This reminded me of a better-edited Rainbow Six story. Mike sets up the plot, points the characters in the right direction, and rockets through 3 interrelated stories of the exploits of Kyle Monroe and his partner Wade Curtis. It is all the excitement, technical expertise, and military excitement of a Clancy story without all the pages of filler that can sometimes drag those novels down. There is still plenty of character development along the way, and the enemies have their own surprises and motivations that are fleshed out enough to keep them interesting. Highly recommend it to any readers that love military spec ops and can't wait to see if this becomes part of a larger series of stories.
