Norah Parker would do anything to prove her brother Jeremy's innocence. Sentenced to years in prison for robbery and murder, all hope seems lost for Jeremy. But even though Norah's parents have given up on him, she won't. And she knows one other person who won't either--her dearest friend's brother, Stuart Joliet.

Stuart has spent the last two years blaming himself for his friend's turn onto the wrong path. But although Jeremy made some poor choices, Stuart has a hard time believing what the judge said about him. When Norah approaches Stuart for help in proving Jeremy was wrongly accused, he can't say no.

Working together brings Norah and Stuart closer together, but their newfound love--and their lives--are in danger when the wrong people find out what they're doing.

Cat Cahill writes such great clean romance novels and I just love them! Norah is determined that her brother, Jeremy was put away in the jail, unjustly, but why won’t he talk?? She goes to his former best friend Stuart for help, after her parents have forbidden her to go see her brother, after he has become a criminal and a murderer. Norah knows all of this is not true. Her brother would NEVER do such heinous things!! Everyone has turned their backs on Jeremy due to the fact that he had changed before the murder, and had been associating with a bunch of really bad , thuggish characters! Finally, Norah talks Stuart into escorting her to the prison, secretly. Jeremy is so thrilled to see them, but all he will say is he’s innocent and he can’t say anything about it. Later, Stuart talks to Jeremy’s other friend, Nate, about why he would act this way and they agree that there is something wrong! Stuart and Nate then go to visit him and Jeremy whispers that if he says anything that their families will pay! He says that he feels certain that now they are in danger for sure and they better leave town or the thugs will kill them! Sure enough, they’ve seen them walking to the prison. I’m leaving out SO many details that are so awesome in this book, but there’s just no way to tell you everything!! Oh, I just can’t tell you anymore information or how it ends or I will spoil it all for you!! You simply HAVE to buy this book for yourself and relax and enjoy it!! It’s so good and fast paced. You’ll love it! I sure did!! I am an AR and have given my honest review of this book.

This was an OK American historical romance, with likable characters, but it was just too short to have enough character development. I needed more backstory on both Norah and Stuart. It gets 3 stars from me.

Norah was likable, and I liked that she refused to believe her brother was capable of committing the terrible crimes he had been blamed for. I liked that she wanted to prove his innocence, even if it put her in danger. It did really bother me, though, that her parents and her brother's friends all believed he was guilty -- simply because he didn't try to defend himself.

Stuart was likable, but it did bother me that he believed Jeremy was guilty. Once he talked to him, though, he realized that Jeremy had been framed. I liked that he was then happy to help Norah prove Jeremy's innocence.

The methods that were used to prove Jeremy's innocence probably wouldn't have really worked, but they were fun to read. It made the story more interesting, because it was more than just a romance. Norah and Stuart fell in love while they worked together to solve the mystery.

This is a clean romance, with nothing but kisses. If you only want to read romances that do not include sex scenes, this one might work for you.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Even though it is in direct defiance of her parents, Norah feels she has to find out the truth behind what led her brother Jeremy into a long prison term. To do this she has her closest friend, Ruthann help to convince her brother, and Jeremy’s close childhood friend to escort her to the prison. Stuart never did believe he would commit the crime he was accused of. Still, he is angry with Jeremy for getting wound up with the wrong crowd and really doesn’t want to visit him. But no matter what, he can’t seem to say no to Norah. I loved watching the way Norah & Stuart seemed to clash at times and had to smile as they began to realize they were falling in love. Norah made some moves to get information where the danger made Stuart cringe. I love how all of Cat’s books have such a strong woman as their base! And the ending…let’s just say, they always come with a bang! This is a book I absolutely loved and would recommend to anyone who enjoys Western Historical Romance!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author but this review is my voluntary and honest opinion.

While Stuart helped Norah on her quest of proving her brother Jeremy’s innocence, he fell in love with her…
A friends-to-lovers beautiful story, as two people who have known each other since they were children discover there is more to the other than the child they grew up with. I liked that Norah loved her brother so much she was not willing to believe in his culpability. Also that Stuart, though not as optimistic as Norah, wanted to be there for her – later on for Jeremy as well – accompanying and supporting her wherever he could. In the end, that was what drew them towards each other, where a friendship became the foundation of a relationship.
I always enjoy Cat Cahill’s stories, in which the characters have strong values. Hopefully, you will enjoy this one too.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

From the lovely cover to the story's end, this book was a true delight! Norah was bold enough to ignore her parents' mandate of cutting off her brother Jeremy after he allegedly plotted a robbery and murdered a man. She was sure Jeremy would never do such a thing and needed to prove him wrong, so Norah convinced her friend Stuart to accompany her to jail to visit Jeremy and get some answers. Even though Stuart believed Jeremy was guilty, he wanted to help Norah. Danger, mystery, and a little humor when an elderly bachelor sends Norah gifts to woo her--this book has it all, and it held my interest throughout. I highly recommend this clean romance--and this entire series! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.

This is a sweet and heartwarming story full of action including danger, mystery, family, suspicions, and romance. This is Norah Parker and Stuart Joliet story, and the character development is outstanding. Norah sets out to prove that her brother Jeremy had been wrongfully accused of a crime and enlists the help of Stuart, who is Jeremy's best friend. As the couple works together feelings began to grow between them. Will they be able to prove Jeremy's innocence? Will they be able to escape the danger that is threatening them? Will their feelings for each other continue to grow and become a HEA? Be sure and read this wonderful story to find out; I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.

I loved this book. The story brings out love of family. It shows how siblings love and treat each other in the worst of situations when they have a strong bond. Accused of something he didn't do, to keep his family safe and secure, Jeremy, who is Norah's brother, doesn't defend himself to the law. He goes to prison and is serving a sentence there. His family and friends have disowned him, except for Norah.
She enlists his best friend to help her find a way to clear his name. The adventures that follow keep you on your toes! Will Norah and Stuart find everything in time? Can they discover the future they are meant to have? Read on and find out. You will enjoy the read!

Sometime who you want and need is right in front of you. Norah Parker is determined to prove her brother, Jeremy, did not kill anyone. That is hard since he refused to make a statement during his trial. She really needs her best friend’s brother’s help. Stuart is reluctantly recruited. You do not have to have read the previous books but it is helpful to have the background in those. Cat Cahill is a master storyteller and will draw you in.

Good Story

Pleasant love story laced with heart thumping moments and plenty of bad guys. Good, clean, moral tale. As with any series; it’s always best to read from beginning to end in order. that’s best for this one too.

Norah's story is filled with romance and mystery. Norah's brother is in jail and she can't believe it to be true so she decides to prove his innocence with some help. I was engaged in this story throughout and really liked the way the story unfolds.
