Her books are wonderful.

Let's Ride...

This whole series is so good!!! Read it.
There are so many things I enjoyed about this romance between Rory and Hayes. I loved the representation in the whole series and the way it is described is important too. It was just done right for me. It wasn't cringy at all, very genuine.
It's a shame Rory didn't even try to give Hayes a chance because of what she assumed she knew about him. I wonder what would have happened if she answered his text messages on a more consistent basis.
Just thinking about it and Hayes really didn't have a chance. Every opportunity Rory had, she assumed the worse about him. I'm just glad they got their HEA.

I loved this story by Kat Baxter. I couldn't put it down. I only wish it was longer. I love reading about the Crawfords siblings and them finding love. This was an opposite attract story.

Rory just wants a night of passion and she wants it with Hayes. Their night of passion doesn't leave Hayes's mind though. He want more with her. He never thought that he would want a relationship. This is the 4th book in this series, and this is Hayes and Rory’s journey. Hayes grew up in Saddle Creek, and he left town as soon as he could, only returning to visit his siblings. Rory is sassy and could not wait to leave her life behind and head to Saddle Creek to open a hobby farm. When these two meet the sparks fly, and the chemistry between them is combustible and undeniable. This is a well written story which is a small-town romance, with family, friendships, humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to an entertaining and sweet page turner.

The Crawfords don’t disappoint

I had been hoping, since I met her in book one of this series, that Rory would get her man. Did she ever! I wish I was as bold as Rory when she sets her sights on Hayes.

Rory blindsided Hayes in the best of ways. While neither of them intended to have more than one night with other, their white-hot, sizzling chemistry says otherwise. Hayes, the player(ish), is dazed and confused until he is set straight by his family, that what he’s feeling is L-O-V-E.

This is book number 4 of the Saddle Creek, TX: The Crawfords series and focuses on Hayes and Rory. Rory had been jaded by relationships thanks to her parents and just wanted a night of passion. She knows that Hayes is known for his one and done lifestyle so she approaches him to get her night of fun. She expected the great night she received, but did not expect for Hayes to fall for her and to want more. She was definitely in for a big surprise when she found herself pregnant with his baby and him determined to win her heart over. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Hayes is known as a playboy and that he does not mess around with the ladies in Saddle Creek, that is until he meets a strong woman that steals his breath. Rory has left her home to do what she wanted. Determined to make it on her own, she did not expect the night with Hayes was going to lead to so much turmoil. When Hayes finds out there is no stopping this overprotective cowboy.

Hot, sexy and oh so much tension between Hayes and Rory that the pages burned up. Love the series and this book that I did not want to put it down.
