Zach and his ladies are packing up for the dragon conclave. He has enough on his hands trying to impress centuries old dragons that he’s their new king.
But when a dragon arrives injured, and another dies at the conclave, things grow tense at the conclave. Zach will need to step up as their new king and solve a problem so old it’s been forgotten.
As if he doesn’t have enough to deal with, as pushy dragons vie for his attention, he’ll have to solve a murder as well.
Born and raised in the agricultural midwest, I moved every year after school even as far as Shanghai before settling down with my wife in Chicago.
I have always enjoyed Wuxia stories and became thrilled when I discovered harem stories spreading to western books. I've written down my day dreams for years as an idle hobby. Inspired by the harem genre I'm finally fleshing them out into full blown novels.
I'm excited to share my stories with you as I turn them into novels and series.
fun, a bit over the top This is the point where most harem series crash and burn, but that doesn't happen here. It's threatening to happen soon, but not yet. Zack the MC is avoiding the problem of growing his harem too fast, to the point where we the readers can't remember who any of these women are. That is good. we are getting introduced to the new girls one book before they join the family and that is a brilliant strategy for other writers to take note of. Now the power growth and wish fulfillment are out of hand. Dude has godly levels of power and kingly levels of authority and riches. where can we go from here? Still a fun read even if the sex scenes seemed increasingly shoehorned in willy nilly.
The mc is still so sappy and pathetic. Being angry, possessive, overprotective, and horny doesn't make one an Alpha. I keep waiting for him to gain more confidence and be a real alpha, but he doesn't get better. These books are constantly grating. They were entertaining at first, but now they're just too frustrating with how weak the MC is. Every few seconds I'm growling at the MC and author for being weak and not acting like an alpha. Pretty much every single interaction he has with a female is pathetic. Always doing and saying what the girls want instead of being his own man and doing what he wants. They all easily manipulate him. A real alpha isn't easily manipulated and doesn't worry about female opinions. You have to think more like the typical female that says and does whatever she wants and doesn't care what guys think.. and stop thinking like the little sappy yes ma'am that's afraid of what women will do and say if you 'don't behave'.
All guys are conditioned their whole lives by women to be door mats for them. They are always acting, stop being afraid of them.. they are constantly testing to see how manly you are and if you will defy them and do what you want instead of what they want. Women don't respect or desire men they can easily manipulate. Any man who doesn't pass these basic manly tests can never be a real Alpha, even if they are put into a top dog role, like the MC.. it just makes you even weaker appearing. Of course girls love taking advantage of a king too and getting spoiled. But Alpha you are not. Door mat, you still are. It's pathetic and not entertaining to read when you're expecting an Alpha character. Too many authors are the same or worse. It's nearly impossible to find non-wussy MCs in books anymore in our feminist controlled society. Are guys just going to roll over fully and get weaker and weaker? Books like these are unwittingly furthering the demasculinity of men. Please write a manly MC that people really want, but are maybe too afraid to say so. Even females want to read a dominat Alpha. Stop being afraid my friends.
The books are written pretty well and I'm not trying to put them down too much, but there's also plenty of things the author forgot about or that don't add up. An example is how the mc didn't grow or gain any power after eating an ArchAngel. He should have grown significantly from that and all the angels and cherubs he ate, but there was no mention of it. He was the same 50ft in the next book that he was after he ate the Silver. And having more info on dragon size, it starts to seem like he should have grown a lot more from the Silver. Such a massive, ancient, mana-rich dragon... with other dragons being the best source for growth, seemingly.
My only complaint was it was too short! My favourite parts of this series and Bruce’s other works are the slow burn moments of the group. And I love the distinctions and special moments for each of the characters. Seeing them all change and adapt. Stuff like Morgana being secretly cuddly, and getting to briefly see jadelyn in the water. The small nuances and “seemingly useless” moments like the failing to swim make the stories so much more real. I love the imperfections of the characters as they seem more realistic and grounded. So many other authors characters seemingly never make a misstep in their journeys and it makes the stories more flat and predictable. Another great entry by Bruce. I almost want to request he upset the cycle and give us the next dragon book first. The only thing I want is longer books because they are so damn good. Easily my favourite author of the genre without question. Keep up the great work because we all want more.
I’ve been a fan of Bruce’s work for a while, and think he’s a fantastic author. I generally enjoy the harem books, but a common issue with most of them is that it generally comes across as unbelievable how quickly characters just accept the harem or women push for it without issues. It’s never that believable and is a bit jarring when reading. Also, the frequent tumbles in the sheets tend to get old, and the characters tend to stop developing as the story progresses and new characters are inserted.
That was NOT an issue for this series, to my joy and surprise. I’ve read up to book 6 of this series, and the story was fantastic and seemed completely natural. My favorite part was that the character development seemed pretty consistent across the series, and when it seemed like an older character was starting to get ignored, Bruce would add something about that character to keep that character’s development going.
I think one thing that made this series work as well as it did was the paranormal aspect where the characters are mostly not human and have animal instincts that just make harems make more sense and really helped individualize each character in a unique and special way- preventing the characters from becoming bland.
The story here was phenomenal and I look forward to the next installment. My inner fantasy nerd was loving this series and all the paranormal species in it. I’d honestly like to see the harem not growing anymore (past book 6) as it is getting difficult to keep up with all the characters and will be impossible to maintain character development for everyone. That said I would highly recommend this series for any fantasy/harem genre lovers as it’s an incredible read, and this is my new favorite of Bruce’s work.
Will be Hard to Top Zach is now publicly the king of dragons, continuing to develop his powers and become even more special and unique. he is invited by the Bronze king to hold a dragon council meeting. Turns out there are only 50 or so dragons left, and he is expected as the new king to help repopulate. This expectation is doubled when it becomes more widely known that he is multi-metallicic, and doubled again when its discovered he is multi-chromatic. He could sire any color dragon!
Tyrande and Yev, both elven princess, Yev also a green dragon, go along on the trip to the council meeting. By the time the council meeting is over they are both claimed and wed to Zach. Kelly the werewolf is left at home but gets a nice reunion at the end when everyone returns.
Zach duels another dragon and kills him in a show of strength.
A black dragon arrives wounded, claims to have been attacked by jets. During the course of the council meeting another dragon is murdered. Zach and Morgana investigate and discover the skin walker has killed another dragon and come in its form. The skinwalker has powerful allies, and indeed, turns out they are the leader of the third fae power center, the wild (to go with summer and winter). Gate in a bunch of dryders, big fights, eventual victory.
Gets access to the secret rooms and treasures of his parents or at least their lineage. Gets some degree of communication with them.
Lots of cool exposition on dragon history and culture. Some borrowed, some unique.
6 eligible female dragons wheedle their ways into being Zach's new "honor guard", and come home with him. Foreshadowing of dealing with his friends as his situation has become increasing unbelievable.
The adult situations continue to be pretty graphic but tasteful, and are interludes in an interesting plot.
A massive stepdown from book 3. The action and the magical world was still there but the dialogue and interactions between characters was just written poorly. First of the Mc needs to stop growling so much and saying „mine“ all the time. I don’t know if Sentar thought that would seem cool or authentic, but it was really weird at some point. It seemed to me like I was reading about a mentally incapacitated person with ego problems and too much attention on him. Additionally the Mc seems baffled by the concept that actions have consequences. How could he show up with 12 women in front of his best friends and not expect them to get suspicious. I get he’s supposed to be portrayed as more confident now, but is it so hard to write a confident and intelligent character? Last but not least, the harem is growing to fast. This happened in Sentars other story Dungeon Diving around book4-5 as well. One book focusing on one woman and introducing the next is a good pace. But while he was surrounded by 4 women in the last book, there are now 12. Yes, the number tripled. How did the author think that was a good idea? I can already feel the established characters falling to the background and loosing their personalities. I have the feeling the story can only go downhill from here.
The book was very enlightening in terms of understanding Zach’s backstory and the ancestry he carries. And all the gold! I’m sure a certain Hylt Creeper would love to gobble up those shines.
ELLC joke aside, all the new dragons have unique and interesting personalities. I’m betting my money on Poly joining the harem sooner or later.
The fight scenes were super good this book and the difference in dragon vs humanoid combat was cool. Bart and Tei are certainly going to be interesting going forward.
Yev is maybe my favorite mate so far (yes, mate. Zach is a dragon after all) and her goofy attitude is cute. Maybe Jade rivals her, idk.
Now that Zach has all this responsibility on his shoulders I’m curious how he will handle his new position (and I’m sure all that stress will surely be answered in another way).
Anyway, I’m probably going to take a break from these books for a bit and dive into ELLC because I miss the murderous and shiny loving box. He just hold a special place in my heart.
Sentar really is pulling out all the stops! I really enjoyed this book! I’m curious and anxious at the same time to see where he takes us. I hope he truly makes this a long series as he mentioned. Zach is truly blossoming and his storyline is quite good. This book was filled with so much action and plot twists and intrigue. I’m enjoying it very much. I’m curious as to what will come of frank and maddie. Also I hope the dragonettes are t for show. I’m hoping he takes them as mates. I really like polydora. So I hope they’re not just background and filler for the books but will transition into mates. This is what I’m hoping! Don’t let me down Bruce! Let’s get on with the next book! Onward lads!
This book really showed how versatile Zach can be, and how varied his appetites are. I wish he could have been a bit less possessive and somewhat more liberal with his horde. Like helping people who aren't as fortunate as him, and maybe spoiling his ladies a bit. He can afford it. That being said, he did kick some serious butt and showed good leadership with how he handled the situations that were pushed on him. I've already got the next book and am going to start it when I'm done writing this.
The author likes to write in arcs mainly trilogies which in my opinion has lead to a third book feeling rushed, this one is better as he has added an extra book to the arc and got the timing right. As there are more Dragon books so he has obviously written a new arc in this series. Lots of action and dragon vs others fights and I think a little better balance in non fighting scenes where he spends time with his mates and potential partners. I enjoyed the book and will continue reading this series. It’s good to be the King.
Great addition to the Dragon Justice series. We get to meet both the elves of Sentarshaden and are introduced to our very first Dragons, besides Zach of course. We are able to get reacquainted with Zach’s frienemy angel and get to see a little more into Morgana’s back story and history. The action is great and the climatic battle at the end shows how powerful Zach is already becoming. This is another great installment of the series and we continue to see Zach add new members to his harem and adventures to the Silverwing Mercenaries schedule. Can’t wait for the next one.
This book picks right before Zack and his ladies head off to the dragon summit in Dubai. Once they reach the bronze King's home Zack is made the new king. We find out quite a few things about dragons and their history in this book and we find out ( So does Zack) what Zack is and who his parents are. It is a very enjoyable book that I had a hard time putting down and finished it wanting more.
Probably one of the better books in the series by focusing less on the protagonist and vampire lover's street-level investigations. Whole concept didn't really work for me. Also worked well to have the book confined mostly to a single location; I think doing so let Sentar flesh out the specifics of the setting much better. The island felt much more real than most in-passing locations in previous novels.
This installment feels like where the series may slowly start a decline. It features the introduction of a lot of characters which will shift focus on the attention from a lot of the already established characters. The main character's harem (or in this case harem candidates) grows exponentially and it leaves the reader with a worry some characters may fall to the wayside moving forward. Still, an entertaining series full of action and drama though.
I don't know if I'm having dragon indigestion or if this fourth volume is less interesting than the previous two, but the fact remains that this Conclave of Dragons was not very digestible. We arrive at the main drawback of this type of series: the accumulation of characters ends up hindering the fluidity of the narration. I also find that the main character progresses a little too quickly in this volume.
The Dragons Justice Series is really good. I've read several of the same tag and none seem to hold my attention like this series or should I say pretty much any series of books by Bruce Sentar. He's an amazing author please keep up the great work and after (SS2) I hope you enjoy your break.
I have appreciated the narrow perspective while approaching (steadily over 4 books thus far) a much wider scope. Loved where it left off but I really don’t understand the need for a harem to break double digits if he’s going to roll with the whole deep defined relations with each one. The works are excellent for the genre, keep it up!
In the end I like what I like. And I like well edited stories, with lots of action and a bit of romance. Sentar offers just what I like in this series, though this installment could use a little further editing, and the covers are fun! Read the first installment and see what I mean!
Very enjoyable series filled with fast paced action, adventure and spice. Zach is the new Dragon King and thrown in the deep end during his first conclave. Adding new women to his harem he faces a challenge to his rule and the rise if a powerful enemy. This will keep you turning pages late into the night!
I continue to really enjoy this urban fantasy series, i love stories with dragons in them, throw in sexy werewolves, sexy sirens, sexy elves, sexy kitsuane, and of course multiple sexy dragons and sexy times, plus a wonderfully imagined Paranormal world existing, hidden from our own, and interesting stories and u get a wonderful read.
This book finished up a lot of threads and left room for more in the future. There was a ton of action, adventure, magic, dragons etc all mixed in to a fun story and universe. I recommend this book and hope there are others set in this universe in the future.
I think the MC has gotten dumber. He's getting in his own way. Can't seem to understand the concept of balance. Can't seem to understand that accepting yourself doesn't require you to just stop practicing any form of self control. Let's stupid ego shit make too many choices. Getting over himself might make the world a better place for his people. He's refusing to do so, so far.
The world is getting bigger and smaller at the same time he wrote another story that kept my attention from the beginning to the end and the charactor development is getting better and better, each book is a self contained adventure and I'm love it, I recommend you read
I love seeing his power grow and got to see how dragon culture works. I also really enjoyed the fact the all the members of the harem stayed relevant and were in the story for the most part
Wow this book was amazing. I loved the way the started to bring the MC through the political spectrum of the para-world. This was a great pace for a New King to start his rule. It also shows that not everything is black and white and decisions have to be made.
This is a great series, I thought the first three books were very good but I believe this one is my favorite. You get to learn more of Jack's past ancestors and it pulls things together more. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
I really enjoyed this one, learned so much about the Dragon society and some of the MC's history. I really hope that he takes Frank and Maggie as his servants or confidants and tells them about his new world. Can not wait for number five.
So far mister Sentar has a perfect record, I loved all of his previous books and this last one is no exception, very entertaining with just enough lore and world building to balance the action and the hot sexy fun
